They have plenty of fine print on all those websites explaining they can cancel anything at anytime for any reason and theres nothing that can be done about it .

Thanks Alexrose1uk for the advice, I think I'm lucky because I just order one but they cancel it due to some problem in my VISA card,

I'm considering your advice for the X9100 but I have some concern:
is it going to work with my system or i have to change the motherboard?
how is the performance of X9100 comparing to the Q9000 that i already have? is it worth it
if I overclocked my Q9000 to 2.5 it will better than X9100 or not?

    Plz advice,

3Dmark scores you higher on the CPU for using quads BECAUSE it is optimised for them and awards points to tehm, most games are not, and in the vast majority, a dual core at 3.1 will be quite a bit faster than quad a 2Ghz, or even 2.5Ghz.

At the same clocks they'll be about identical performance in the majority of games (the quad perhaps being slightly, and I mean slightly faster, as it can offset background tasks), but a QX will have a lot of trouble keeping up with the performance of a good clocked x9100 in the majority of games.

Allright, don't know if this helps, but here is a convo I had today with an HP rep...

T: Thank you for your interest in HP Part Store Live Chat. How can I help you?

    you: Hello T.

you: I am actually writing to inquire about whether or a not a specific part is available for individual order.

you: Part number 507946-001 to be precise.

    T: Let me see

T: That part is currently in back order

    you: Ah.

you: When it isn't on back order is it orderable as a single part?

you: Or is it only acquireable as a replacement?

T: Yes, you can order it as a single part

    you: Ah. Brilliant.

you: What is the estimated time until it is restocked, if you can tell me that?

T: checked in the system and there is no update for an actual Estimated Time of Arrival to the warehouse. That means it takes approximately 2-4 weeks for the part to be shipped out once the order is placed

you: Ah- so if I placed an order in the next week or so, I should 'hopefully' have it by the end of the month?

    T: Yes,

    you: Ah!

    you: Brilliant.

So am going to try to order one this week and see what happens. If anyone else finally did get theirs, would be great to know.

    Good luck folks!

update on going to the place. that is a negative. called them up, told them i lived near that area. they repeatedly said it wasn't a dropoff/pickup type of facility. everything is handled through the mail. im guessing the same type of situation with alienwares facility in florida.
o well, i tried guys.

When the M1730 pricing error hit it lasted about 5 days. People started calling them the 4th and 5th day into it. Died shortly after.

I think Scook already called them anyway about the QX9300.

Ahhh....okay, that was why I did it- I had seen the earlier thread with his convo with one of the reps and just wanted to let people know they were still planning on shipping.

My apologies to everyone if it does die soon after. :(

We'll see. This is not on Fatwallet or Slick deals like the M1730 was so it may last awhile. BTW I'm upset I didn't buy more than 1 of those M1730s. I'll probably be upset I didn't buy more than one of these.

Unless you plan on using the OCZ BIOS to OC that QX9300, I'd also get the X9100. My QS QX9300 runs at 3.2Ghz all day long. But like I said, you've got to flash the OCZ BIOS to do that. Yes, the stuttering happens. It's few and far between though.

yeah. the x9100 is so much better mandrake. don't even put it in your notebook. i mean it worth less.

matter fact put it in and see how high you can get. if you hit 3.07 or higher stable then just wrap it back up and send it to me. don't worry about benchmarks or anything like that. your dual hit 3.6ghz isn't that enough????

    LMAO

I'm more curious about the soon to be release ATI cards and which proc will work better with them. I think I'll be testing for a while.

    Maybe I'll do a "M17x-x9100 vs QX9300" thread when I get it.

Mandrake and I are still curious to see how a P9600/9800 would oc due to the lower power requirments.
