**Official Alienware M11x Owner's Lounge**

Since the refresh is coming in less than 6months I think I will just pickup the new MBP's which are coming on 3/10 and use that then sell it and pickup the refresh m11x since the Macbook's hold value alot better than Alienware's.

So it is August or September, bit earlier than I figured, and I might still be a bit surprised to see it that early, but feasible.

Do you know when the alienware m11x will be up for order?

I am waiting on your success. Probably be on the EPP site tommorow anyway, or even at midnight, so at this point I am not sure it is worth the hassle. Dell Chat died, their server is getting gorilla stomped, maybe just go to bed and it will be all good tomorrow.

The EPP rep said that he is unable to use a student discount for the M11x because it's not on their site. He also verified that the M11x has the SIM card slot on the side but he's not sure if I will be able to plug it right in and use service. He said that the Gobi card is available separately if need be so I think I'll shy away from that for the moment just in case.

Currently having problems getting the name plate set up for me but other than that it looks like the order is wrapping up. He's taking ~$20 off and giving me free 3-day shipping because he's unable to get it the discount for me.

hey do you guys know if the lunar silver option available is the same as the m15's and m17's or is it a darker tone?

yeah I did. I think she just took 100 off and gave me free shipping. so not quite 10%

 

The EPP rep just told me that the reason the ship date is so far ahead is because they're on back-order for the chassis. He's going to give me a call back tomorrow because he's having problems getting the name plate to go through and I'd really like it to say my name.

I'm not sure how you got your girl to give you the 7+3%, wonton. My rep was only able to give me a small discount (~5% total).

 

I'm paying out the butt because my rep refused to give me any sort of discount. =(

 

Your final price seems a tad higher for your config.

I got the 3 year basic warranty. your config only has 1 year. I also got the 160 gig hard drive since I have a 500 gb laying around

 

On the configuration it says the 3 year basic and 3 year advanced are the same price(199). May want to call about that.

 

actually when you select the advanced, it automatically adds 99. so advanced is actually $100 more than the basic

It's not going to get i3's or quad cores. The next processor upgrade will be the i7 ULV's which will only be a 20-30% boost in performance in 6-8months.

 

Can not seem to find the option to remove office to save 100 bucks (starting at 699 instead of 799). Perhaps I read it wrong earlier in the post, but if someone can clarify, I would greatly appreciate it.

Meh, not shipping til March 1st, no i series, almost 1200.00 with tax and shipping for a decent configuration. I think i'm going to pass...799.00 was a good deal but over 1000 is quite a bit for such a tiny machine :/ I think i'd rather invest it in something more substantial. Gonna at least wait and see what comes out between now and March 1st. I really thought I was going to be more excited about this LOL
