    Read the forum rules. They specifically say NOT to post the same question in multiple threads.

    And like I said elsewhere, if you can't figure out how to run a program with administrative rights, you probably shouldn't be flashing your vbios. You should RMA it and let asus do their job.

    I was also afraid to flash Bios/vBios. (first time even I've done it myself ^^)

    I followed the steps like described in many threads and everthing went fine! :)

    Big thanks to all the people that invested their time in these solutions. :)

    thumbs up!

    oh. btw, just to update, the "VFlash" u see were instructions from another site (ROG). And i did do "atiflash -p 0 Beta.rom" instead of VFlash, and i still get the same end result...THAT error.

    Are you booting to a FAT32 bootable flash drive? And your image is too huge for forum rules. 500x500 max or provide link, or imbed with thumbnail.

    From your screenshot, it looks like it's working fine.

    Try this at the command prompt before running the VFlash batch file:

    atiflash -unlockrom 0

    (And then try to flash again after running the unlockrom)

    You probably knew that, but just in case. :)

    But i tested my Starcraft 2. i still had it freeze, get a BSOD the first time. then it unfroze. then it froze, and never came back...had to force shut down.

    Uninstall, safe mode, driver sweep, cclean registry, reboot, install 10.8 again.

    I think you have some legacy driver crap mucking up things for you.

    Has anyone saw this bug with Cat 10.8 : when I connect my G73 to my HDMI t.v , the Underscan doesn't get apply. Normally I set it at 0% and every time I connect it, its like it set it back to default but it still show at 0%. I just have to click one time on it to make it look correct.
    This did not happen on the stock driver. so my guess is another ATI bug...

    Confirmed here.

    Not a showstopper, but it's a little annoying because it happens when using Fn-F8 to switch displays too.

    Read a rumor (unconfirmed by me) that it's a known bug and will be fixed in 10.10.

    Hello everyone, so I don't actually have an issue but well. So I'm very proud of my G73JH; I mean everything runs fine. I Love it.
    Even though I have a non issue with it: I need a case that fits that monster, as you might know it's a big computer and it's also my first 17" screen.
    Do you guys know what are the best cases on the market, knowing that I'm looking for something of good build but not to expensive.
    Kind regards. Gashet.

    Ps. again if I'm posting it in the wrong section just tell me and I'll go ask somewhere else.

    Hi everyone ,

    I just bought a G73JH and I've found 2 ( probably linked ) issues ; not knowing if u already discovered it , I will describe it :

    - the 3 buttons located in upper left part have no light and are not active
    - the " caplocks " lights are not active !

    I changed the ATK HOTKEY suite but with no effects !
    Anyone got an idea ?

    Thanks for your help anyway.

    1.0.0001 is available right from the G73JH page or you could try 1.0.0006 (or any version in between) from the ASUS downloads page (Notebooks/Drivers/ATK Package).

    ..and the HD audio via HDMi issues can only be solved with catalyst 10.3 or higher?
    Since i'm using Power DVD 10 ultra to get my audio bypassed via HDMI to my Denon avr-3808.

    I'm getting perfect DTS and Dolby Digital but it's impossible to get the HD audio to my receiver.

    i'm running everything "stock"
    Bios= 206,
    vbios=012.017.000.004.035992
    atidriver= atiumdag 8.683.0.0 / Win7 64

    must i update to catalyst 10.3 and so go for bios 211, vbios gary and then catalyst 10.8.

    Since my laptop is not showing any GSOD, etc etc

    thx

    hey guys, thx for this awesome thread. i would like to contribute something. yesterday i reinstalled my catalyst drivers with the full software suite. this process has turned the "amd external events utility" in the windows services from deactivated to always on. this has caused me keyboard lag, which could easily be removed by disabling this service again.

    see my OP and my reply on page three of this thread for more details:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/asu...3-keyboard-lag-since-bios-vbios-update-3.html

    i dont remember where or by whom on nbr.com i was given the idea to check this service, but it took me quite some time and google-ing to find this solution, so i think it might be worth stickying this problem and its solution in this thread.

    cheers^^

    Chastity suggested we turn these services and unnecessary AMD processes off, but it didnt help solve our missing keystrokes. The only thing we have so far is disabling the touchpad in Bios or uninstalling Synaptics both of which are not really acceptible solutions.

    i was talking about keyboard LAG, not missing keystrokes. i didnt have missing keystrokes, but general keyboard lag. when i was mashing "asdf" on my keyboard, it sometimes took up to half a second after i stopped typing before all the letters appeared on the screen, but no letters were missing.

    Ah my mistake then, i got both so i assumed if you have lagg you also have missing keystrokes. Well it doesnt solve missing keystrokes, but i cant say about lag, becouse i havent been testing for that.

    I am trying to update my graphic drivers to the last catalyst version: 10.8

    I uninstall actual ones, reboot, use driver sweeper, reboot, install the new ones.

    Except the 10.8 did not install the drivers during install and I remain with an unknow VGA card.

    The only way to get thing back properly is to used the driver from asus website.

    But I really need to update in order to play FFXIV.

    Somebody can help me?

    Thanks,

    Are you sure you downloaded 10.8 Mobility drivers? If you accidentally downloaded 10.8 desktop drivers, they won't find your card.
