The Overclock option has made me and i thinking alot of people happy! I wondering if you'll be able to overclock it more? Like the Msi Wind had 3 overclocking options in a drop down box, i think it was some thing like "8% 16% 35%"
-
After you ordered; how long did it take to get the second email?
I called Dell to modify my order; and she told me it was cancelled?
-
nuke, ur boss is ordering this baby once it was officially released or b4? if its b4, how?
-
Please post a link to the official Dell-Alienware site that says they support overclocking (IE it will not void your warranty).
If so I recant my statement otherwise you are the ones misinformed.
Just because the BIOS allows you to overclock does not mean it is supported. Messing with overclocking via the BIOS without specific written statements saying it is allowed is a perfectly good way to void your warranty. Im not saying I wouldnt do it but what I am saying is that its pretty lame to not support it when competitors do with the touch of a button, no BIOS mods required. -
Was staring at the MBP 13 but it didn't get a refresh and then CES came along. I fell in luuurveee...
-
Hmm - Same here - I ordered last night and got the "Acknowledged Email" within a few minutes - I never received any "Order Confirmed" Email.
I just spoke to the rep, she said there was a mistake on the order and that it was cancelled so I have redone my order - I just got the "Acknowledged Email" and am hoping to get the second one soon. . . -
I need a product id first. He's gonna order it the same way he orders stock for the shop. But doubt it will come before, since its release for Asiapac is like friday/thursday-ish
-
It's been shown in a review to be an option in the BIOS. As far as I'm aware it doesn't have a specific options setting-simply an option to overclock, a pre-set value.
Firstly, the M17x, you can overclock on that without voiding the warranty. And that's undefined speeds, whereas this is pre-defined overclocking speeds.
Secondly, I believe the fact that it's simply a set overclock from 1.3 to 1.6GHz suggests that it can be done under warranty. -
Wonders if anyone knows the product code for the m11x...
-
hmm......i need to figure out some shortcuts to get it ASAP. which way will be faster? a) dealers outside b) managers in dell
-
You help me and I'll help you. How's that sound? Get me my product code and I'll get you a retail ETA?
-
I got the same answer. Did they charge your card twice?
-
Mine says 'work in progress'.
-
dat is if i can get it. LOL will try my best. yet still you havent answer me. i know a big dealer outside but i dno whether to find him or the senior manager.
-
I can't say much since the company uses a courier service to get their systems and systems probably get ordered every two/3 ish days if not daily. But then the SG dell rep told me they aren't ready for release yet so I can't do much until I have a product code I can give to my boss to harass the dell people. Hehehe. Find the boss, simple as that.
-
GRRR thats damn annoying, ive phoned them and they say everything is ok :S. I hope everything is :s i really want this thing next week lol. What time did you order yours this morning?
-
im chattin wif the SA, hopefully can squeeze some info for asia pacific region and not to forget the product code.
-
YES - Now I am on the phone trying to get the first Authorization cancelled.
-
DKCWMN1
nuke, u owe me 1 favour. -
anyone know the Dell UK phone number can not find it anywhere on there site
-
Around 6am, I woke up early just to nab my mom's CC for this.
She just kinda gave me a look like this:
when I showed her the M11x LOL.
-
Depends on what you want. If you want a near-netbook sized device with great battery and the ability to play COD4 type games at playable framerates and do not mind paying the premium price- M11X is a great fit.
If you are an old school gaming rube like me, the CPU offerings are too weak. I prefer the i5 /330 at $950. A little bigger device, but still portable for trips and much better performance for all gaming- emulators and COD4 games.
Not to mention Blu-ray as well. -
Ah i order around 9Am
i was in the air on my way back from amsterdam so you beat me to it haha damn
. Well hopefully mine will change any minute what spec did you get?
Do you know if dell UK are offering 3G wireless on these? -
I stand corrected.
I just ordered the M11X without the SSD; and will be adding an Intel one in the near future.
-
which lappie are you referring? -
Heck, I am still tempted at getting one of these. It it is sooo pretty
-
Probably the Sony VPCCW27FX/B from Best Buy.
-
Seeing all the pics of the display, i must say it is really a complete mirror.
Totally unusable under light places. -

I'm not sure tbh. XD -
Anyone know how well the SU4100 overclocks? We know from the reviews they easily pushed the SU7300 to 1.6 and it only got 1 degree hotter but what about the SU4100? If it overclocks the same I would rather save 90$ then.
-
Ive got exact same spec as you except for the SSD.
Shame how we dont get the 3G would be a nice thing to have really, hopefully be modded at some point as there is obviously connections for it as the US version has it
.
We also need some Alienware M11X Gear to be out on the site
i want a nice new case backpack and everything to go with this badboy lol
-
Haha I reckon! For the mean time I'll get a laptop sleeve for it I think... The 'My Document' one from thinkgeek lol!
I guess I can always use my iPhone as a modem using tethering? -
Yer i thought about using my Iphone dunno how the O2 prices currently are for monthy tethering use. Do you currently have it?
-
Okay so I just woke up and processed a different order through Dell's EPP site. I got $144 off of my $949 order (they are not shipping Bluetooth anymore; I'm not sure if they ever were) and after tax and next-day shipping it came to $869. This is AWESOME
-
will the SU7300 cause bottleneck?....
will it lag if i open multiple programs like photoshop, word, excel, browser....why the hell they don't have the option for i5....zzz... -
Because an i5 will only give you 3-5hours of battery life with the Intel GPU and only 1-2hours with the 335m. If you want an i5 system go buy a 15" or higher. It has been posted the SU7300 can be easily overclocked to 1.6 and only gain 1 degree of temperature.

steveninspokane John 14:6 - Only ONE Way!
So this has no blue tooth now?
-
Either no bluetooth or it comes standard on everyone's.
-
Under the tech specs section of the M11x mini site, it still states bluetooth. I wonder what is going on? Waiting for confirmation on the bluetooth before I take the plunge.
-
No bluetooth! Sucks
I just bought a Razer Orichi bluetooth mouse for this laptop.
Anyone ordered one with bluetooth? -
I know someone who owns a UL80Vt with SU7300 who does :
PHP MySQL, CSS, XML, XHTML, Ajax, JavaScript, MXML, ActionScript 3.0, Photoshop
Does this satisfy your needs?
-
I haven't really thought of it that much. XD I'm with t mobile though and get unlimited net...
Any update on your M11x?
-
will this overclocked su7300 be sufficient to open multiple program...and the windows rating for the processor is 4.1...
-
If your buying this as a desktop replacement then you need to find another laptop. This is for people who already have fast CPU/GPU Laptops or Desktop's at home and need this for portability. Will it run Photoshop/500 tabs of firefox/Benchmark's at the same time? No. But it will do regular stuff just fine. Firefox, listening to music etc will all run fine together.
-
Has this been posted yet? Reallygood review.
http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews.php?reviewid=924&pageid=1
especially the "overclocking" part
-
Yes it was posted earlier.
My question though is will the SU4100 be able to overclock as well as the SU7300. -
I did but my order was cancelled - I did not have the option when re-ordering.
-
Hoping bt is now standard although yesterday it never showed the wireless n on the build but had bt. Today is opposite no bt but show wifi. Might have to add in later or get micro adapter for my orochi.
-
For those who need a warranty and don't want to deal with Dell / want a cheaper option. Square trade has a 30% off with BIGGAME allowing you to get a 3 year laptop warranty with accidental coverage for like 160$. If they can't fix your laptop within 5days they credit you the amount you paid for the laptop.
-
Aisuhime,
YES mine now also says "work in progress" lol so you beat me by a few hours
, ill be sitting on my front door step now next thursday
