I spent an hour earlier trying to drive down the prices of the new systems on the phone and live chat. I spoke to 4 different reps and a line manager. I tried every trick in the book and there was no movement on the 18" range at ALL after the 7% and free delivery. Disappointed.

Our mutual friend just came through for me again - got 25% off when extending my warranty which was about to expire.
He then went on to try and tempt me with a new model damn him

Hahaha - he strikes again!! LOL - nice one, Bro. Good work!
-
My 5th order through "the contact" has yielded some decent results.
AW18 - i7-4700, 780m SLI, 16GB RAM, 750gb + 64GB Cache HDD, 2 year warranty. The list prices comes in at over £3000, I got it for £2450.
Now just to add my SSD's when it arrives

WooHoo! - yet another top deal from the 'man who can' hahahahaha. Great price, bud. Well done.
-
I'd love to know this man
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Well, I can introduce you to him if you want to send me a private message with your details... (see the opening post) -
Are the discounted Alienware laptops purchased via the middle man any different to the ones purchased via the official web site? I.e. Build quality, reliability, performance and no prejudice while being built etc?
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Absolutely not. Orders are placed in the exact same fashion as if you had called up and spoke to any other Dell rep. The only difference is that my guy goes the extra mile to try and get you the best price he possibly can.
I've kinda built up this 'relationship' with him over the years, and as he knows that NBR has a very strong Alienware following, he knows that anyone referred to him from this thread is looking for the best deal, so he does his very best. -
Can this contact get a better deal with Latitude systems as well? I'm eyeing up the new Latitude E6540.
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Yup. Any Dell system, from Inspirons all the the way up to business grade servers. -
I can attest to this ! He's a good guy and will do what ever he can to try and get you the best deal , I even ended up getting a Dell business account so may look at the new 14" for my kid lol... (he loves the alienfx on mine)
-
I could use as much help as possible to get Dells price down. Its a shame the price diff between the US and the UK market!!!
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Well, once you have your post count up, you will be able to send me a private message and we can try and sort you out with some tasty discount  -
Just send u a PM
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Received and replied. Let the "money saving" commence!
-
Excellent, I'll send you a PM as soon as I get the featured enabled.
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
No problem, you're probably almost there
-
So, prices between US, UK and DK
Core i7-4700MQ
nVIDIA GTX 780M
16 GB RAM, 750 GB HDD
FHD Panel
17990 DKK = 2046 POUNDS = 3219 USD ---> DK Price
17098 DKK = 1949 POUNDS = 3059 USD ---> UK Price
12320 DKK = 1400 POUNDS = 2199 USD ---> US Price
So can you steviejones133 give me a deal as good as US?
Or should I wait for HIDEvolution to offer r5?
ps. I bet US people get an offer even better than 2199 USD
Forgot to say, HIDEvolution will have quotes in 2-3 days
ps. It seems that even if I have 6 posts.. I can't PM anyone..
Best regards,
Ciprian B. -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Well, the spec you want is £1,948.99 on the UK website, so roughly $3,060usd. If I'm right, the same build is $2,199. There's no way that my chap could match that at £1400. He's good, but he's not that good. Unfortunately, we in the UK pay exorbitant prices, so what might be a good deal here is not the same as the US.
There's nothing we can do about it.....plus even if my chap did get close, you then have additional shipping charges, so I'd probably say he can't help you, to save your time and his. -
Thank you for you answer. I will try HIDEvolution or get a ugly MSI GT70
(same config is here in DK @ 1400 pounds (12000 dkk))
Best regards,
Ciprian B. -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
I'm just sorry that I can't help. Competing with US prices from within the UK is a futile exercise. Good luck whichever way you go....
-
Done, I'll look out for an email from Dell.
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
PM received and replied. Expect contact from the mothership in due course.

Steve ~ Have you had a word with our friend in regards to the 780's as of yet ? or they parting with them ?
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
I've not tackled the subject with him, to be honest. If it's anything like the 680m's, they won't be available separately for quite some time. Even then, trying to get a 680m from Dell was pretty hard.... -
Hai there!
I am fairly new in this website, and the reason I stumbled upon this thread is because I believe like others are trying to cut down the price of purchase of the Laptop itself..
I'm looking on the M14x model.. and as of today it'll cost me roughly £850.. My bestfriend is using this model and myself a MacBook Pro and of course to compare gaming between Alienware and Apple is incomparable.. But the real reason I am getting this M14x is actually for my boyfriend who had recently crashed his laptop and I find Alienware would live up to his needs of use for his laptop.. It's just that I'd like to find a loop hole in buying a unit cheaper than the one I am looking at now..
Any help would be much appreciated! -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Hiya jehanahej,
Sure thing. Once you have made enough posts, you can send me a private message and we'll see if my rep can help you out with your plans for the Alienware 14. -
I noticed that this thread is for UK AW, but in the first post also mention about non US
So is it possible someone help me buy AW 18?
if this thread is for UK only, could someone give me the link about AW for non US citizen (that thread in first post already dead) -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Well, my chap can help with most orders, regardless of location. The sticking point is that the order needs to be shipped to a UK address - that can be a friend or relative, or it can be a freight forwarder who are based in the UK and can forward your machine to your Country. I neither of those options suit you, it's possible to use the NBR thread below - it states US and Canada, but the rep's on their can handle/forward enquiries to the relevant people to help you out.

Is it possible to receive any kind of discount in countries like Denmark?
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Well, this thread is about discounts on UK prices - people can buy from the UK from other countries if their own is more expensive. As mentioned above, a UK address is required to place the order, that can be friends or family or a forwarding company. Bottom line is yes, you can buy UK goods from Denmark with this in mind.
Hope that helps! -
Can vouch for what steviejones133 is saying. Helped me out and im from Estonia
-
Alright
I guess I just have to get more posts to get in touch with stevie

Just some information for forum user that do not live in the UK but want to order from UK dell. Have a photocopy of your passport and bank statement(They might ask you to get it for the order aknowledgment they send tp your bank but some banks do not show statements until the money has been sent, so just a statement of any transaction that shows your billing address and account/card nr is sufficient ). Also if have it shipped to a UK address and you use your friends/relatives ect. name on that. Let them know in advance so if anyone at that address has to pick up the phone they know that you have placed the order
I talked to the person who i sent it to but he forgot to tell his father about it.
I got two "final cancellation" email as had a national holiday (banks closed) and was not able to send the needed information and also thanks to a much sililar name of my relative and his father.Dell got the idea that the person did not know anything about any order lol
Just finished the saga today and was told that the notebook is cleared for processing and then shipping. Tought might let you non UK residents know

Friendly bump with some rather important news. If there is anyone wanting help purchasing a discounted M18x R2, now's the time. Pretty soon, it WILL be marked as EOL or 'End of Life" - got that information for my contacts, so if any of you guys are deliberating over a new 18 or old R2, you better get your skates on....their ain't gonna be any left VERY soon. Last chance saloon to grab an 'old skool' Alien before they are extinct....well, at least from Dell they will be!
Just thought you guys would like to know.... -
i feel like i have really been dicked around on this issue. first im told by everyone that its available. i ask each specific rep if he can get it to me. then everyone ends up wasting my time, giving me this EOL bull and then tries to sell me the m18!!!! obviously they want commission on the higher price item more but i tell them at start of each convo that id rather get ebay refurrb than m18....yet they all waste my time!!!!
urgh. ive already tried 3 diff dell reps. all of whom end up failing at some point. one doesnt want to give EPP discount....other one says i shouldnt even bother waiting for the first guy whilst he goes to approve 10 percent discount because im entitled to it no questions asked...then tells me theres some ordering issue etc...
has anyone actually been able to ordwer the m18x r2 now? its like its presence on the website is a massive tease. mightt try and call again with diff one on phone this time... -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Firstly, don't listen to what the rep's tell you - it's not always gospel truth. The R2 is STILL available. It's still configurable on the UK website here: The Dell Online Store: Build Your System - if a rep tells you different, just give 'em the link and they will soon shut up LOL.
I know my rep has arranged some R2's recently. No trouble. Discount depends on what spec you want, but trust me - Dell want to shift these, so you should be able to get a good deal.
Have you spoken to my rep recently, mate? -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Just posted this over on another thread - might be of interest for some of you guys:
-
yep. we tried thursday however i think he was busy (i can only really talk for 2*1 hour slots during day due to work & long under ground commute and try do things by email) ...eventually he got one of his colleagues to call me back instead...and i had to go through the spec again with him and he would only be able to do 7percent discount. i told him that i can get 7percent from any voucher website (especially since i hate ordering over phone ) and that all i want is the standard 10percent dell epp one which i think u need to do by phone. he said hed need manager approval and would call me back. a dell epp rep said that he shouldnt even need to ask anyone (your reps' colleague) and its standard. he tries to spec the machine then gets some kind of internal error and cant issue quote (tbf i also generated some errors once or twice whilst trying to spec it...but managed to get it to work)...he doesnt get back about it....3rd rep who i contact by chat asking how to get the code to work ttells me that m18x r2 is def not available and that marketing team will get on fixing this issue asap. first 2 dell reps specifically said its available in factory. tbh diff between 7 and 10 percent is small..but considering they were quoting end of july delivery date (and im leaving country mid august for holiday), at that point ebay seems better choice...ah well...gonna keep trying lol.
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
I'll give him a nudge for you, mate - see if he can't handle this one personally for you, eh?
-
aah...from our conversation i know feel like ive been too harsh on your guy (got impression he thought i was unhappy with him). just to clear things up for people - i nearly purchased a machine 3 weeks ago however at too late a point i applied for Dell consumer credit (realised no point paying all 1800 in one go) and was denied. then the credit card app with my bank was approved but it took 10 days for the cards to arrive. after which the old machines were gone. now theyre back but theres a bit of confusion - totally understandable. part of problem ordering at last minute
ah well. the real last minute date is october when RTW2 comes out. -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Well, having checked the UK web site this morning, the M18x R2 is no longer available to order. It may well have now gone EOL. I'll see if I can find out from my man....
-
Ive already ordered my AW17 on the 14th and got the 7% plus free delivery and £20 off the Vindicator Backpack but my build only has the GTX 770M and im really tempted to cancel and reorder with the 780 instead but im way overbudget already. The only problem is putting another £150 on top of my current build price isnt going to go down well with the wife at all! Do you think its worth speaking to your guy to see if he can help? I tried my own rep but he wouldn't budge on price.
Thanks in advance -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Certainly worth a look-see. If you can get discount up to the 10% mark or above, that should help out with covering the £150 upgrade cost. If you want to see if it's possible, PM me with your name, email address and phone number and rough spec. that you want - I'll forward it along to see if he can help.
Saving £££ in the UK buying ANY Dell/AW system OR accessories - please contribute!
