Exactly what I was thinking.

We should be able to ban those people from this website. We really don't need them.
Just like that guy a few weeks ago that created a thread "Official M18X"
Can't stand mis-information when it's done on purpose. -
My friend has a blog and works at a local retro game shop in my city , he managed to snag himself a pass because of it, only had to pay for flight ticket....... he writes in a no name blog......... he got in...... just sayin.......
-
Ignoring all the "pass" crap, (They aren't contributing to the discussion either by doing this) I believe nothing will come new of E3. My first reaction was "Advertise current released items" and I'm gonna stick with that.
-
So you went and you did not take one picture... Nothing... You are on this forum just to report you went without any substance.
We honestly don't care that you went or not but we do care about people that were there to bring this community images and facts about the Alienware booth. -

Does anyone know when his meeting is?
-
But as it stands, the Alienware booth is SMALL. From pics you can see, the table is simply too small to attract attention, and therefore there won't be an announcement.
Sure, last year they announced the amazing M17x. But they had men in black walking around with the laptops, looking imposing and awesome. They made a BFD out of it.
But this year, nothing. Most you'd see is a 480m, and even then it wouldn't be SLI. It just runs too hot, simple as that. There'd need to be a serious cooling overhaul, therefore a serious body overhaul. If they announced a 480m, it'd still be better to just roll with CrossFire 5870's.
But that's just my opinion. -
If alienware doesnt annouce anythin than im purchasing my alienware on thursday
-
Honestly, give it till the end of the month and see if the "June" rumormill turns out true. And then get the CF machine if nothing shows up. 5870x2 is a very, very strong graphics system. It's nothing to sneer at.
Otherwise if you insist on waiting, then wait, because Nvidia says SLI is in the cards for the 480M so we know someone will be doing it.
And I'll say it again. I vastly prefer a "well done", meaning well tested and bug free, Alienware product as opposed to one rushed out the door. -
E3 refers to themselves as E3 "Expo?" That is such bad grammar--E3 meaning: Electronics + Entertainment + Expo = E3. Calling it "E3 'Expo'" is no different then calling a restaurant "The le Château."
-
The CF5870 solution is great but is also greatly nerfed right now by Alienware's drivers. Let's hope new drivers are coming soon.

Chaz is supposed to have a meeting with Alienware tomorrow IIRC. Hopefully we'll hear some interesting news.
-
Meanwhile you're welcome to read the notebookcheck's review of a D900F with 480M and then the counter testing by HellCry (D900F+5870) to see some interesting results

i can't beleive that after all the people that have been so far, i cannot seem to find 1 photo/video of the alienware stand on the net......

My meeting isn't until Wednesday but I went by the Alienware booth today - there was nothing new from what I could tell, but they do have a sick-looking booth. I will get pics up when I get better Internet.
-
That's just confirms that the 480M is completely worthless...
-
All things considered, I think I have decided to save a boatload of cash and just get an Asus G73Jh-A2 w/ an Intel G2 160 Gb SSD. All for $2k, final price. Seems like the best overall value for me.
Perhaps Dell delaying my refurb desktop order yet again the other day (Now I've been waiting a month) has put me off wanting to own an alienware. I really wanted one, too. Pity. -
2k for an Asus? Lol! I got mine for 2300 and some change.

Just noticed one difference on the UK AW site (dont remember it being an option when i ordered anyway) regarding screen.
It seems that you now have the "inbetween" option of choosing a 1920x1200 CCFL 17" screen.....somewhat better than the 1440x900 CCFL option but not as good as the rgbled we soooo love!!!
UK customers have the option of choosing this over the basic 1440x900 for an additional £80 or £190 for the rgbled.
Dont recall that being an option when i was building but it may be of interest to those who want a full 1080p at a reduced/budget price....
Doubtful this is groundbreaking news or anything to do with E3 but nonetheless, thought it may be of interest! - i may even have completely overlooked that option and be talking rubbish lolololol -
So is it safe to say nothing major will happen with the lineup (notably the M15X
)?
I really wanna pull this damn trigger already! -

Yeah Asus is not better bang for the bucks anymore when it cost 2k-ish.
You can always buy an Alienware 5870CF for around $2,400. -
Still have a couple more days maybe there will be a surprise. -
M11x on display, who could have predicted lol.
-
I think the next M17x or m18x will not come out until the screen is 3d prob sometime next summer or 2012 my guess would be a bad marketing move to do anything at this point since they are trying to push m11x sales prob have surplus of them lol not to mention why would they make another one now when they still havent fixed our 5870CF to perform at full throttle.
-
hopefully the meeting sheds some details, maybe some stuff they got coming later on in the fall is my guess, thats generally when most manufacturers like to drop new equipment for the holiday selling season. That said Im not surprised in the least bit Alienware or any other pc manufacturers that showed up to e3 got a small booth or virtualy non existant. The pc market for the time being is a niche market, most people dont see any graphical improvement (the average gamer) nor are will want to drop mad cash for 2 5870s in a laptop. They are fine with the graphical perfomance 4 year old ps3s will put out.
It will take something big to get people to buy a pc or even take a second look, like full on ray tracing, that in my eyes is the next step for CG, but with not a big enough leap in hardware yet its not possible at playable frame rates. And by the time theres something on the market that can do it, Sony and Microsoft will put it in a next gen system and sell it .
Im not trying to be mr. arguepants over here im just saying 299 for a ps3 that has a blu ray built in a decent online community dedicated servers on most games is better then spending 1500.00 min for a m15x that gets marginal better gaming performance that no one would notice. -
Reading comprehension here stinks. -
Second of all, it's not an RGB LED screen and the Asus only offers 1080p instead of 1200p on the AW. Again no point there for the Asus
Third of all, the warranty and customer service is much better with Alienware.
Fourth... The Asus does not even take SLI or Crossfire... What the heck. The whole point of a gaming rig is to have a powerful graphics solution.
To summarize, you are comparing a Ferrari (M17X) to a tuned Ford Focus (Asus)... -
Going back to the thread now... It's pretty clear nothing major will show up this year but hopefully Charles can get some information on future versions of the M17X during his interview.

-
I also returned my Vertex LE drive and will be getting the 240gb Vertex 2 instead. -
-
Im a little out of the loop, what interview is going on today?
-
Charles Fett has an interview with Alienware at E3
-
-
The problem is no one knows at what time and when his interview will be available online...
-
I gate it how I'm 3 hours ahead, it feels like I have to wait forever to hear the news lol.
-
I feel your pain... A lot of us are waiting for that interview.

You stole the words right out of my mouth -

Do you reckon the M15x is a good buy? I have just ordered one, but was tempted by Asus.
