Now that we've had these for a little while what's the consensus on the turbo button and gfx card oc'ing for daily use?

At first I was oc'ing in amd tool to 800/1100 but stopped because i havent seen a huge enough increase in performance to justify it. Turbo button I quit using day 2. If Asus had replacements in stock I probably would oc the gfc card again, but worried now.

edit: thanks for the heads up on batman, just purchased it...i dont mind gfwl (same as steam for the most part imho)

depends on what you think physx is...
game does look great, but physx is suppose to make appear more realistic. with fluid motion and break away objects. instead of having a box break away in 500 pieces...it will now break away in 3000 pieces and fall the way a real box would..(speculation of course)
cryostasis has a all physx demo.

In batman the physx is supposed to add smoke effects, cloth effects, and things breaking much more realistically

I did not realize that the game is made on the Unreal 3 engine - dam it is popular - that engine has always made a decent use of physx

yeah, that's not happening. you use to be able to do with the 3870 as well.
and it wasn't nvidia..ati kicked nvida to the curb on the idea....nvidia opened the code to them.

The new version of Vantage came up in the AW forums, LINK. There was a question on whether or not PhysX still inflated the CPU score.

I guess you had enough of PM at one point :)

I only ask because with these settings I get a pretty consistent 49Low 99High and 76Avg FPS on Batman bench with stock clocks. I tried kicking that Hardware Accelarated Physx to Normal and they were not kidding with the warning, it killed the FPS.

Your lady sure was right, the graphics do look real good.

Catalyst 9.12. I don't fee like re-downloading 3DMark06. I think the gaming benches are better for real game play performance. And 3DMark06 seems to be heavily based on CPU to me.

8K+ is being posted because of over-clocking. Your score is around what it should be.

Guys, when I play a game, the frames are ''breaking'',so, to solve the issue,I have to turn de Vsync on. It hapenned in Resident Evil 5 Benchmark and in Dragon Age. I use all on high with 8x AA (resolution 1920 x 1080 16:9).BTW, I use the new drivers (10.3 preiew)
    Why is this happening?Any ideas?

Twin Turbo raises your BCLK frequency. CPU goes from 133 to 142 and memory from 666 to 712. Your turbo mode multipliers also do not change when this happens meaning your cpu frequency will be 142 x turbo multi.

Understand what it's doing and use extra cooling and you can benchmark using it.

    LCD refresh is too slow.

I have an i7-920XM with no throttling issues.

I know this has been discussed some three times, but it seems nobody has found an answer. Does ANYONE know for sure where the intake is? I think Sleey0 say it was in the hump on the back, but Drake corrected him and said those were speakers?

One way to test might be to get a bunch of candles, put them on a table and blow them out. Right when the candle is extinguished it releases a lot of visible smoke so with a couple candles you cans see the currents pretty well. Maybe when that smoke is in the air, hold a G73 with the fans running over the smoke and see where it goes?
I ask because I may want to keep it on a cooler when I'm doing more intense stuff at home, and I feel like most coolers would be useless if they're just blowing air at the solid bottom of the g73. Yea, it might to a LITTLE, but it would be better to direct cool air at the actual intake wherever it may be.
Ps. Im a car person so i'm big on airflow :D cold air intakes FTW!

j/k You would need to get an external monitor. It's rare to find a laptop panel with a refresh rate higher than 60. I think MSI just released one.

Does it go away with vsync? If yes then either your monitor has a problem (doubt it) or you are really getting over 60FPS but what ever you are using to record the fps is not displaying the frame rate when it goes over 60.
