All the best Gamblor !!

Cheers Shamneo. The shipping date says 17/3, but ill believe that when i see it sitting on my desk! Like Gamblor77 i spend many days/nights/weeks/months at sea, so i need something like this to keep my sanity!
-
-
Yeah, we have a website down here. I think the Laptop is built here, so it doesn't have to be shipped to far. I'm hoping its less than a month aswell! I work on the rigs around S.E. Asia, so sometimes theres nothing to do for weeks on end. Yeah,

For those who know, do you realize the benefits of the SoundBlaster card only if it's hooked up to external speakers or headphones?

The "lonely nights at sea" line was actually just an obscure Simpsons quote, I guess I was just being a dork.
I was just trying to explain how insane I'm going waiting for the frikin thing, 44 DAYS!!. I mean, COME ON!!!
For those of you who actually ARE on ships right now, I can't even imagine how bad the wait is for you. I feel your pain! lol.
P.S - I still haven't received a shipping confirmation or number yet, if I hear from them today I'll post back.
cheers.

I never went to 8. I went from 7 to 6 on friday I think and then I went to shipping.
-
grats maguai!!!!! When you ordered your notebook when did they say the estimated ship date was? Was that date somewhat accurate to when you got it?
-
[email protected] Notebook Consultant
Well mine was a little different because I ordered it from the corporate department, so I actually had people that knew what they were talking about... The same people everytime. I am almost positive my ship was end of Feb so that is pretty much right on.
-
you guys are making me so jealous >.<!! I think I might just have to go with the silver.
-

yeah, I was also waiting for black ripley. Having silver I think is pretty good and actually probably the better choice for me since I use all-white light. All-white light on the black computer wouldn't look very good, however if you got a solid colour (e.g. all red) then that would probably be better in black.
really though, either way, you can't go wrong -
nice config. Are you not a hardcore games? I'm just wondering cause I see you got the 8700GT
-
( Play World IN Conflict) also for Photoshop and Maya with Motion Builder since im not a Mac Fan and Alienware FTW!!
i was suppose to order the m9750 but the M15x looks cooler and has a faster processor with great battery life (for a gaming laptop)
-
BTW here is my config if it ever arrives (In hindsight I probably shouldn't have gone with the 4 gigs of RAM or a few other things cause I could buy it for 1/3 price somewhere else but what can ya do?). I went all out.

-
-
-
agreed
i mean come on, check out this avatar pic ..
<------ -
idk... i like the black/acid green look. Or black and ice blue. Matches my mouse.
-
Yes indeedy.. Black + Green, Black + Blue, Black + Red, Black + *Insert colour* = Uber cool in my books !! Hehe..
I'd love for it to match my phone too, Sony Ericsson W850i.. Guess which colour.. Black and Orange
Plus the AW head and screen light tube would look better too.. Check out tht photobucket video of the laptop in the dark.. http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/j...t=MOV00064.flv
Looks like a black AW with it's lights on.. Awe and then some !! -
but when, when does this damn black ripley come out!?
btw, in europe you have to wait over a month to receive one of this notebook! pretty much! what do you think? -
Is that including all the phases or after shipping ?
Right now the estimated shipping date in US is 26th March.. Almost a month.. -
here it is 27-28 march, shipping estimation date, it does not include the time of the ship.
shipping date is so from about 2 weeks. principal factors are screens, not available for other 15 days -
I posted in this in the m15x general questions thread, I'll post it here too:
Hey guys, could an m15x owner with an 8800 do me a favor? One of the games I'm looking forward to is Age of Conan so I am curious as to how the laptop would run it. Would one of you mind running the test here for the game? Thanks!!!
http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest -
Well I'd recommend you look to the light at the end of the tunnel - The light source being the AlienwareFX of course -
Lol, I know silver looks good, but the black one (for me) looks fantastic!
http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on-with-alienwares-area-51-m15x-and-m17x-laptops-2/498282/ -
I can't now. but I have time to decide! as alienFX said.. the black one is fantastic!
I should opt for the 1920x1200. I prefer matte screens, absinthe told that it is fantastic, and it fits better for my needings!
in europe you cannot not to choose the alienFX illuminated keyboard! so, of course I will take itno doubt! it's very cool
-
-
The colors might not be as bright but you won't have to worry about a lot of glare and reflections on the screen.
-
matte is not reflective! more professional in my opinion!
glossy has more brilliant colour, but it is more reflective.
absinthe told that the 1920 is a good screen, good colours & contrast. for me it's the best choice -
oh, ok (whew...)
-
Performance will suffer a bit though, right?
-
Honestly, the screen is perfectly bright enough, I have a viao with a sony xbrite lcd screen. I like the matte much, much better, It is like my lcd television.
-
only in games at native res! but as far as I know a GPU like an 8800GTX run very well @ high res, with AAx AFx! so in many games (not crysis) you will be able to run native res smoother! you will lost very few fps from a 1440 screen.
but if you are mostly a gamer, take the 1440 definetly -
what if i've got (well i dont have it yet... phase 8 as of today though!) the 1200p screen but choose to play games at the lower screen res? will i get the same fps as someone who has that screen natively or will i lose out on a couple fps? should i just stick to my own native res of 1920x1200?
-
-
I called AW today to get some support about my gpu downclocking itself while gaming and a dead pixel I had on my screen. I ended up having to send it back to their factory. I got my fedex label but I'm not sure how that work I guess I have to go drop it in a fedex ship point they wont come take it at my door right?
