Dell is confused on the SIM feature. I was told the sim plugs in the side of the M11x and the Gobi card is not needed for that function. Seems you would need the gobi card for the sim function to work.
The rep was certain he was correct, but seems like he is not.

Thats what happend with my order - It was cancelled due to the "Bluetooth" issue and I had to reorder . . . .SORRY
-
Had the same. I called this morning to remove the ssd; and I was told the order never web through.
Ordered through the main page; and this time I got an order confirmation rather than an ackowledgement. -

Hey guys, I since there are now owners.
I started a new Owners thread, we can continue the discussion here:

Probably right... although I would never really use a blu-ray, my add keeps me from watching too many movies, LOL... Also I used my 12 inch m1210 for a couple years as my main... Just normal schoolwork and MS office stuffs... If only there was the SL that the ENVY 13 uses!
-
I am probably going with the M11x, since mainly for portability / travel. My CW27FX is being delivered to BB on Thursday, so I will probably return it as soon as I get it.
Still not sure, but leaning about 70/30 in favor of the M11x. If I knew for sure- I wonder if the overclocking in the M11x reviewed by heaven is a final product, or will that feature be locked out in the bios? -
Hey man, you do need to re-order, I just checked and mine had the same problem, I never got a confirmed order, just acknowledged... that link didn't work properly, order never actually went through. I now have a confirmation after using the phone though. Try again!
Call this guy, and tell him Allen sent you, he'll hook you up, got mine fixed in a hurry and no delays:

People, be careful with the SU4100.
COD4 and other games and apps actually use the dual cores. I think a lot of people may be dissapointed with the SU4100.... just sayin'.
Older 32 bit apps will not see much difference, so MAME would probably perform the same. Not so with apps designed to leverage the cores available. -

Hmmm for $913 shipped and taxed to my door. SU7300, 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
The su4100 is a dual core too.....it just has 1mb less cache and not VT -
I thought that was a dual core too.
-
I need to get out more
Depending on what benchmarks, the average at best is 7% improvement with the 7300. I guess I will pay the 10% more for 7% improvement. MAME needs all the love it can get
-
It's only $90 more (epp) so I went with it. If anything, it helps resale value.
-
I've used the SU7300 on the Asus ul30vt; and thought it was a great processor. It was clocked at 1.7ghz tho. If I can do 1.6; I'll be happy.

The OCed Alienware will actually be almost exactly the same, it does a straight FSB OC to 1066 Mhz (so the speed of the ram) which leaves you with the processor at 1.66 Ghz. Looking at roughly 20% better performance than stock with pretty much no negative.
-
went back and checked. now the BT option is on the EPP site. i reordered to change mine anyways.

Let's hope this doesn't turn into the Dell Zino fiasco where everyone's orders are delayed by 2months.
-
Well they are already freaking a month out. I can't imagine them needing more than the already estimated time. When I was making my order over the phone the lady did a double take at the estimated shipping date. I LOLed.
-
How does the EPP discount work. Do you need to provide any info?
-
Quick question on your reorder above me. How hard is it to cancel an order? Do you need to speak to a rep or what? Thinking about doing that for bt and having 2nd thoughts on ssd. Could get an iPod on the side lol
also I used dpa but no 3% off what's the method of getting this? -
Yeah my Dell rep said he put an internal request to have my order expedited so hopefully it gets manufactured sooner.
-
Anyone know how to apply the EPP and student discount together?
-
I think at check out you need to provide the name of the school and your student id (if you using for the school discount). If you are trying to use it through your work, you'd probably have to ask your employer or something. You also have to go through the member purchase program site to get the discount.
-
EPP and school discount is the same thing.

How so cheap? Is that with tax? Mine before tax is $957.10 and only difference is I am getting the 500gb hard drive option. -
theneighborrkid Notebook Evangelist
I also would like to know this, i have 10% off student plus $50 off coupon and mine without bluetooth was $913 -
Eggs Scrambled Notebook Evangelist
oh my lord dont try to cancel a successful order, its unimaginably hard, I'm more than a half an hour in on dell chat after getting shuffled around and hung up on by phone.
-
You gotta talk to a person, I used the online chat method and it was no problem. Another roughly $30 off, plus discounted overnight shipping ($8) plus all the other discounts. Almost $200 in discounts.
Personally, I think it is worth it to cancel for the internal BT, and really the SSD is very expensive, it seems like a fair enough price considering current SSD prices, but I really feel the price/payoff ratio is too low right now. I just went with the smallest 7200 RPM drive, and I think it will be fine. All a faster HDD does it decrease initial loads, but once in a game or program it is in the ram anyway, especially if you run no-pagefile as I almost always do, the SSD isn't going to provide any performance gains. Still, if the SSD was perhaps half its current price I would love to have it, longer battery life (supposedly) and no moving parts. -
Sounds good.
A part of me wants to wait for a refresh though, it makes sense for them to add an iX processor to this thing. Only question is when. -
Great. They just added Blutooth in for $19. Too much of a hassle to call and change/cancel.
I'll just have to use my Razer Orochi in wired. -
Eggs Scrambled Notebook Evangelist
by the way my final purchase price was $741 I must be the one who paid the least for this guy here.
-
Well the 500 gig is like $90 more than what I got, but I got the $20 BT, so that is $70 of the difference right there.
Then I stacked 3% Dell Preffered Account, $50 coupon, 10% student discount, and discounted overnight shipping to get that price. It was a phone order so I didn't see how each component effected the order, but that is what it says on my confirmation so I am happy.
Be a lot happier if it ships before 3/3/2010. -
Thank you. I still may keep it got it for a good price total I'm paying 1230 with ssd as seen in sig but I def want bt. Think they would add it to my order rather than cancel?
-
Which coupons did you use?
-
Yep, the hard drive is the difference (duh, on me) and I got the BT as well. I prefer having the extra space, so it is all good
I called and asked that the DPA discount of 3% be added, since I did use my DPA for the order. -
Who knows, but now is the time to roll on that, you can still get a March 3rd ship date (that is what I just got for mine) and get the internal BT. Even if they have to cancel and re-order it shouldn't be that bad.
-
You get the SU4100? Or how did you get it cheaper?
-
Yeah guess ill call when I get home since I'm at work on iPod touch. I need to get 3% off too. Thanks for input will post what happens
-
Do you guys think it's worth it to pick this thing up now or wait for an iX processor?
I really only see myself playing Starcraft II, Diablo III, CS:S, and Dragon Age on it. -
Bluetooth ftl! :-(
-
I'd cancel and reorder with BT and a regular HD, then get a 160gb Intel for 400 on Ebay
It's much better HD! I'd imagine though if they don't include BT we will be able to order the module separately and just put it in ourselves. Gonna be a lot of pissed off people if it doesn't come with BT after it said on the website it comes with it and there was no option to remove it.
-
I'll just buy the molecule and install it myself. Too much of a hassle to cancel especially when Dell already charged my card for $930 when the damn thing hasn't even shipped.
-
Yep, I am asking for the 3% too, since would knock me down $30 total. Total before tax and 3% (I hope) DPA discount is $957.10, plus free next day delivery.
