Hi all, i bought a M9750 on the 21st of last month, after a few days it went to Phase 4 and has been like that up until yesterday when it went back to Phase 3, is that a good sign?
Thanks
-
Yes that's defintely a good sign. It means things are moving on your order and you will probably find after a couple of hours your order will have moved to phase 5. It's exactly what happend on my order
-
Oh yea, nice one. It's Phase 5 now, any idea how long it will roughly take till its complete?
-
Well once my order hit phase 5 I received my M9750 within a week so you shouldn't have much longer to wait.
-
Thats great news. Thanks
-
A little tip for all Irish customers out there.
I ordered my M9750 there 2 days ago, yesterday i went into the bank and wire transfered the payment straight into alienwares account. Today i am no longer on phase1, i am on Phase 4
The reasons for this is because Alienwares Account is with AIB Bank, which is also my personal Bank. The wire transfer only took 24hours to process. -
I ordered a couple of days now
and its still phase one
also, i get everything sent in french
I CANT speak french :s :s -
Ring them up and tell them Dendreizien. They probably assume you can speak french from your location. They obviously dont have a flemish language option
-
idd
i'll call first thing in the mornin' -
Very nice girl i got there
Helped me very well
she gets an A+ for Call support
but now i'm still in phase 1 ... -
ive been stuck in phase 2 for like a week now. does it usually take this long?
-
here's a link of another review of the M9750 with awesome Hi-res pics....Enjoy
http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/alienware_area-51_m9750/ -
I went from phase 1 to phase 4 in the second day.
All depends in the way your paying for the laptop.
How its confirmed, how fast alienware get their money etc. -
i payed with credit card
and finaly with wire transfer
I thought paying with visa was much easier
*kuch* -
Called with ALienware today, at least it takes 14 days more to deliver...
my system
ALMOST 2 MONTH'S !!!
Problem, no TV tuner's at stock, and also CD with lightscribe, not on stock
factory has problems with delivery, there is no date set to deliver (Lightscribe CD)
if you order a blu-ray, 30 days delay he told me
i have been talking with a supervisor about half a hour.
i have paid with a creditcard (Mastercard-Companycard) fast payment no problems at all -
very nice review i love how they talk about the 8 series as ppl think it wil be alot better then 7950 gtx read what they say/////
When reading that statement, you may wonder why we said this: clearly the GeForce 8M series, particularly the GeForce Go 8700M GT, is newer and faster right? While it’s true that the new GeForce 8M series GPUs are newer and support DirectX 10 shaders, these GPUs, like their counterparts on the desktop, are mainstream GPUs and lack the shading horsepower and memory bandwidth of NVIDIA’s high-end GeForce 8800 GPUs, which are so famously powerful right now.
For instance, NVIDIA’s fastest GeForce 8M GPU, the GeForce Go 8700M GT boasts a texture fill-rate of 10 billion pixels second. In comparison, the GeForce Go 7950 GTX tops out at 13.8 billion pixels/sec. In addition, the GeForce Go 8700M GT lacks the memory subsystem to really drive today’s latest games at resolutions of 1920x1200, which is the native resolution of the Area-51 m9750’s 17” LCD panel. With just a 128-bit memory interface, peak memory bandwidth of the GeForce Go 8700M is 25.6GB. The GeForce Go 7950 GTX has nearly twice the bandwidth at 44.8GB/sec.
What this means is as you begin to turn on eye candy features like anti-aliasing, which really eats up the GPU’s memory bandwidth, performance of the GeForce Go 8700M GT begins to suffer in comparison to the GeForce Go 7950 GTX, especially as you also increase the screen resolution. As a result, even in DirectX 10 games like the latest build of Company of Heroes or Lost Planet, the GeForce Go 7950 GTX actually delivers better performance, despite its use of older SM 3.0 shaders.
Alienware offers the Area-51 m9750 exclusively with the GeForce Go 7950 GTX: you couldn’t even order the system with a GeForce Go 8M GPU if you wanted. If you want even more performance, the system can be ordered with two GeForce Go 7950 GTX GPUs for SLI. This gives you up to 1GB of memory available and nearly 100GB/sec of peak memory bandwidth for graphics. -
didnt you got to sent those utility bills and so on?
-
I wouldnt order anything that delayed my computer past 1.5 or 2 months total. I mean, they shouldnt offer things that make it over 2 months to get an ordered and paid for laptop. They will have a new laptop by the time you get the one you ordered. There should be a limit on how long they allow themselves to build and send an ordered computer.
-
ARRRGGHH!! dont tell me that! I ordered lightscribe as well!
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!
Thats not fair! -
you can change your order when its not in phase 4
-
I've been in phase 4 since i paid.
And i dont really want to change my order anyways.
Doesn't mean i cant get pissed though
-
For the record, I have now - with no notice or explanation - been moved from Phase 4 to Phase 3!!!
Ive been in phase 4 since the day after I ordered. I ordered on the 1st.
I could only get ahold of the live chat and they basically told me I cant find out anything till Monday - and so I asked her how I would go about cancelling my order if I decide to do so - again, I cant do anything till Monday. I asked her what exactly she DOES help people with here - and she just said "general product questions". It seems they have a website for that!
So Ive been downgraded a phase and I have no idea why. -
Moving down a phase usually means you will move up a phase very soon.
Don't know why they toy with you, just what I've seen here. -
i think its something in the website that messes up your phrase.
cause i remember downgrading to lower phase then like later on in the day jumping way higher then the phrase i originally was in.
Just remember wait and good things come
But yeah it's annoying having to deal with problems like that not like there gonna answer back correctly when we ask them something.
but hope things go good for you. -
Thanks. I really cant believe how impatient Ive gotten. -
Moving down a phase is definitely a good thing. I bet come Monday you'll be on phase 5 or possibly phase 6. Its what happend on my order and I got my M9750 in less than a week after that
-
You give us all hope
-
Hi all, i'm wondering if you can help me. I got my m9750 yesterday (YAY!) and thought i would install and run 3DMark06, after running the first set of graphics tests (running around 30 odd fps and down to around 10fps in some places) it went on to run the CPU tests, it ran terribly and was doing 0fps and it took ages to get to about the 150th frame and my laptop switched itself off. I haven't changed any settings after installing it and i'm worried that there maybe something wrong. Can anyone help me and put my mind at ease?
Thanks -
Hmmmm, Whats your specs anyways? plus the 3dmark06 test will give you like 0 fps in cpu tests its what it suppose to do. not sure about the turn off problem.
-
heat problem?
-
My specs are

I've ran it another few times since and it didn't turn of the machine, but i am getting different results. the results that i get in the report that come with the laptop are as below
3DMark 2006
Customer Information:
3DMark Score: 6,220.00 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score: 2,604.00
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 2,707.00
CPU Score: 1,833.00
but when i run the tests myself i get
3DMark 2006
Customer Information:
3DMark Score: 5,234.00 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score: 2,188.00
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 2,126.00
CPU Score: 1,794.00
Can anyone shed any light on if this is normal?
Thanks -
its normal,i guess you use vista?
-
hmm seems normal to me i'm pretty sure on windows xp you would have alot higher score. cause i got less specs then you and get like 6,000+ on xp. people are getting low scores using vista with sli and are only getting like 5,000 also . all seems normal.
-
I have Vista 32 on my 9750 and my 3DMark06 score (single GPU) is about the same (~5200). The CPU tests run extremely slow-between 0 and 1 fps-but this is normal. I think that the CPU is used to do the frame rendering instead of the GPU for these tests and that is why it runs so much slower (someone correct me on that if I am wrong).

I have had my m9750 for about three days now and have been really loving it until it had a couple of weird crashes today. The first time the screen scrambled and then froze up...I had to do a hard reset on it. It crashed almost immediately a second time although this time after booting the screen just went black and stayed that way. I let it sit for awhile and this time it booted up fine. After booting there was a boot fail screen with a BCCode.
I took a look at the system event files and found this:
Description:
The driver nv4_disp for the display device \Device\Video0 got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates.
and this:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000ea (0x817eaaf0, 0x863bdec0, 0x860c16a8, 0x00000001). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini081807-01.dmp.
Anybody seen or experienced a problem like this before? -
Kind of off topic from some of the problems that are occurring, but I have a question about the bluetooth. If I were to get a bluetooth mouse, do I need to use the "dongle" or would the bluetooth already on board take care of that. Essentially, can I just bring a bluetooth mouse within the vicinity and it's ready to go?
I also need a good bluetooth mouse, any suggestions. Preferably one that matches the laptop (i.e. black) -
Reinstall your drivers.
@Nella 5200 on 3Mark06 is a perfectly normal score for a single 7950GTX. -
Thanks guys, really appreciate it.
-
Another question, is there a way to setup dual boot onto the machine if vista is loaded already and i want to put XP on there aswell?
-
I reinstalled the drivers and reseated the graphics card with no success. The notebook has crashed multiple times on me this weekend.
What a letdown after a 6.5 week wait for it in the first place........... -
You still in the warrenty time period? Just send it back ask for a new one
-
I doubt that anyone has had their m9750 for over a year lol, but bad to hear that news kavoth, just call Alienware and ask them about the problem, AW might twinge on you for reseating the GPU without any notification but that shouldn't really be a problem.
-
Does anyone have an idea?
-
i`d like to ask the owners how many fps do they get in cs 1.6 ; cs:Source with SINGLE gpu?
-
Can Everbody makes High-res Pictures for me? and send it at my emailadress?
-> [email protected]
Thanks! -
um, not to be all paranoid...but why do you need these pictures?
-
Hello,
No, i`m Buy an 9750 in 30days, but i look for Pictures at first, please send me any. -
The Pics are old, have you new Pics ?
So, i have ordered 1x 9750. How long does its to that they go from Phase 1 to 2 ? -
I talked to Alienware this morning about my computer going from phase 4 to 3 last Friday. she said the online info for order status doesnt work as well as just calling them and asking. She said my computer is actually in phase 5 and by tonight should move to phase 6.
She suggested calling for good info on this.
For the record, most seem to go to phase 4 within a few days, then stay there for a while. and thats what mine did.
