Btw make sure you uninstall your drivers before installing the new ones. If the installation doesnt work it will just leave the same drivers on.

As you can see all lead to ati2mtag_M88. So if you scroll a bit down in the .inf you are going to see the changes for ati2mtag_M88. Basically its different cards but still same options. Its just to display the right name in the device manager nothing more

Still dont get it seriously. What else are we missing ?

just though i would throw it out there , most of my errors in coding are mis labeling source files and tags

 

For the driver to work, you should get an error during the installation that says "this driver might not be compatible with your system bla bla bla, install anyway or cancel". If you dont see that it means the display driver probably wont install.

looks like on the mobmod forum it cant mod the 9.2 inf properly.

At the moment im trying to "merge" E's .inf with mobility modders .inf.

If mobility modder can make the driver install then might try something with that

dang cool you dashed my hopes ... i was like maybe he found it !!!! that may be the issue if you copied e's mods and the stuff z added in didnt allocate it ......i hate not being able to help .....im like the fat kid you get to eat the stuff to see if it kills you

well imma help look at the mob mod inf and the current inf and see what it adds to have it show .. but i won;t be much help...i gotta get up in 5 hours i realllly need to figure this out or i wont be able to sleep

Please check and upload only the .infs somewhere. Shouldnt take long they are really small. But make sure its the original ones not the modified ones

ok i got asked to install the software like normal but then it said it couldnt find the inf file

 

kk this is getting pretty annoying... Managed to get it to display the screen "driver might not be compatible etc" and it still fails at the end!

i know i put it in the right place i went and deleted then re extracted from orginal exe then mob moded then replaced the inf

ok thefirst one you sent said it could not be found and this one game me the error we have been getting all night

but the first one asked if i wanted to install the software even though it wasn't installed.....the first one is the closest we got

 

As ive noticed (after 1000 installations), if "ATI catalyst install manager" is greyed out it means the display driver wont install, so be sure to check that one first.

This is fun zfactor is merging E's .inf in the original .inf and im merging the original .inf in E's .inf...

Btw, zfactor is right, people are having problems modding the 9.2's even with the mobility modder. ATI probably changed something in their driver configuration that might have a conflict with the mobility modder. The .inf might be ok but the mobility modder might not be doing a good job in our case.

If you add those tweaks in the .inf it doesnt install

Wish i knew which part of the .inf fixes the resolution issues. Thats the only think i care about to be honest

 

Moo, can you check if the info are the same please? I still find it strange that some people dont have the scaling problem.

Also check the info under "details" tab for, Hardware Ids and compatible Ids.

 

Why don't we stop all works and sent pm to E-wrecked about those inf files? I think someone that don't have the problem with mob modded bcoz they didn't use another resolution (I guess).

I think he soled his M17 and is hedding for the new notebook powered bye Nvidia card ... Maybe this is a reason as well^^

PS: I'll give 9.2 a shot!

 

This is strange, any resolution under 1440x900 will be scaled for me, anything above it will not be scaled.

 

He had a Whitebook, but ya, he did sell it but said he would still stick around and keep modding the drivers and stuff. He prolly just has other things that require his attention. Not sure if he is in school (college) or not, but that can easily swamp you down.
