Yep. Been said already by Justin....

Well, guess I am a tad slow today!
-
No problem.
Thanks for sharing as others were saying that they haven't heard from their resellers yet.
Well, you have. So Justing is correct -
what internal drive are you using? Guaranteed fit in the G73 with no sticking out/edges exposed? How do you get one specifically for Asus laptops if these are backing up orders presently? In the photos of the G73 on page 1 of this thread, it sure doesn't look like a standard fit drive due to the 'stealth' look, ie angles along the edge. It seems the drive has contour lines right down the middle of the faceplate... ? Last thing I want is something sticking out to catch on the laptop, clothes or anything else that might muck it up, knock it off a table, etc...
As far as the accidental warranty from Asus - $289 to upgrade to the 3 year policy with Newegg, whereas for $89 I get the same from Xotic (altho I have to wait... possibly...) -
At least this laptop is worth waiting, and we will have more reviews by the time it ships
-
I mentioned it before, but for those worried about warranties, you can go with SqaureTrade. My post got mixed up with trash talk about how someone "types."

Just ordered the X1 via Newegg. It should be here tomorrow or Thursday. So excited.
-
-
-
I really hope it has the hardware to mount a second drive. I plan to put an SSD in it. -
Awesome, looking forward to it. I am seriously close to pulling the trigger on one of these things, and just wanna see a little more to help me decide.
-
argh!!! Cant wait that long, currently I'm barely functioning on a netbook
-
Hello everyone. I have been following the thread for a long time now. The last delay killed my patience too, just canceled my order from Xotic and placed an X1 from Newegg. Hopefully, I will have it tomorrow if not Thursday at latest. I will be upgrading with a SSD in the future with prices cut =)
-
haha, yeah, it better have the hardware to do this, because I ordered an 80GB SSD with mine from NewEgg! -
Newegg just raised the price for the X1 by 30 dollars.

I am pretty sure I am buying it in a couple of weeks guys!!!! I am soo excited! unless my parents back up on the loan that they are giving me lol
-
Does anybody still have any A2s in stock? I've pretty much given up on waiting for the A1 and I know I don't need the Bluray drive.
-
-
What time did you order Mandrake?
-
I'd like to know that too. When is the latest newegg ships for the day?
-
i'm curious about ur benches
-
newegg.com got more than 100 units in stock now.
-
where do you see how many units are in stock?
And I ordered before you drake and you already shipped? Dang.... -
I order mine @ newegg @ 7 am (A2) and it being shipped. As for the the Blu-ray, find out what type of DVD Drive it is and you might be able to replace it with the same company and just change out the face plate to match the sides plate
-
-
it's a heist! them 100 units must've been stolen in transit to xotic/gentec/etc and resold to newegg so some capone-wannabe could skim afew in the process!
damn, where'd i put that superfriends card! -
The representative told me the same. I placed it around 4.30 pm. It is only being at "Charged" status.
-
I even added the rush processing to get it out today
-
I think cutoff is 12:00PM (noon) PST for Newegg.com.
-
Yep, and I got it in @ 11:43am PST
-
-
I am cheap, and as such got the standard 3 day.
But I def wanted it to go out today, and I was within the 12pm timeframe. -
-
I haven't seen the answer to this in the past 30 pages, but is the X1 still expandable to 16GB in RAM? A reference to the X1 posted here would be sweeeeeeeet. Might crack and grab an X1...
-
It's still only 3pm over there.
Still got some time -
For anyone wanting a Blu-ray drive so bad they can't wait for (A1) check this external Blu-ray drive out Asus Slim Blu-Ray I'm hopeful it just has a notebook drive in it and it time to play around
-
Yeah, I got my order in before noon (PST) as well, and also did rush processing, so I'm hopeful that it will still get out today.
-
-
-
Exactly why I say this.
I am sure those who don't upgrade to IC7 will have it shipped quicker.... -
FWIW...
How long does it generally take to process an order?
It takes one to two business days for us to process an order (prior to shipping it). Once the order has shipped, your estimated time of arrival will be determined by your selected shipping method and your local FedEx guidelines for delivery.
Newegg offers Rush Processing for orders placed before 12PM PST for a small additional fee. Newegg will put forth its best efforts. We cannot however, guarantee that your order will ship the same day. If we fail to ship your order on the same day, we will refund the Rush Processing fee. -
-
Heh glad I got the low price.
They either raised the price because they are selling out, or they realized that it was cheaper to buy the X-1 and a 500GB HD, therefore giving you an A-2 for less than the price of an A-2 LOL.
In some ways an empty hard drive bay is better if you plan to upgrade this badboy at all. -
I have two questions. Does the X1 have an extra hard drive slot on the bottom so I can put in a second 500gb drive and does the X1 have RAID support?
-
No RAID on any G73....
-
All said and done, I really really like the G73 backpack. It's subtle and made specifically for the G73.
I bought the G73JH-A2 from Newegg before they went out of stock. I guess I'll find a use for the mouse. Probably a shelf. -
wow ASUS REALLY screwed the small enthusiast resellers.
ALL THE QUANTITY went to NewEgg.
I bet there are going to be angry calls from all the mom and pops to ASUS about how all the inventory was dumped through NewEgg!!
