    I just re-ordered mine from Gentech Pc... will be getting it by the end of next week :D

    Voodooi got the 1 day shipping option so he got it quick... most people will have it by monday or early of next week.

    So, yes it's out.

    Yup, the casing has two curves (left and right) on both sides going downwards. I'm in the process of taking pics and will upload them shortly. Btw, I didn't have a CD on me to place on the keyboard like you had requested since I'm @ school but I did place a mouse pad on the keys instead ;)

    I won't be able to measure the sides until either later or tomorrow since I don't have a access to a measuring tape :(

    @ibraveheart:
    Steam, BattleNet and D2D are all downloadable and you don't require a CD to play any of them ...just the way I like it.

    @LegitAsian:
    1 day shipping is the way to go if you're in Canada imo, or else you have to wait a BRUTAL 5-6 days if you live on the East/Atlantic like me.

    First shipment is depleted. Not sure about the second shipment, but it's supposed to be much larger than the first. I believe shipment #2 ships in 1wk+ but I could be wrong.

    You should probably contact a reseller and find out if there's still room on the second shipment and if they are shipping in a week (I got mine from GenTech, but it's up to you who you contact). :) Massive speculation may lead to disappointment :p

    Earlier probably... if it comes next week then it ships the week after... you'll receive it before nov 6... But contact them before quoting me.

    Ken put the order in and it will ship on Monday, the payment (cashier's check) hasn't even been sent, but I gave my credit card as a back up.

    It doesn't have the same mouse as the G73jw, and this saddened me. It comes with some razor standard puny mouse with no side buttons. But not a deal breaker imo.

    I guess any laptop is going to come with a standard mouse, but it is impressive that it is a laser mouse...

    for the G53 I thought it was appropriate to get a mouse that looks like it.

    Amazon.com: Razer Orochi Bluetooth Notebook Gaming Mouse: Electronics: Reviews, Prices & more

    It's bluetooth so no extra dangles like logitech's stuff (even though I love their stuff).

    Also, you CAN connect multiple bluetooth connections at one time, this was confirmed by my friend and I with his XPS. We connected his "connectland" mouse as well as my bluetooth headset and both worked flawlessly.

    There's a bunch of SC2 branded stuff coming out from Razer soon...
    Razer | For Gamers. By Gamers.? | Online Store - Razer StarCraft® II Peripherals

    The Naga is pretty cool, I don't know if I'd use it myself, tho:
    Razer | For Gamers. By Gamers.? | Online Store - Razer Naga Epic? Elite Wireless MMO Gaming Mouse

    I have this mouse. It's great, but there was a bit of lag when it idles, especially with stock firmware. I'm not sure about this on windows, but I was able to fix it in Linux by tweaking the connection settings (I have no idea how this would be accomplished in Windows). See my comments here:

    How come when I go to that link, it doesn't look like traditional amazon site? It's all yellow and chart-like and stuff??

    Also, @Everyone,

    I have experience with rubberized plastic, as two of my mobile phones (Samsung D500, D600) had it on the outside. YES--they get scratched/scraped very easily. Even if its in your pocket. And when it gets scratched, the marks appear to be almost gray colored, making them very noticeable to both the user and peers.

    Anywhoo, besides using the plastic thing that ppl put on their iphones' screens now, I'd suggest trying these: Con-Tact 180 in. x 18 in. Black Faux Leather Drawer/Shelf Liner - 15F-C6BA3-06 at The Home Depot. Back then, we were talking about doing this to our laptops, and some HP users actually put it on theirs (HP has glossy plastic lids). It's really cheap and can be bought at your local Home Depot (and I imagine Walmart or a hardware store would too). They can be peeled and reapplied and I don't think they have a sticky residue on the back.

    Regarding the screens themselves, I'd suggest finding a plastic screen protector similar to the ones that HORI makes for NDS/PSP which also don't have sticky residue on the back and can be peeled/reapplied without mess. Only problem is finding one that's large enough. Unless, that's what you guys were talking about with "ZAGG" ?

    Still waiting in Canada to get the local stores to have it in stock....

    Really need it to run multiple VMware (currently computer is really slow).

    glad to hear that it doesn't have serious problems like the g73-jh a1 though.

    ZAGG is known for making high quality film protectors that literally make your device scratch-proof. The film is surprisingly strong and flexible that you can use your protected device as a chopping board and it still comes out without a single scratch. The only problem is the time it takes to prepare and apply it to the device.

    Sorry if this post was a little too late. Just had to rant about that rabid MSI fanboy/troll like 10 pages back...

    Anyways, whoa, the G53 is pretty thick!! O.O
    And hows the screen on the regular 1080P? Is it as better than that atrcious 3D gaming screen i hope... 272:1 contrast is just sad...

    Really? COOOLLLLL. How much would it cost?

    Also, @Everyone concerned with mouse issues...Been using this for many years: Amazon.com: Logitech Optical Mouse- Black: Electronics: Reviews, Prices & more for BW. And used this for a an entire decade before it: Amazon.com: Microsoft Q66-00029 Optical Mouse, Basic OEM 3 Pack Wired PS/2 Interface (USB, 3 Button): Electronics. Both in white versions though :p My mousepad of choice you ask? A regular cork/wood clipboard from school :p

    Logitech G9X. Side buttons, tiltable wheel, and interchangable grip. Just an all around amazing mouse.

    @Everyone Else
    We need to find some options for film protection. Get on it, team! :p I spent like 3 hours looking argghh.

    @miahsoul
    Not that thick :p Nor is it heavy. I can have it on my lap for several hours without discomfort (I'm 6'4/180lbs if that matters)

    @myHostie
    Why not shop US? Easier to get and it's about 50$ cheaper after all things considered.

    I know, I know, I'm just nitpicking because everything else about the g53jw looks great so far...and I'm jealous of that g73jw mouse. But true it is a laser mouse, not often offered as a "freebie".

    I just feel like after this long trial I can complain about anything lol. (Hopefully next week will end the patience trial)

    I do plan on getting another mouse though :D

    Edit: I did send an email to ZAGG. Fight for the cause.

    Are we looking for just the screen+palmrest, or for the lid as well? For the lid, get the faux leather I linked to earlier. It's cheap. It'd work on the palmrest too. Plus, it looks like leather, if you don't mind being tacky :p

    EDIT: Also, to those who've emailed ZAGG already, can you give me their email and your message so I can copypasta/sorta and join the cause as well?

    Well, the ShaggyMac 17" is what I'm using between the keys and LCD when I carry it and it's flawlessly amazing.

    It's a lid film we're having issues finding. One reason being is that the left and right side of the lid curve down lol :p I'll check out that leather, but I'd much prefer a clear film. I guess I'll wait for a ZAGG response from one of you guys and in the meantime, I'll continue googling.

    What's power save mode? Is that through Windows or Asus's software/the button? Also, does "power save" mode have either WLAN turned off + minimal brightness + everything inside underclocked/undervolted?

    At least its not something that's breakable in the cheapy yellow bubbled envelopes :p. Bought a cover for my cell phone a while back, and it arrived cracked. They sent me a new one for free though, which cracked again, but watevs, it was only 2 bucks. That is a very good price though. If you want something local, check Meritline cuz they're located in City of Industry and have good prices for almost everything you could think of.

    Hey Voodooi, I haz question for you.
    I'm shopping around for a laptop sleeve, and I wanted to know... Do you think a standard 15.6"-16" would suffice, or should I go with a 17"?
    What do you guys think?

    Yeah Best Skins Ever has reasonable prices, but to be honest, they are always slower with new products...

    Here is what they will possibly tell you...

    "Hello [Insert Name],

    We will be adding a Skin for the [Insert Product] to our lineup in the near future. At this time we do not have an exact availability date but we expect it to be within the next week or so. Be sure to check back soon.

    Thank you for your interest. Please let us know if you have any other questions. We look forward to serving you in the future.

    Best Regards,

    Michael Herring
    President"

    Zagg is a bigger company and will more likely create a product despite it's limited consumer base.

    For me, I don't think I'll ever buy a screen protector for a laptop, I can never see myself damaging it.

    Plus any screen protector will always ruin the color or brightness of the screen... so I pass on that, that's also very expensive.

    Well, with my ShaggyMac Cloth Protector (for keyboard to LCD when it's closed and being carried), a 17" fits perfectly, so I'd say go with a 17" sleeve :)

    @Metallic
    I won't be touching screen protectors either. All you really need is that ShaggyMac cloth (or something similar). Keyboard has no chance of scratching the LCD with a cloth like that (when you "bag it" and go somewhere), which voids the screen protector completely :)

    I've bought a 17inch one. Just check the dimesions of the sleeve and make sure its a little bigger than the dimension of the G53 because G53 is thicker than an everyday laptop
