Can't blame them. Newegg sells stuff by the boatload.

I did some homework and thinking and decided to go with the G73JH from egg as well (for $1450 + ground shipping). A deciding factor was that I found there is a squaretrade coupon for 30% off today.. which allowed me to get 3 yr warranty on $1470 for $119 (+ tax where applicable). I was never in the market for the bluray really, and the price difference of the non-BR , non wireless card configuration to egg was around $200 .. which makes sense because its short a 500gb 2.5" hdd.
I still don't like egg's pixel policy but will see what happens. I forget this site's policy on coupons but if you message me I'll reply with it. Or if its ok to post I'll follow up with it. After today it drops from 30% off to 20% though.
I was never on any pre-order. I'd been waiting on the msi results but in the end the 1080p rez beat the esata slot and express slot. Also tax return + eagerness played a part. Also signed up for preferred account for 12 mo no interest.

Is yours showing shipped yet? -
I ordered one from newegg also and a SSD for it. Both have shipped today. With such a powerful graphics card and cpu, I personally felt the SSD would only compliment so well.
-
I mean anyone who wants the high end also has the technical know-how to build it themselves.
I have not bought a pre-built PC since a 386 Intel.
I even mod my laptops. In other words the people the enthusiast shops try to cater to - Alienware, Xotic, whatever, can build better stuff themselves, adjust and set the timings on their own memory etc.
Honestly I cannot fathom how places like Alienware exist, who would buy from them? Maybe richie rich who is dumb too?
Not a very big market. -
Why are you guys all complaining about NewEgg's pixel policy. Even the X1 still comes with the standard Asus 30-Day NBD Policy. Sure, if you have less than 8 dead pixels, you can't return it to NewEgg, but you can still have it serviced by Asus, which is probably just as good, if not better.
Please correct me if i'm wrong, but that's how I understand it to be. -

ohyeah ... asus rox. Just burned into my brain to not buy lcd's from egg I guess. Hard habit to break.
-
Personally, I am a fulltime working professional who happen like to use a nice laptop. I understand computer specs and prices, but that's about it. 99% of society don't unscrew open their computer after purchase, so most of the upgrades would be done prior to sale.
I hope you are not implying that all of us are "dumb" and "rich"? -
I am sorry, but AW is a great product.
If you feel the need to bash them and their customers, please refrain from posting altogether.
Plus chaz just cleaned up this thread, so stay on-topic. -

same goes with motorheads about cars.. people aren't stupid who like to drive cars but don't know how to fix and upgrade them. Easy to get elitist about things. NERDZ!! lol Anyway OT like crazy.
-
Well, mine shipped! So there is hope for an enjoyable weekend

Wow, another delay
-
91 left at newegg....
Anyone else? lol -
what is MCAT? Such thing does not exist in Australia.
Anyway, I am not here to compare d#ck size on a public forum.
And your reply is completely missing the point. -
Only 91 left at newegg.com :O

E-peens away, please. Or forum-peen, or profession-peen, or whatever it is. Getting a score OVER 9000!!! is irrelevant to the topic at hand. Dammit.
I'm curious as to how this thing performs when it's actually on your lap. Does the keyboard intake really help? -
That's amazing they got that many more than Xotic and Gentech.
I bet they (Newegg) received these G73's and just last night started putting them in the db. -
Quad said it is one of the coolest running laptops he has used on his lap.
Very good..... -
-
Someone posted that it was nice and cool on their lap, even after gaming, iirc. -
So what's the word on the X1 in terms of memory and HDD slots? Two HDD bays and only up to 8GB of RAM, amicorrect? Lol, I found the "official specs" on a post here, but I wanna clarify because "official" on a message board doesn't feel really official to me unless a few people chime in.
-
Same system, so same capable specs.
-
Does anyone have this mouse http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826153053?. Is this good for video editing n gaming or are there any other mice :S
-
A better statement would be: "We have no clue what the X1 has in terms of expansion or available bays, but we can safely assume that ASUS wouldn't have gone through the trouble of making an entirely different motherboard for one model."
-
-
with a mouse though you really need to hold it in your hand, what works for me may be uncomfortable for you. -

I'm really close to getting this too, been going far too long without a lappy. That would be a dealbreaker for sure if I couldn't expand RAM as far as the other models and that this didn't come with two HDD bays... -
i guess all i can say the more that order from newegg the closer i get to getting mines, im sticking with xotic, crossed my mind to cancel it...but, naw
-
I came from the Dell Studio XPS 16 forums to the HP Envy 15 forums to here and it's amazing how different the customer feedback is. Studio owners hate tell and are tied up in shipping delays. The same for HP except people are having quality problems.
Battery life, I guess that's the only problem with this thing. But that's a given. -
The resellers aren't selling "pc's you could never build yourself". I am a network administrator for a large enterprise and have been building pc's since I was 12 years old (30 now). The resellers provide a service that newegg never would, which is being here on the forums helping us with problems or defects that come up and acting as an intermediary so we don't have to deal with Asus should a problem arise. Most parts in a laptop are proprietary. You can't just log into your newegg account and order a new PM55 Asus G73 motherboard after it goes bad...
What's most striking is the swagger and hubris you come in here with after starting your own thread this afternoon proclaiming you were going to break all G73 world records and RAID an SSD setup on this laptop. The irony should be palpable.
EDIT: BY the way, I am in NO WAY deriding anyone's decision to order this from Newegg. Everything in life has it's pluses and minuses. -

Not bad. Personally, I would have preferred two bottom-intakes, since if my laptop is not parked on my Zalman I use an Xpad.
Now I have to hunt for stress temperatures. I have no intention of buying this machine, but I really want to see if Asus finally addressed the hot GPUs. -
So far you have been my favorite commenter by FAR.
+1 to you getting a G73JH branded cape. -

Gives this poor ol' college student a more time to save, but being a computer science major with no computer is a draaaaaaag. -
edit: it says I can't give rep to you again... ugh -
89 left as of about 3 minutes ago.
Just if they posted to Australia -
There is a X2 model too, but I have no idea whats the difference in that model. Just putting it out there
