Hmm. the ability to login and "find your iPhone" Pretty neat

EDIT: as for the whole removable battery thing, I'm torn. It makes the machine look good, but I could see how some users might feel more comfortable with one that is removable :)

$99 / year is still a very expensive service, IMHO.

Hmm....I thought MobileMe was free. That's kinda a shame, that part+contact backup should be, especially with the rise of free contact syncing services like Google Sync, and Microsoft MyPhone. I know MobileMe does a lot more than just contact/calender/file syncing but still perhaps lower the price a bit.

You know what I still don't get (sorry for the change of subject)

    They're showing Tom-Tom turn-by-turn GPS App now.

Do you still have to be online (either cellular network or WiFi) to be able to get the maps and directions, or is it just using the GPS and the maps are actually stored on the iPhone itself??

i dont have any problem just using google maps to find my way, highlighted path.. I really hate GPS talking devices.... I'd throw it out the window...

but anyways, we'll have to wait for more info from TomTom.. but it would make sense to allow download of the area you want, just in case you lose signal.

"60% higher GAMUT", that indicates RGB LED afaik. The only 15.4" displays with RGB LED I've seen sofar were 1900*1200.

But there's a lot of displays I haven't seen yet.

Me wants the 13-inch Pro!! I was hoping they'd include the longer-life battery because I never carry one with me anyway. And I really do prefer the SD card to an ExpressCard (mainly going to be used with my camera & mp3 player). With back-lit keyboard standard now, the low end one has everything I could want. And it's even cheaper. And comes with FW. :D

Why couldn't they keep the 9600 GT in the $1699 Mac Pro? Would have made it a much better deal. Now it's just like they took something away to drop the price.

I guess it's nice to see 4GB RAM standard in the Pro line though.

Well yea but those are like ACTUAL cameras and the phone itself is pretty bulky because of it. What i was referring to was on I guess "standard issue" cell phones where the camera isn't huge, liek your standard size flip phone it comes in 5MP.

The "new" iPhone. 3MP camera, video function and improved battery life. I won't be getting an iPhone I think.

I'm really excited about the Macbook Pros now all having non-replaceable batteries like the 17s. I've gone through a couple of machines and witnessed numerous others that have their battery covers not perfectly aligned, getting loose after a while or having the seams not being perfectly flat to each other. The new 17s really fixed that issue and now the whole line gets the treatment.

After owning numerous notebooks and never needing a spare battery, the fixed battery is a non-issue for me and I suspect it's the same for a good number of people out there. Especially if the promised battery life or anything close to it, actually materialises.

True but you can get Mobile Me for a lot less on eBay or even some resellers at times, same as Apple Care; those are the two things I never buy directly from Apple.

The MBP 13 is the MB but with firewire and a SD card slot. You can't get the 9600 in it. same for the cheaper MBP 15 inch no 9600. They also took the express card slot out of all the 15 inch one. witch is like taking away the firewire in the MB's, don't know why they did that.

    Touch HD,the big one

well, res wise,it is certainly better, but phone is not mostly about the screen,it is about OS,screen responsiveness, internet browsing and general experience...I have like 6 min win mo phone,G1 and iPhone and now use 45% G1,35% iPhone and just 20% phones...and due special programs i test...However if the screen top priority, you should certainly get HTC or xperia

Lol are you joking? they changed the name...

    Browsing is priority...

I just don't like the constant zooming in and out on the iPhone. No website fits on the display.

So you have a Touch HD and don't use it.. that's strange. Maybe i should get the G2.

So the base macbook pro model pretty much got a better battery life, proc 2.4-2.66 bump, ram bump 2- 4, and better screen (although we dont know what screen it is).
