    Hi James,

The method above is the best way of getting online discount. the rep email is another way. never the twain shall meet i'm afraid! The dell quote is offered solely offline. without an e-value code, you couldnt use it on the website. So its a case of going with whatever quote is best! if the online method is cheaper than the rep, than go online. Baring in mind the cashback can take 60 days to arrive! so be prepared to pay the slightly higher cost while you wait for the cashback!

Good luck! You'll love owning an alienware!

evil the thing is the email quote i recieved is what the laptop price should of been on the internet it was not my fault that their online system is not allowing the code to work with the sale item.

might ring again today and talk to a higher up sales advisor, thanks james

You can also get a 10% discount if you register with dell, but it isnt stackable. :(

No worries James, having spoken with reps the best prices do seem to be online using that cashback, e-value, discount route. as they cant match that extra 10.1% top up!

Karan, yeah, its weird that! on alienware they state a 10% discount voucher. yet the 15% dell one works anyway! So best to ignore the 10% one! They also email you a 10% voucher if you leave a system in your basket. but again, you get a better deal running through the method i listed on the last page!

As a brucey bonus, i also threatened to return my machine, and they gave me 10% refund to keep it! another trick to try if you're feeling brave! Also helped that cashback was 15.1% when i got mine too! :)

the updated prices on dmxdimension now include the 10% off dell voucher, unfortunately this doesnt stack with the 15% off dell voucher. so basically the prices atm are the same eg 999£ for m14x and 1299£ for m17x and you can use the 15% off voucher and free delivery.

in regard to topcashback ? i have 2 questions what price does it give 10% is it before u put the 15% DISCOUNT on the dell website or after and also dos it include that vat price or not.

because this will determine my decision to go and use codes all the way or accept the offer from the dell rep

as a follow up is the 3d screen worth it as it is almost 180 pounds more.

    thanks

Don't know about the cashback question but I would say the 3d screen is worth it, simply for the refresh rate of 120hz. I'm not a 3d fan but if you like that kinda thing, its a great feature to have at the outset. Also, if you do go 3d now, it will work out ALOT cheaper than trying to upgrade the screen aftermarket.

Cashback is 10% of the pre VAT rate. thats AFTER the discount.

Why not get an e-value code with 3d screen built in?

Without a shadow of a doubt, yes - for the 580m. Depends on how much you will watch blu rays on a small screen though as to how much use you will get from the internal bluray player.

ok guys, bad times. The 15% vouchers have finished it seems. we're down to 10% with free delivery.

    NS2JV1DP30C$WK - 10% off til 18th jan

    JW2T$56GB3ZG0R - Free delivery til 18th jan.

And remember to process the order correctly to get the best discount!

    1) find the model you want on dmxdimension.co.uk. get the e-value code.
    2) register with topcashback and use the dell links to click through to alienware. (this will track your 10.1% cashback)
    3) enter the e-value code in the search box on the dell website. configure your system, and add to basket!
    4) enter the vouchers above for added discount!
    5) pay for the machine, get it in a few days, then wait a few weeks to get your cashback!

You'll be happily suprised with the price you can get an alienware M14x or M17x for! sadly the M18x isnt discounted much to begin with!

    Good luck!

All good things come to an end I guess. Still, any saving is a good one considering that Dell really dont need to discount these systems for them to sell.

They do this promotion from time to time - its always been 5% for me so god knows who gets a 50% one !

If anyone wants to go the direct route of dealing with my rep, feel free to hit me up.

yeah, 50% always ends up being some rubbish printer. you only ever get 5% against system! Still, better than a kick in the teeth i guess!

ok, spoke to "the rep" that me and stevie chat with. Lovely fella he is!

He said he has some vouchers that he can use that arent online. he cant promise 15%, but he reckons he might be able to sneak a few through if people want to send the details to Stevie or me, and we can send them on. As a reminder, we're not allowed to post his name on here, which is why we ask for details. Its Steve's rep, i just happen to know him through the business i work for as well!

At the end of the day, if you dont ask, you dont get!

    Cheers!

Well, my first £85.42 back from topcashback a few days ago. and the 2nd (where they messed up, giving me 10% not 15% as offered, then getting their maths wrong and over compensating) payment of £69.86 is confirmed, but not yet paid!

Gotta love the cashback sites to get that extra bit off stuff!

What you guys dont realise is that if you speak to one rep and get a quote, any rep that you deal with after can see that. If you do this too many times, the reps will just laugh at you and take you for a timewaster - which menas they wont even bother to offer you a good deal because you have already shown a track record of "too much shopping about"

You could try my rep again, but the reps wont fight each other to give you a lower price.

    People.

Xmas has ended.. no vouchers this week bar free delivery. So the best route for discount is indeed "the rep". Feel free to try your own. But steve and i have built a good rapport with this dell rep. So feel free to PM either one of us and we'll pass the details on to the rep to contact you.

As always, i'll keep an eye out for discounts and post what i find. Please post any vouchers that work! i've tested quite a few "10%" vouchers today, and none are working on alienware, but are working on XPS.

In a nutshell...yes and then no.

Always get the best display you can at time of purchase as it will cost far more later on to upgrade. If you go 1600, you obvioulsy wont get full HD and alltogether, it wont be as good as experience as a full 1920x1080 screen due to resolution/pixels ratio.

I looked at Dell vouchers a while back and last time I tried to apply a coupon, it didnt work. afaik, they only work on new system purchases.

As I'm pretty new...how often do they release 10/15% coupons? Is it only a special christmas/new year thing or do they do it every so often?

I'm guessing the rep would be the route to go now, gonna make a purchase at the beginning of March time I reckon.

Well, the situation changes every week. So keep an eye on the forum as we post vouchers as often as we find them! And if no vouchers are available, then go for the rep!

Shame the 10% refund trick didnt work. sometimes doesn, sometimes doesnt. luck of the draw i guess!

Oh, and my £155 cashback on my £1030 system FINALLY got cleared! So thats a final outlay of £750 for my £1344 M14x. i did extremely well, and there was definate luck on my side!!

yup, its all change in the world of discount. gone from 10% off, free delivery, and 15.1% cashback in november, to free delivery and 5% cashback.

And the reps will still have their hands tied! That said, they'll give you the best price they can! all you can do is tell them you have X to spend, and you cant go above that. if they cant meet you, then you'll have to take the money elsewhere.

Dont forget tho, reps talk to each other! so no point playing them off against each other!

Also, there's always the outlet to look at? Or be realistic about the spec you want. do you need that SSD? or 16gb ram? sometimes being realistic about your system can save quite a bit! and you can upgrade some things later!
