Hello, I live in Europe, the Netherlands,
and I found the first dutch site with the G73JH but look at the price!
2200 euro !!
http://onbekend.centralpoint.nl/asu...tail/?ref=18&gclid=CK_bvaqwk58CFcg43godb2HYMA
Whats better is that they say they have it in stock at 22 januari
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
asus is from that area. so i wouldn't be suprised if you got it first. but march is killing me.
-
? Asus is from Taiwan.

A W90 refresh would be much more exciting to me, but interested to see what this laptop can do

Post links my friend!
EDIT: WHOOPS, you just did, LOL! THANKS!

22nd January?!?!?!?
That sounds like wooping good news for all of us in the US. I'm pretty sure it'll arrive at the resellers in the US before or atleast on the date its supposed to hit europe. I just hope its not like a BestBuy version with lower specs and a lower res screen? Can you confirm this? Are ths specs the same?
And as for the price, you're prolly better off ordering from the US; even considering delivery fee. Idk, about duty though, although it cannot get that insane. 2200 euros is just, yikes.... -
I think I did :O
Edit: hehe yeah
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i don't know that exact location that's why i said that area. i should of said out the US. lol -
Yeah, it'll cost around 1200 euros with shipping from Gentech (not including tax) so you'd save a huge sum by ordering from the US - it's what I'm doing
-
+rep for all that into iata
-
Taiwan in asia, fail again, j/k
-
The price in the Netherlands is confirmed by the site tweakers.
The say the price in euro will start at 1950 euro, with same specs as you have in your pre-order. That will be true, since 1650 dollar = 1200 euro + 5% inport + 19% tax
They also say that it will have less expansive version but then with a slower cpu/gpu.
Also the site tweakers is telling that it will have a NEW 15.6" little sister, with a price of 1700 euro, with a screen with 1366x768 pixels. -
-=$tR|k3r=- Notebook Virtuoso
22 January is inline with the original target of the 3rd week of January 2010.
Also, the Europeans are slammed with a crazy VAT tax, which I believe is at 19%.
-
-=$tR|k3r=- Notebook Virtuoso
DARN those cross-post, LOL!
-
Even then - 2200 Euros up from 1200 if I shipped the same model in from the US is NOT a 25% increase. Us Europeans really get screwed over when it comes to the pricing of new tech...
-
Just hold your fingers of your keybord while I'm typing!
-
blah!
-
First, I wanna thank iaTa for everything he has done.
Next time, I'd like to see some GPU benchmarks, like 3dMark06. ^^'
Probably here, in Italy, we'll have the same problem. I'd prefer to buy it from Italy, but it will be hella overpriced for sure.
I know I can order it from US and save money... but what about the warranty? What would I do in case some problems occour?
Oh, and another thing, american and italian keyboards are different, is it possible to order an italian keyboard from an american reseller? -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Definitely agreed, is what I was thinking too. I am looking at 11" models with that res haha -
ASUS has a global warranty friend, shipping cost paid (also one year accidental damage covered)
screw the keyboard
-
just think you'll be able to type "J" and "Z"!!
-
HP envy laptops got updated with Mobility Radeon HD 5830 today and 32nm Core i5 plus a price drop
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
the G73 will still be better than an envy though....
-
Uhm... the keyboard really is a problem.
Here in italy we use accented characters, like òàùèéì and so on... from what I know, american keyboards don't have them. Sure, I could set an italian keyboard in Win7, but it would suck to have a keyboard that types something different from what the keys show. I hope you can understand what I'm meaning.

Source: http://tweakers.mobi/nieuws/64781
Translated: the G73JH-A1 will come as basic model with i3 or i5, and with those processors at only has 4GB memory. I think that will be the starters model. -
-=$tR|k3r=- Notebook Virtuoso
LOL! WOW! Have you notified the guys in the HP threads yet?
-
MasqueradingTeabag Notebook Consultant
Does ASUS pay shipping for both ways, or just one way?
And also, I think the 1 year accidental damage warranty is only for people in North America. ASUS 360 2-year warranty, as you said is definitely global though. -
Yep, they know. Looking pretty sweet, hopefully it runs cooler than the original Envy 15.
In US at least, the shipping is both ways. -
Damn, this thread is growing faster than I can refresh!!! A wealth of info ....and a BIG Thank You to IATA.

Well here is the link, the only reason i posted the news here because i think since 5830 is already available the 5870 should be available too
I'm surprised that a company like HP can put 5830 in a 15.6 laptop with average cooling lol
I mean all their past offerings were lame when it come to graphic cards. -
SO anyone with vantage installed able to shed a little light on this file from Iata? I am downloading now but it will take about an hour, and I wont be able to wait for the DL to finish

Specs for the Mobility 5000 series are up on AMD.com.
http://www.amd.com/us/products/note...ility-hd-5800/Pages/ati-mobility-hd-5800.aspx
50W TDP on the 5870....they gave DTRs battery life instead of gaming performance. -
Any idea how powerful is the 5830?
These hp laptops are quite cheap can get one with 32nm cpu 5830 and 1920x1080 Screen all in 15.6 laptop for 1100$ >.>; -
Then 5870 in 15.6 laptop is a matter of time only then.
-
i7 already sucks batteries dry lol

5870 50W
GTX260m.. was it 60w or 70w? -
im really think about that envy 15 about now, i cant wait for march (waited for xps 1645 2 months, never came)
if only envy 17 came out -
considering the fact that they have core i5 processors listed, I'm gonna go with the 5830..
-
the 5830 is has 1/3rd the memory bandwidth of the 5870.
-
So GTS360m and 5870 both share the same exact bandwidth at 64GB
GTS360m 256Bit GDDR3
5870 128Bit GDDR5
hmmmmmm
