It does. It fills the large gap that existed between the GTX 675MX and the GTX 680M.

Anyone knows if the G750 will come out with a model with these specs :-

    x1 - 780M GTX GFX Card
    x2 - 2.5" SATA Hard Disk Drive
    x1 - Thunderbolt connector

To mention some top new games where the GTX 780M really crush GTX 680M:

    Tomb Raider, 2x the performace
    Crysis 3, 35% better
    Hitman: 50% better
    Sleeping Dogs, 35% better
    Battlefield 3, 44% better

Now think about that Asus had the GTX 670MX as their top card. GTX 780M will completely run that card over. We are maybe talking 70-80% faster.
    Whats not to like?

I'm going to an even better heaven upgrading from my 9700m in my G71. I can't even play most new games anymore, and now I'll be able to play them all fully maxed out. I'll have 3 years of gaming to make up, thank god I'm free for the summer! Hope my girfriend won't mind me being a zombie for a few months too much :p

    which will be better?
Asus g75vx with 670mx or Upcoming models with 765m or 770m?. I think the gt765m model will be within 1300$ mark (within my limits).

If you're in the US, you could probably get the G75VX with 8GB RAM and self install a better SSD and HDD for about $1,500, so that might be a bit of information you might find useful.

Although, IMO, I wouldn't pay extra for just a ~4% average performance increase. I would consider it for aesthetics though! :p

8 lbs and 9 ounce to be exact.

    just like Quad said. :)

All G750 will have 1x Intel Thunderbolt port. GPU and SSD/HDD are different according to the SKUs.

    Pricing range:

    - GTX765M: affordable
    - GTX770M: acceptable
    - GTX780M: heart attack.

I will be buying from US but I need global warranty which Asus already has :D . Yeah I was looking at xoticpc's g75vx comes within $1200 and will buy an ssd and install myself. I think from the pics the g75 series looks better than this upcoming g750, atleast rear exhaust view. Lets see if we get to see any better hands on video during computex 2013.

Well... For $2.500 I can get Alienware M18 the way I want (with 780 most likely) ... Hopefully Asus can figure out those SKU's. Or better yet- PowerNotebooks, Xoticpc , and Gentech , can let us customize it a bit,so we can lower that price tag. Otherwise they will shoot themselves in the foot, me thinks. I also want to see better audio system with proper sub-woofer this time around.

    Cheers

Hmmm - I could totally deal with that amount of weight.
I'm assuming you'll be ovffering said deal then..? I'd totally be interested in seeing how much I could knock off the 780M version to keep it do-able for me. Could you PM me or are you still under NDA?
Pretty much my view on it - let me know if you can help me alleviate the problem?

First time poster and member! I have been stalking the forums for too long now.. :hi2:

XoticPC seems to have the G750JH-DB71 available for pre-order starting today.

What confuses me is, the manual and promotional video both show an optional IR emitter in the form of a second triangle beside the webcam on "certain models".

However, isn't the "JH" with the 24GB ram and SSDs supposed to their top model?

Hopefully they release/announce a G750 with the emitter. I want a GTX780M, but I don't like sticking with a 60fps v-sync cap for screen-tear and such.. I really hope they make it happen!

It seems that the above model can't be paired with any less than 16GB of RAM, and even then, that's ADDING cost to the order.

I wonder why...(I'm chatting with them now)

Also - it seems it uses 2x 128GB SSD's - does this mean that they're in RAID then? I honestly am having a hard time not just pre-ordering this now.... I don't know if I'd be able to get an Alienware with comparable specs for any less, and this saves build time...

    Decisions decisions!

I'm hoping so. For $2450, I can get...
    • Intel Haswell Core i7-4700MQ (2.4Ghz+)
    • NVIDIA GTX 780M (4GB GDDR5)
    • 24GB 1600MHz RAM
    • Two 128GB SSD's in Super RAID
    • 1 TB 5400rpm HDD
    • Blu-Ray Reader
    • 1 Year Global Hardware Warranty
    • 1 Year Asus Accidental Damage Protection
    • Asus 30 Day Zero Bright Dot Pixel Guarantee

    Worth it..?

Also, it seems the guy I spoke to didn't know if they could reduce the ram to 8GB, said he would need to ask management and wait for the machines to come in. Also, that the two hard drives are likely in RAID, and can be replaced most likely, with a regular hard drive.

    SuperRaid with ASUS?

That's not a bad deal, but I wouldn't call it superb. If you can get a longer warranty for the price, that will be a great deal.

    Thank you very much :)

Just to be completely honest here: Asus need to get a different SKU out ASAP.
This one is with 24GB DDR3 and 2*128GB SSD. For $2499. Way too much money for many people

You can get a GT70 with GTX 780M for $1999. They have that GT70 for $2499 too with all the extra crap like Asus. So Asus need to get a $2000 model out ASAP if they want to sell well

It's listed as "128GB Solid State Drive (Super RAID) mSATA - [ In Primary Hard Drive Bay ]" in the customization options. I will try for a longer warranty, hopefully xotic pc is cool with that, idk...

2x128 SSDs sound great, but would be way cheaper if you install them yourself in the barebone. I'm willing to shell out about 2000 euros, but I'm not going to if I don't have to. I have a few questions for you guys. What is the difference between a 3D screen and a non 3D screen? Besides the obvious. Let me rephrase that. Is the 3D screen superior than the 2D screen in 2D situations? And how much RAM is too much. I was thinking that 16GB is already overkill, and that there's no way I can use that (not a graphical designer, only use the laptop for gaming). Is there any improvement at all if you have more RAM? Thanks.

    I can answer your questions.
    1. I personally have an HP ENVY 17 3D - but I have yet to use the 3D feature once. One benefit I see outside the 3D movies and such is thatit has a refresh rate of 120hz, rather than 60hz. I won't get into the argument of "Does that even make a difference" - but it's there. Outside of that, there's not too much of a difference. You could swap out the extra cost of a 3D display and get a nice looking, high gamut 2D display, and be better off - I think.
    2. RAM depends on what you will be doing with your machine. If all you will be doing is gaming and regular use, 16GB is the absolute max you should ever need. I have 8GB 1600MHz on my ENVY, and I've never maxed out or come close to. 12GB should be more than enough, but 8GB should work fine unless you do photo work.

I can very much agree with this! While in 2D, if your screen is set to 120hz some people will even say moving windows around and the sort feels smoother. I see that too while in the OS, but the big difference is even if you're not into the 3D mode, it's nice to have the 120hz cap for when you're playing fast-paced games and stuff.

And, you're right guys. It also seems that ASUS is doing what MSI had done with their previous GT models with the "Super Raid" since the JH model comes with 2x 128GB SATAs like you guys have already said. I guess one difference is MSI's new top model, their Dragon Edition 2, comes with three of them and they call that "Super Raid 2". Already though, if you have your eyes set on the JH and are willing to spend that much - any pair mSATAs in RAID should already be fast enough :)

No idea - but one thing that's surprising about this model is that it's only 5.5lbs That's good. Wasn't it assumed that it would be somewhere like 8+lbs?

    There's no way the 780M G750 is 5.5 lbs....

I'm loving the laptop itself, but that SKU is terrible. If that's the only one they release, Asus actually found a way to screw things up.

Just noticed the same: "NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 780M 4,096MB PCI-Express GDDR5 DX11 w/ Optimus™ Technology" direct from XOTICPC.... typo or true? This is a big deal for some of us.

Have to wonder if they have posted without all the info... or were the previous thoughts here incorrect saying no way for Optimus? Very curious to see....

Haha yeah pretty much. I saw that under the technical specifications on XoticPC's website. I chatted with an employee on their webiste online and mentioned it. He said those were apparently the specs ASUS sent them, but there's literally no way it could be 5.5 lbs. That would make it even lighter than the Razer Blade and Alienware M14x.

That would be incredible, but there's just no way that can be true.

as a Chinese,we do not trust on our own IT medias such as ZOL or PConline, they sometimes make mistakes,so let's ignore it :p
as we all know that the G46VW is already more than 5lbs,so IMO G750 may be over 8lbs as G75 is

OK,as i look through XOTICPC.COM,i get some information about the coming G750JH(Which SKU we pay most attention)
Through the comparation between the NEW G750JW/JX/JH,the price gap between 24GB and 8/12GB RAM is under 200USD(about 180)
and the 128*2 SSD should be at about 300USD,so if ASUS pick out an SKU with no SSD and 8/12G RAM,the price may be between $2000 and $2100:thumbsup:
IMO i like it,and be more hopeful to have an SKU like this

Really? That is upsetting.. the manual someone posted a while ago mentioned it as well as the promotional video for the laptop that seemed to show an IR emitter beside the web camera in the form of another black triangle. Strange though.. That sucks a lot!

Maybe I just have to wait, sometimes I wish I wasn't so picky. :p

...Why would they disable optimus. That's the dumbest thing Asus has ever done.

speakers seem to be the same as G75VW. better than average.

maybe the mainboard are reserved for 3D model for future release, because if optimus is enabled then the nVidia 3D vision will not work.

An otherwise perfect laptop that I'm now forced to completely discount. What a huge pity...

Thank you for the great and thorough video!

Why would they both disable Optimus AND not include a 120hz 3D screen? Wouldn't it be relatively easy for ASUS to at least enable Optimus, as they already have the tools for that?

Otherwise this will definitively be my new laptop of choice! I currently have a G73JH and this G750JH with the GTX780M and an SSD (or 2 in raid?) will be a great upgrade.
