Looking at your spec, that must of cost a fortune, I only got the 720qm, 4gb Ram, 5850 graphics card (Because in the uk this is a GDDR5 which is better than the 260m), and the usual stuff. I did get 2 frees years business warranty including accidental damage.

I agree.....what IS with all the speculation going on??? M11x just got refreshed, M15x wont be refreshed until early next year and the M18x is rumored to be months away yet, they won't be showing the new M17x/M18x at E3, too early. Nothing to really talk about...although everyone can come back in August to rejump the speculation engine :D :D

Nice setup, I went for the 260m because I have a 3D projector and wanna do 3D bluray. I already have the Nvidia Vision kit.

3D projector, that sounds awesome. I have always had a Mac, so I am quite new to the Pc/Windows world and 3D. So how does the 3D projector work, do you need to have 3d gaming/films?

Lol, Well Spock, Scotty down in the engineering department took to long to sort things out for my order, and after numerous wrong quotations I got compensated for my time/troubles!

Well you need a projector, tv or computer monitor that does 120Hz, you buy the kit that comes with the glasses.

Install the software and almost all games become 3d.

For movies you need Power DVD 3D which allows you to play 3d blu rays.

Im looking forward to reading Charles' report....although im not expecting much to come from it (which in some ways makes me happy as my order is only 15 miles awayfrom me, on hold for delivery until shortly after E3.

Im not expecting anything to come for the m17x this time around and as i need a laptop now, it would make me quite happy to take delivery of mine rather than another "long wait" for something which may or may not happen even then!

Matter of fact being that sli 480 isnt gonna happen (not that i want it anyway) or single 480 (c/f 5870 seems better anyhow).

New m18x (speculative) is gonna be way off regardless.....

The only thing i was kinda holding out for was USB 3.0 which would be minor but worthwhile.

Ho Hum.....guess its still just a case of watch this space......fervently. :D

Hey guys - I had my meeting earlier today with Alienware, it went very well. They like all the activity and feedback in these forums and hope you guys keep it up.

I snapped some pics (attached). They have the new M11x R2s on site.

FYI there was nothing 'new' announced save for the M11x R2. There will be some new CPUs coming in them - namely the i3-330UM or whatever, and the Pentium U5400.

Nothing new on the M17x I'm afraid - at least nothing was mentioned.

They hinted there will be more products coming with the stealth design theme but that's about it . . .

Nice to see NFS World Online on the desktop and M11X... :GEEK:

Anyway, back on topic, I'm glad I can order my M15X now that nothing new was announced! I will pull the trigger tonight. :D

Also...can you elaborate more on the "stealth products?" ;)

Well I am pretty sure the 740, 840 and 940 will be available very very shortly on the Dell's website but I don't care because the increase in performance would be barely noticeable and definitely insignificant while gaming.

I am re-ordering soon. I would today but I will be out of the country for more than a month very soon therefore I don't mind waiting until July or even August for re-ordering.

Unfortunately I may not last that long... I might just give in and order very very soon.

No, it's not. Fermi is hot...too hot... this hot!

No logic, just info - x40's will be here in less than a month and will cost about the same as their x20 brothers cost now.

The x40 won't have that much of an increase, compare the 920 and 940, there is 0.13Ghz diffrence. I can oc that without even touching the voltages.

Realistically, you don't need more than i5-520M, aesthetically - there's a huge difference between 920XM an 940XM  :D :p   :spinny:  :twitchy:

Same chip, same everything and like you said only 0.13GHz bonus. But it looks cool ;)
Now seriously, the only reason I'd go wait for it is the same or nearly the same price. Also, it's less than a month away.
Of course, if you're in a rush - forget it.

I doubt it will be less than a month. The 940xm is schduled for a Q3-Q4 release which puts it around end of Septemnber. Same as last year's 920xm release and the year before that for the QX9300m ;)
