LOVE ME ALL!

Edit: Well.. love me Canadians =) -
I'm on the fence on this one for some reason now that its actually available to pre-order... I guess there's always the 21 day return policy.
-
According to everything I have read the SU4300 is pretty much the exact same core as the SU7300 aside from cache and a few locked instruction set features. All benchmarks return results within a few points for both of those processors, and Intel only charges $10 more the SU7300, it is meant to be a very minor upgrade.
Therefore, it is kind of lame the Alienware is charging $100 for it, but in the end I think I will go with the SU4300 and save $100. -
Kthxbai! -

Theres pricing errors on the Canadian page, I was able to get the price down to $699cdn

for people waiting on a student discount. When I spoke to the rep he said initially it will not be available for use with a student discount. So I went ahead and ordered.
-
wonder if that means no EPP, then I don't know if I'll bite just yet.

I am on the phone with EPP right now, and seeing if they can figure out how to add it, I'll keep you guys informed.

Ordered mine
Seems like most people are shooting for the silver. I like black to much and dont mind the fingerprints, so maybe ill get mine a lil sooner, rather than later.
O, got it with the SU7300, 500GB hdd and Bt 2.1
My Estimated ship date is 3/4/10 sooo the wait begins.....
cheers -
hmmmm. shipping in early march. prolly a refresh in april for a may shipping? wishful thinking huh
-
Man all we can hope for is that they ship earlier than the dates they are showing...
Sigh.. god I hate waiting! -
-
Im guessing GTA4 wont run on this?

hey guys, i've been on the cusp of pre-ordering one of these bad boys for a couple hours now but have just one worry about the color options. maybe you guys could help me out? I remember seeing a video on the m11x this past week, i think it was the one showcasing l4d2, in which the m11 had a different color on the front lid. It was sort of a dark/slate matte grey. It was quite distinct from the glossy black that was in the rest of the videos about the m11. now, i recall some people in this thread mentioning that it might be the lunar silver color option. i wanted to know if anyone had any information that could somehow prove that the lunar silver option offered on the pre order page is in fact that dark grey seen in the video instead of the regular lunar silver color found on the m17x. any help would be greatly appreciated.

For Canadians......
I was talking to a Sales Rep, he was totally confused as to how I got to this link ( http://configure.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=ca&CS=cadhs1&l=en&OC=NAM11X_R_1E), he didn't know anything about the m11x but called me back and said if it's up there, then he guesses he can offer it to me. He even told me the -$200 to change colour was correct.
I'm guessing (hoping) the $1049 starting price is an error, and it's really $849, which would make a lot more sense. -
how does one input what they want on the name plate on the UK site ?
EDIT: something is odd about these links. they stink of the fake banking sites that look like the real sites... -

None for Malaysia yet..

I knew I was getting the Core 2 Duo (use virtualization, so no vt-x = no go)
I knew I was going to upgrade to 4GB RAM
I knew I was going to get the base hard drive (I just bought a 128gb SSD to put in this thing)
I knew I would get a couple of small options (blutooth, and if there had been a wireless n option or something) as long as I was still under $1000.
But silver or black. . . I just wasn't sure. I went with the silver because the black-on-silver contrast (the inside area is still black) is a very unique look. I dunno, I might grow to hate it, but it certainly is less bland than just plain-ol black. Plus, fingerprints, smudges, and scratches should be less apparent on the silver.
Oh, and for whoever asked, I use squaretrade for three reasons:
1. I had a great experience with them filing a claim on my last laptop.
2. They guarantee to have either your system fixed or a check (or paypal) sent to you within a week of receiving it (no waiting months to get your computer back).
3. If they can't fix it, you get your money back to buy a new system of your choice instead of just getting whatever "comparable" system they may have.
Plus, I'm pretty sure I've got a 20% off coupon code somewhere, so it'll be $160 instead of $199 from dell. Not that dell's is a bad price, it's quite good (usually squaretrade is way cheaper than straight from the manuf. or best buy, so I'm impressed), but I know I can trust squaretrade and that 1-week turnaround is killer, -
Malaysia have to wait till Thursday/Friday

@ All who ordered = I. Is. Jealous. Lots. T_T
@RAY = No pics?
Hey guys, how did you find those sites? Me want find for me region! -
steveninspokane John 14:6 - Only ONE Way!
Ok, So far, I gave her my school name, when waited on hold for 9 minutes, she came back and she couldn't find my school, I told her the right way to spell it, waited for another 4 minutes, she found it, clarified that I wanted the m11x, and now I have been waiting for about 6 minutes so far...
More to come. :/ -
T_T maybe I can ask my boss to help me order one and get a dealer price on it.
-
Thanks man! -
I cannot order here in CANADA as of now

I was just curious, who here will opt for the lower processor? After what a few people have said about the minimal difference,I'm thinking I might stick with that too.
No point in wasting money that could be well spent somewhere else...Work isn't easy. :S -
-
Since the HDD and Memory are upgradable I will probably just keep the specs slim. But 50$ for 2gb more ram isn't to bad though especially with high ram prices now.
-
In reality, both chips are the same Penryn C2D cores and the only difference is the 1 meg of cache and the virtualization, which as already states is less than a 5% performance increase (less than a 1% in most benchmarks I can find).
Unless I find some serious evidence for the SU7300 being a lot better before the M11X goes on the EPP I will be saving $100 and getting the 4100. -

i need some help guys ! i live in the channel islands so dont pay tax (hehe) does anybody know what it means when they say a tax certificate is required to be filed ??
"If your order is confirmed as qualifying for tax exemption, Dell will require a tax certificate to be on file" -
