hopefully they add more fans or do seperate heatsinks for gpu and cpu that would be sweet.

32nm Core i7 for the dual cores already releasing within days (CES)
Maybe intel will be releasing something like this?
32nm Core i7 Quad 2.000 400$
32nm Core i7 Quad 2.200 550$
32nm Core i7 Quad 2.500 900$
They won't have to worry about laptops reaching desktop speeds market because by that time 6 Cores cpus are already getting released plus they will have to compete with AMD quad core platform which is getting released this year too so they need the extra speed to outperform AMD, honestly 1.6GHZ is not hard to beat and AMD can do it without even trying
I think gamers shouldn't care about the extra speed because the G73 is already powerful but i do Video edit a lot so every extra cpu speed counts -

I mean how can even anyone top the G73? XD it got the strongest GPU offering from ATI which most likely won't get an upgrade till like a full year from now plus 8GB DDR3 Ramand with the G73 price you can really sell it to a lot of people unlike those 2.500$ gaming laptops where only few people buy.
hmm only way i can see this laptop demand dropping is if nvidia GTX360m/GTX380m outperform the 5870 which i doubt plus nvidia didn't even release the desktop versions yet -
The GTX 285 might end up matching it in performance but it will still lack DX 11 (not that it's very important right now). What may sway people is nVidia's mobile driver support, physx, and cuda. -
Reportedly it's looking light for a gamer!

4:53PM Heat generating sources are moved to the back, and dual fans pull air in from the front to expel air out the raised back.
HELL YES
and its not 17,260 its P7260..as in Vantage scores. -

AWESOME! -
Another picture
the design is based on a stealth fighter jet. That means a 5 degree lift on the keyboard to make WASD gamers comfortable. Obviously.
Sorry about the 3D mark mistake lol pictures made me drool XD
You can throttle the CPU speed and save battery life with a button on the keyboard. A new cooling system keeps all the gear chilled out. -

Looks like a WINNER folks! Both thermal design and chassis!
LOL!

Hi all,
I was about to buy the MSI GT740, as it was an affordable game laptop.. However I was told off the G73JH-A1 and I heard it was cheaper then the GT740 and faster.. by far!
However now everybody is in pre-order (I have read all 57 pages, took me a while) but why is that? Is that just to make sure you are one of the first to have the G73? Or is getting more expensive after launching? Or am I completely wrong and will it get cheaper after the launch and will it be wise to wait a while (I can manage to do so..)?
Anyway, I need to get me one of those laptops as my current one has 512MB RAM and 1 core 2.8 Ghz.. So sad..
Well thanks for all the information provided by you all on this forum! -

Another photo angle of this stealth of a notebook! -
Wow, that design looks extremely sleek and attractive! I'm already half sold on its exterior aesthetics.

Picture showing the "new" backflow design for asus laptops
New asus Laptops got USB3! why didn't they add it for the G73 lol... i expect next refresh to get USB3 i bet -
do you have the back of ASUS G73JH-A1?
and.. about this laptop... this thing is going to be a beast for sure... -
nvm double post
-
Preorders are just to reserve a spot in line and be one of the first. Prices should not go up after release (and may, in fact, go down over time, depending on ASUS). -
The G73jh looks good. Not too flashy. -

my heart is singing if thats the actual design of the G73
-
performance is basically a desktop 4870...
-
here is another picture for you
-
Im not liking the design much... if it looked more like the Airo I would definitely get the g73.
-
performance in 3dmark 06 should definitely be over 14,000
i predict 14,700 -
-
against the 4870 it gets around 8200~ http://service.futuremark.com/hardware/graphics_cards/ati_radeon_hd_4870
it's definitely faster than dekstop 4850 which gets 7000+ i think -
am I ever glad I pre-ordered early!!!
-

-
We need some actual 5870 benchmarks
-
Actually I am hoping for a bit more. It really appears like the last big breakthrough for mobile gaming was the 8800M GTX which is approaching 2 years old. Typically I upgrade when a single solution for a platform (desktop or laptop) at LEAST equals the performance of the leading dual solution. It is seeming like we aren't even at 50% increase over the 8800MGTX at this point unless I am mistaken? If that is the case I may hold out until the next refresh as I have an m15x from march 2008....it's just getting a bit long in the tooth even in games like L4D 2....
-
We have one, it just isn't broken down into GPU/CPU score. P7260 vantage as listed on the engadget page.

If you are not in a hurray you can wait for Next refresh around June-July
-32nm Core i7, Less heat/power and higher Speeds (cheaper too because AMD will release their quads by that time, Right now no competition against intel for the Quad for mobile)
-GTX360m/GTX380m will be released by then, I prefer Nvidia Drivers support
-32nm cpu (Less heat) = we properly get 15.6 laptop with no heat issues
-USB3 is already out in some Asus laptops i expect us to get them with G74?
-32Nm Quad got built in Gpu(Switchable) double battery life when not gaming
-Intel will properly use new Intel chip for the 32nm Quads, would be nice to have if you wanted to upgrade your CPU later on since 32nm is here to stay for a while once it arrive.
Other things like cheaper SSDs/the usual LCD upgrade/Bigger Hard drives/etc
Of course technology is always advancing so only upgrade when you need it or when you can satisfy the upgrade for your own needs -
Smoking hot design
New cooling

That is VERY sexy xD

Anyone got any ideas where I can get this beast in the UK, I have an order in for a dell precison M6500 that woulnt ship till mid feb but only because I wanted an laptop that could take 16gb ram and this may be the "cheaper" option.
Also what sort of state is Asus bios usually, buggy or pretty solid?
