That assumes Diablo 3 comes out in a year![]()
At this point I'll be happy if Starcraft 2 comes out this year![]()
But the answer is... yes, it absolutely should! Blizzard is well known to be efficient at optimizing their games to work on a wide spectrum of graphics, and any card based on the desktop 5800's or 5700's should fall well within the range

well technically it does say any fault, dead pixels are any fault, false advertisement?
-
Well I have the e-mail to prove it, so yes, you could say it is possible false advertisement. E-mail them and see what you get when you quote their "any faults" policy. Would be interesting to know.
-
i would but the website is currently down :| maybe hes changing his support page ^_^
-
It is working for me right now. Love to know what the response is. Really wish I am wrong!
-
ive sent him a pm, but this 7 day policy is a manufacture warranty, so what do other companies put in there own dead pixel warranty by themselves? or is it with asus?
-
Diablo 3 will work most likely even on a 9800 card. Starcraft : Wings of Liberty is scheduled to be released q2 of this year
-
Some etail sites are starting to show incoming stock.
This one in particular says 60 units incoming on the 2nd. They are already backordered by almost 100 units.
This thing is going to sell like crazy.

Hi guys, above is a desktop for $770, who can tell the distance of it with G73? if not too much, I won't wait for G73... -
That graphics card is weaker and does not support direct x11, but the cpu is way more powerfull...
-
I'd like to know what laptop is that? Mind posting a link?
-
it is a desktop
-
As he stated, its a desktop, not a laptop.
-
Pretty sure the GTX 260 is more powerful than the ATI 5770. And since the Mobility 5870's performance is estimated to be between the 5750 and 5770, it would imply that the GTX 260 is more powerful.
It's a desktop. -
Doesn't the g73jh have a hd5870...you speak of a hd5770, did I miss something here ? Did they swtich?
-
Mobility 5870 =/= Desktop 5870. Mobility 5870 estimated performance to be between Desktop 5770 and 5750.
-
The mobile HD 5870 is equivalent to something between the desktop 5750 and the 5770.
-
Has anyone seen this article? I am hoping that it doesn't affect the mobile versions. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/ATI-Radeon-Grey-Screen-Crash,9529.html
-
I have a 5850 and have had neither of those problems but I do have a problem. No matter what driver or OS or settings I use, all regular standard white text will either be scrambled or come up with coloring in the lettering from time to time. It does it with every app and I've even noticed it when playing Aion although the 3D effects are fine. The card runs cool and is not overclocked so I just assume I got a bad card. I was hoping going from Windows XP to Windows 7 would resolve it but it didn't
-
I have a 5850 and I've experienced the grey screen of death twice, but only when trying to do two things with the card at once, i.e watching two videos at the same time.
-
I really2 want this laptop but...I don't need 8G of ram, I don't need Blu-Ray, I don't need 2 500GB HD, I don't need the 1080p screen, I want a 1600X900.
-
Seems like the N71JQ would be perfect for you then.
-
But I need the 5870 of course
-
Maybe I'm missing something, but what's the point of comparing a desktop with a laptop? Of course the desktop is cheaper, but harder to carry around. If you have no intention of doing that, get the desktop.
-
I think a laptop is more economicly friendly. If you use it 8 hours a day, it should save you a a couple of hundred dollars/euros in 3-4 years (unless american electricity is cheaper then ours..which I bet it is).
On the other hand, it seems that these gaming laptops tend to use more and power power every year... -
It's much cheaper since the cost of baby seals dropped below the cost of coal....and they burn a lot cleaner than coal.
We're all about the green initiative. -
Lol!!!!!!!!!
-
Isn't quite a 5750 because of the lower memory clock, but overclocking can change that. The 80 shaders ain't a big deal.
-
K so currently I have my preorder on GenTech with the added Intel Pro 5300 wireless card but everyone is saying the g73 only supports 2 not 3 antenna. Was it determined that there is any advantage over the stock card even though there is only 2 antenna allowed? Otherwise I think i should just change my order and save the money.
Also at some point I would like to get a car charger for this baby for road trips. This is probably a stupid question but is there a specific car charger i need to find online for the G73 or are there universal car chargers for all notebooks? -
I'm planning on getting in on the presale at Xoticpc for this bad boy but I'm curious if anyone would suggest getting the SSD hardrive along with the SATA as the second drive. Has anyone had first hand experience with the SSD drives for thier gaming laptops?
-
task for first adopters of this laptop - install Battlefield Bad Company 2 PC beta and run it. Then tell us all about the fps
this will make my decision whether or not to buy this laptop
-
Search is your friend. It has been talked about on many of the posts in this thread alone.
-
Hey folks, been reading up on this bad boy for a while now. How long after being released does it usually take before something like this comes to a retail store like Best Buy?
-
Any response yet? Keep me posted mate.
-
Well I don't think you should wait for BB since this beast will sell like hot cakes. They might not even have enough stock to fulfil all the online orders etc etc later on. Your best bet is to pre-order one now and avoid disappointment or the long wait.
-
Found out about this laptop a couple weeks ago and I'm amazed at its' specs! I was planning on buying the G72 but it seems this is MUCH better and the sites advertising both have them at the same price (which confuses me).
Is the price of the G72 expected to decrease once the G73 is released? If so any guesses by how much?
Also, does anybody know when/if NewEgg will have the G73 in stock? -

We have heard there might be another version of the G73 coming out, the G73JH-A2. The only thing different from what we have heard so far is it will have a DVDRW instead of a Blu ray. Otherwise the rest will be the same. It is expected to be approximately $100 cheaper.
-
I wonder if it will also be the one with only 2 Dimm slots ? 4 gigs of RAM would be standard ... Considering Asus cost of the Drive would be far less then $100.00 i figure something else is going to take a hit which would most likely be the RAM...
-
Thanks for the update.
