    Hmm...

    1. Vantage is strictly DX10, and
    2. Vantage was used to benchmark a DX11 part (i.e., the Mobility Radeon 5870)???

oops, well then depending on how cpu heavy vantage which i dont think it is as much as 3dmark 06... the 5870 could be definitely be faster than the 3870x2

all i need is a mobile 720QM vantage cpu score

with the whitebook and the 3870x2 pumping clock speeds from a quad will not increase your gpu score. now if you pumped a dual core. (and i mean break 3.5ghz or higher) you will see an increase in the gpu score. compared to the 48series. not sure about the 58series.

just found out i7 scores almost double what core 2 quads in vantage (never used it more than once because the benchmark sucks as it is)

    http://service.futuremark.com/resultComparison.action?compareResultId=890339&compareResultType=19

heres a score with the 4850x2 and a core i7 920 at stock but it cant be up to date as its too low of a score

    3DMark Score
    P7693 3DMarks
    CPU Score

    Graphics Score

The benchmark is not accurate though according to many people, it tend to favor Nvidia cards over Ati or so some say

We need hands-on review with real games benchmarks :)

yeah, if the score of 7260ish vantage is accurate, then it's most likely a juniper core (128 bit, 800SP, GDDR5). Would be kinda disappointed as ATi in the past always derived their mobile parts from the corresponding desktop parts (which is why there isn't a mobility 2900 card), but as I mentioned earlier, I expected this because there is pretty much no competition from nVidia. No incentive for ATi to drop monsters in the mobile field although looking at the thermal specs of the desktop 58xx cards, it isn't much different from the 48xx cards.

Which information are you considering false. The 128/256 bit info? The Q2 Release Comment?

What is the real information? Maybe we actually have to wait to find out, and hold out...

I can live with Feb, but I do not want to live with Q2, and I also do not want to live with 128 bit bus either. Striker supposedly verified the 256 claim a while back, however I have seen no other public information to back that up.

Anyone know this for certain and have actual evidence?

Perhaps it might wind up like the w90? With only a trickle at first?

Stop the hate-child...we all want shiny things, and The Donald was just sharing the information he was updated with. For all we really know, this laptop may be a myth. Until you hold it in your hand, I would remain a skeptic, and keep your pre-order money in your pocket.

My pre-order has been placed and will remain that way.
