The 770M version is allready avaible in the Netherlands. I also hope that the 780M version will be avabile soon. Otherwise I will go with Clevo/Sager.

    Hi,

On Asus website, do you know why they talk about:
    * G75VX: "Full HD 3D (1920x1080) LED Backlight"
    * G750JH: "Full HD 3D(1920x1080 120Hz) Non-Glare LCD Panel (Optional)"
Is there any differences between 3D screens? Thanks in advance.

I just found an interesting (for me) G75VX to buy. (1669 eur, GTX 670MX of course, 3D 120 Hz, 12 GB SDRAM, BD burner, 256SSD + 1To 5400rpm...)
But I'm really afraid of "well known" 1) bad wifi card and 2) problems with speakers 2.1.
... and buying a G75 now, I would feel like buying a very old but expensive model. :D
(Even if personally I find the G75 more beautiful, compared to G750!)

I guess a similar G750JH (120 Hz, SSD, BD burner) with GTX 780M, a good wifi ac card, a good sound and a thunderbolt port ("future ready") would be great... even if it's first Haswell and GTX 7xx models. But I'd have to wait it, I'd have to find it, and it would probably be more expensive.
    Hard choice!

I'm new to thunderbolt ports in PCs. Does anyone know if they can run those thunderbolt docks? You know all in one docks so all you need to hook it up at home is the thunderbolt 1 plug and thats it.

So the 765M & 770M model is slimmer than the 780M model everyone is talking about (Reading the countless pages here). So why do the dimensions & weight quoted by ASUS and in videos at computex 2013 remain the same over the 765/770 and 780 range???

Has anyone got a pic of them both side by side. I would prefer the 780M to replace my desktop 570 GTX and i5 2500K. Its got more power than my desktop PC!. But its its going to be a 3" think unit I would have second thoughts for sure.

Are the GPU's on this laptop replaceable? MXM type or something else? Also, what is PSU power?

Hi. I'm looking for owner G750 with GTX 765M, to check GPU Clock on graphic card. I got G750JW from BB and GPU Clock on my laptop is 797MHz, instead of 850MHz like in reviews of Clevo/MSI laptops with this card.
BTW, card overclocks very easily with MSI Afterburner and stays cool.

Few things I dislike about ASUS ROG notebooks are

    1. They hide or exclude msata slots.
    2. The maintenance bottom cover tend to be fairly limited, exposing only HDDs and a little more.

Still G750 seems to be a beast especially after inheriting design principle of G46VW. I read that the CPU is BGA but I could care less about that. I've never replaced CPU/GPU on laptops anyway.

I didn't see the msata slots from a review that opened the bottom panel which means it's in not so easily reached place and may even require dismantling.

The worst location would be below keyboard.

I need to find out where the msata slots are then. If I have to dismantle the whole laptop just to replace masta drives, that would suck and could be a potential deal breaker.

I think I read somewhere, that they are next to the slots that are reachable by opening the rear panel, but they are hard to get to, and you have to remove another screw for easier access. I could just be making this up though, at this point I'm practicaly dreaming about gaming laptops every day, the wait is killing me! :D Is there still no word on the GPUs being MXM compatible or not? Where are the reviews for this machine, it's been out for a week now.

Maybe they use a mSATA Caddy? (2 x mSATA In Primary Hard Drive )
(However, there is so few differences between SDD and RAID0 SSD that I'd prefer without RAID I think. ;) )

Lucky people with the G750 doesn't have any trouble with speakers? And with WIFI?

I find many G750 (and G75) on many websites around the world... unfortunately, never with 3D + wifi AC + thunderbolt! (What I'm looking for...)

how much stuff does it come preloaded with? I was considering getting a 120gb Samsung 840 pro to fill the second storage slot, and cloning the contents of the standard 750GB HDD onto it (hopefully the software included with the SSD will be able to do it, I've never done that before)

    Hi,

Where I live (the netherlands) the G750JX-T4039H is for sale in several webshops since about a week now.
    specs are:
    1080 antiglare
    12 gb ram
    256ssd + 750hd

The gpu listing has me confused. 2 webshops note that the gpu is the gtx 770m.
All others mention the gtx 770mx.

I thought the x versions weren't even available... and aus homepage doenst mention the x either. But most webshops do...?
Anyone here knows whats going on?

    Hello,

Where I live (the netherlands) the G750JX-T4039 is for sale in several webshops. Specs are these:

    • Intern geheugen: 12 GB ram
    • On-board videokaart: GeForce GTX770MX
    • Opslagcapaciteit harde schijf: 750 GB + 256 SSD
    • Processorfamilie: 4e generatie Intel® Core™ i7
    • Resolutie: 1920 x 1080 Pixels

Check the graphics card... most webshops say it is the one with X. But 2 webshops mention the gtx 770m.
I thought the x version wasn't available yet. But here it looks like it is??

    Any here have a clue?

This is probably a typo error. :D

BTW may i ask, anyone here using the G750 for colledge work? I've got a mate using the G75 and he carries the laptop in his backpack everyday 5 times a week to and from college, he says the weight is no big deal given the number of pros he is enjoying on it, Would like to know more opinions from others who are using it as a mobile powerhouse as i'm currently deciding to get this beast for college work. :D I don't mind the size of it since it is quite slim.

I have used my G73JH for about 3 years of college, bringing it with me every day (in their supplied backpack). It weighs roughly 4 kilograms (8.5 pounds), and it was not a problem at all. The backpack they provided gave really good back-care and until this day never broke. Ofcourse it weighs more than the average laptop, but it didn't bother me at all to carry it around.

how heavy the laptop feels on your back depends entirely on the quality of the backpack and how well it distributes the weight. A saggy, baglike one will yank at your shoulders and bounce around as you walk, making you feel all the inertia of a big laptop.

Great point there! At my current city, their bundling the g750 with a backpack, i do hope it's the asus one as it'll be design specially for the laptop :D

I'll definitely do a video unboxing and review if i end up getting this beast :D

Maybe... but the G750JX could be 3D, could have thunderbolt, could have Wifi ac... so I'm not sur that the JH model is really the only solution for me.
In my area (Belgium/Netherlands) the G750JX-CV151H is coming really soon (LED/3D/FHD/i7 4700HQ /DRAM 12G/1TB 2.5" 5400 SATA + 256G SSD/BD Writer), and you can find it for 1650 eur. There is 3D, but unfortunately no thunderbolt (only display port) and no Wifi ac (only wifi n)...

In France -weird keyboard ; ) - you can find a very similar one with Wifi ac, thunderbolt, but no 3D, and without BD burner, like G750JX-T4045H for example.
And you can already order some G750JH, with GTX780M, but without 3D, without Wifi ac and without thunderbolt...
Up to now,you always have to chose. There is no super model with everything, it's frustrating! :D

And yes, it seems that the RoG backpack is great, so it is easily transportable (even if it's not an Ultrabook, of course). However for college, battery could be a problem if you can't plug it. Powerful parts, no Optimus, sometimes 3D screen: it drains power, even with Haswell I guess.

haha yeah I'm trying to convince myself that 770m+3D is going to be better value than 780m+nothing (I recall reading that the 3D screen is brighter than the 2D version even when not using 3D). Unfortunately, I am also aware that since 3D halves the FPS, it will be impossible to game with it at 1080p on recent games.
As far as battery life goes, I come from an Envy 15 which has 2.5 hours battery when spanking new so 5 hours is going to feel like a LOT, optimus or not :D

3D makes me dizzy, so I wouldn't buy laptops with 3D screens which means waste of money in my case. I just want screens without dead pixels. I am not too picky about quality unless it's smokingly bad.

The 3D screen can do 120hz which is useful in FPS games, also the brightness is 400nit vs 250nit on the normal display. ;)

In addition 3D screens are much higher contrast ratio and have more color gammut + are higher quality.

(Worth getting even if you hate 3D.)

exactly my point. a 3D screen *should* make for a better overall experience even without the glasses. Youtube, pictures and 2D games should see benefit as well, and the added brightnss should offset the slight loss caused by the matte surface. Where's the source on the 400 nit?

Lets see what comes around on 26th when JH incl. 780m is anounced. For me there are two important items on this configuration: affordable price ~ 2000€ with 780 equipped (even with min. Storage w/o 3d will be ok) and good fan solution (concerning loudness). I hope Asus will bring us an silent gamer (compared to other 780m laptops) again *keep fingers crossed*...
