Chris, you siggy still says you are getting the A1 model
btw, where are Ken and Donald nowadays? It's not as though they are shipping anything out at the moment (G73JH wise) -
As far as Ken and Donald... They committed to honoring the pre-orders of A2 that asked for upgrade thermal compound and cpu's. From Justin's video, it looks like that could take 45-120 minutes per laptop. On top of that, Justin said Xotic received an order of N61's, N71's, G51jx's, AND their allotment of G73a2's all in one day. Probably the same going on at Power and Gentech. He said it is complete chaos over there and I am surprised he had time to even update people on the forum. -

Take this with a grain of salt but I just contacted my reseller and they gave me an updated ETA of Feb 25th. This is NCIX in canada. According to the person I spoke with he called ASUS and this is what they told him.
-
Wow, another date! This is getting more and more like a Pandora's Box. How many different dates have we heard so far already?
btw, is the ETA of Feb 25th referring to A1 or A2? -
-
-
I preordered a G73-A1 from 1/5/10 and I still haven't receive any notice except the ETA keeps getting longer.

Usually I'm the same. I almost fell asleep playing Fallout 3 and couldn't finish it, actually get past 3 hours of playing. No interest trying again. I'll be attempting to try Bioshock again to try... And I just couldn't see the poin in STALKER.
But I decided to give Mass Effect 2 a try. The controls for your companions is smooth. They are bit dumb like they stand on a table getting shot at sometimes, but just point to a corner, press Q and they run and get cover. The story is very engaging right away.
But the story is very much taken from Alastair's novels. Alastair wrote a whole series in the future, where fate of humanity resides with one person. They have to fight an alien mechanism a mystery that is wiping out civilizations. They appear every so many years, civilization dissappear without a trace. There are some humans who are highly biologically modified who can regenerate, heal quickly, communicate telepathically and wage cyber warfare. There are epic spaceship battles. They travel from planet to planet looking for resources, new technology and information to solve the mystery. And it's not just the human race looking for the solution. The mysterious group are also accompanied by another advanced race, but their intentions mysterious.
Does this sound familiar? TBH I think Mass Effect 2 is direct ripoff of Alastair's space opera.

**EDIT**Digital Rights Management

Thanks for the catch! -
DRM .. M - management yeah.. not a fan of that since its basically spyware and you can't uninstall it once its on your pc without a lot of trouble, even to the point of having to reformat your pc in some cases.
On my desktop I've been enjoying playing theWitcher from time to time. I know its a bit dated but it definitely has a storybook/in-a-movie feel to it once you get settled into it. The graphics are pretty sweet on max. I played torchlight for awhile.. (I have alot of steam games that I got for steals from the holiday sales). Finished borderlands awhile ago. It started out good , but I thought it dragged on in the middle. It did pick up at the end. I'll prob buy LFD2 next time there is a killer deal on it. I picked up my wow account after torchlight and the witcher got me going on rpg again... leveling a mage from L70 to L80 (around L72.5 atm). Even with wow graphics, with everything maxxed out with far draw distance and all the effects its a pleasure to see flying through the lands in the lich king expansion.. its very vast. Very different from the more "parking lot" or "public housing"/"alleyway" feel of most fps, though they have superior textures and higher resolution meshes. I have Battlefield Bad company2 on preorder though, and might spring for supreme commander eventually. Oh and when Dragon Age: origins comes down in price I'll grab that too.. should be done with thewitcher by then.
