Any idea how Arma 2 runs on the G73?

Can someone point me to some AvP DX11 performance benchmarks/ screenshots?
Thanks! -
Now that we've had these for a little while what's the consensus on the turbo button and gfx card oc'ing for daily use?
At first I was oc'ing in amd tool to 800/1100 but stopped because i havent seen a huge enough increase in performance to justify it. Turbo button I quit using day 2. If Asus had replacements in stock I probably would oc the gfc card again, but worried now.
edit: thanks for the heads up on batman, just purchased it...i dont mind gfwl (same as steam for the most part imho) -
game does look great, but physx is suppose to make appear more realistic. with fluid motion and break away objects. instead of having a box break away in 500 pieces...it will now break away in 3000 pieces and fall the way a real box would..(speculation of course)
cryostasis has a all physx demo. -

In batman the physx is supposed to add smoke effects, cloth effects, and things breaking much more realistically
I did not realize that the game is made on the Unreal 3 engine - dam it is popular - that engine has always made a decent use of physx -
for those not knowing, vantage has an update.
so now jane nash doesn't take 5 years to load...lol -

WHAT>?!>!?!
AWESOME lol
(downloading now!) -
that patch should take like 30 seconds to download or you cn download the full version. 414mb or something like that
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
wow it is faster!
-
But isn't it possible to hack physx to use with an Ati Gpu? I saw some articles about that time ago
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
it was done when the desktop 4850s first came out but nvidia and ATI killed it, was some israely guy doing it
-
gotta love that update!!
well...im doing it now, but then...that's a desktop
radeon 5970 and gtx280 for physx.
not sure how you would go about using that 9400M though -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
no I am talking about running physx using the ATI core John, not 2 different cards
-
yeah, that's not happening. you use to be able to do with the 3870 as well.
and it wasn't nvidia..ati kicked nvida to the curb on the idea....nvidia opened the code to them. -
The new version of Vantage came up in the AW forums, LINK. There was a question on whether or not PhysX still inflated the CPU score.
-
physx is physx..you still need to disable it.
hummm, also...havent tried an nvida card with it yet either...so ill give that a test later.
scratch that..wont be able to test till Tuesday..just did a bad bios flash on my board. and the soonest i can get a replacement bios is Tuesday.

I guess you had enough of PM at one point
I only ask because with these settings I get a pretty consistent 49Low 99High and 76Avg FPS on Batman bench with stock clocks. I tried kicking that Hardware Accelarated Physx to Normal and they were not kidding with the warning, it killed the FPS.
Your lady sure was right, the graphics do look real good.

Someone can make some 3dMark06 bench with a 720 + with/without Oc on the gpu please ? I only see vantage bench on the first post.
thx -
Catalyst 9.12. I don't fee like re-downloading 3DMark06. I think the gaming benches are better for real game play performance. And 3DMark06 seems to be heavily based on CPU to me.
-
-
Not to hijack the thread or anything but I was just about to ask what's an average 3dMark06 100% stock for a 720... I just got 13002 which now seems about right. Thanks!
-
-
No. I wish I had one though. Nice avatar. Lol.

In what config are you guys running the 3Dmark Vantage test?
-
Look what I got...
720QM all stock.
Is it good? Some guys posted 8000+,thats why I`m worried...
Configs: 1280 x 1024
Multisample count: 1
Texture filtering: Optimal
Maximum anisotropy: 1
Loop count: 1
Quality: all PERFOMANCE
Post Processing scale: 1:2
Post processing: ALL ENABLE
I`m using Catalyst 10.3 Preview. -
8K+ is being posted because of over-clocking. Your score is around what it should be.
-
Thanks Sheldon for the reply...
BTW, I tested it with overclock (800/1100) and I got 8550 GPU SCORE,but I`m afraid of using OC all the time...waht do you think? -
I wouldn't do it unless you had specific reason for it.
-
Vantage Score Stock 8058
Vantage Score Turbo And 800/1100 Gpu 8837
3d Mark06 Score 12896
Super Pi To 1M 15.724 Seconds
2M 38.954 Seconds
I Don't Know If This Is Right But All 4 Cores At The Same Time Run At 2.9 Ghz. Before my Pi was 28 sec and 58 sec
rUNS VERY QUIET AND COOL

I don`t use Twin Turbo. Should I use it?
-
Guys, when I play a game, the frames are ''breaking'',so, to solve the issue,I have to turn de Vsync on. It hapenned in Resident Evil 5 Benchmark and in Dragon Age. I use all on high with 8x AA (resolution 1920 x 1080 16:9).BTW, I use the new drivers (10.3 preiew)
Why is this happening?Any ideas? -
So G73 owners... does this machine has similar throttling issue like G50s/60s series do?
-
Understand what it's doing and use extra cooling and you can benchmark using it.
-
I know this has been discussed some three times, but it seems nobody has found an answer. Does ANYONE know for sure where the intake is? I think Sleey0 say it was in the hump on the back, but Drake corrected him and said those were speakers?
One way to test might be to get a bunch of candles, put them on a table and blow them out. Right when the candle is extinguished it releases a lot of visible smoke so with a couple candles you cans see the currents pretty well. Maybe when that smoke is in the air, hold a G73 with the fans running over the smoke and see where it goes?
I ask because I may want to keep it on a cooler when I'm doing more intense stuff at home, and I feel like most coolers would be useless if they're just blowing air at the solid bottom of the g73. Yea, it might to a LITTLE, but it would be better to direct cool air at the actual intake wherever it may be.
Ps. Im a car person so i'm big on airflowcold air intakes FTW!

j/k You would need to get an external monitor. It's rare to find a laptop panel with a refresh rate higher than 60. I think MSI just released one. -
But Mandrake, I`m not getting even 60 FPS at these games!
The frame rate is between 30~50 -
-
-
-
-
Mandrake,I`m using FRAPS (free edition) to record in DragonAge. But,in RE5,the game benchmark is recording less than 60 FPS too...
