Thank you for the reply.
Thank you for listing the master specs. Just to clarify is the G751JT-CH71 the only model available and will the specs vary from each reseller? I am just unsure what the actual specs would be out of box if retailers and resellers can change the default specs.
In terms of the TN and IPS panel, which is actually better overall?
-
-
Everyone is like IPS's fanboys right now so it's you to judge.
-
There is no way to disable motion blur, it's inherent quality of IPS panels. Now I'm not saying this panel has motion blur but with IPS panels it's more noticeable. Response time is usually higher than TN panels.
-
Thanks for your quick answer...
Even if "heavily affected" kinda scare me
-
I don't know but Windows wallpapers (and only windows one) look so ugly on this screen, they do not even look just grainy, but kind of very pixelised...
-
But have anyone who own a G751 experienced motion blur? Is it too bad? Thanks
-
I never used something else than IPS screens, so i can't say. But i have no complaints about that screen.

That's another reason why I'm considering this notebook, watching movies on an IPS panel should be awesome plus I'll need it for school as right now I don't have any PC with a dedicated video card.
-
IKAS V, the joke was that we can now disable Motion Blur in games, save CPU/GPU, and let the IPS panel add the Motion Blur for free
-
ZerockX, nah, just joking, I doubt there is any perceptible motion blur on the G751 IPS screen
Can those of you that have already received your G751 confirm there is no motion blur with the new IPS screen? -
If you order this from Canada as a gift will there still be import charges applied?

IPS is many, many times better than a TN for everyday use. I have been gaming on IPS now for a while (before was TN) and you really don't notice any blur in gaming situations. Then for browsing, movies etc it's like honey on the eyes.

I don't think that's a bootable drive with hm87 tho

It seems like Gentech PC has now the Asus G751JT in stock!

- AMD Radeon 7690M w/ 1GB VRAM -> Nvidia Geforce 970M w/ 3GB VRAM
- 8GB 1600Mhz RAM -> 16GB 1600Mhz RAM
- 750GB 7200rpm HDD (x2) -> 512GB SATA III SSD + 1TB 7200rpm HDD + 750GB 7200rpm HDD
- HD TN Panel Display -> HD IPS Panel Display
- HP -> ASUS ROG
I think the wait may just kill me. C'mon Asus, hurry it up! -
Just got my ASUS G751JY-DH73-CA ($1 954.02 USD). Same spec than the ASUS G751JY-DH71 from the US ($2,499.00 USD)
I'M so happy

i would too but the global warranty doesnt exist for canadian ones ;/
-
the Asus ADP 1 year warranty ? I have register my product with no problem at all... and it's write on the box
-
im chasing the 2-3 year warranties; not one...
-
I think the warranty applies to Canada and USA only for the 1 year. I get mine tomorrow, still debating the extended warranty.
-
dont you have to buy it at point of sale?
which is why im chasing the global warranty -
No, they will offer it afterwards. I talked to the guys at NCIX.com.
-
thats not a global warranty...
-
Never said it was, read my posts.

G751 Upgrade Guide - Republic of Gamers

ASUS G751JY-DH71
ASUS G751JY-DH72 (4870HQ model)
they both say 2 drives??? -
So guys! Where can I get one of this jy asus in Canada ?
In a good proce of course. : ) -
ive placed the order on my like a week ago i talked to newegg they said they can not guarantee that will this item on release date which is fine so add another week easy on top of the 4th of November. Im going to order that SSD to upgrade as well. keep me posted once u get your ill let u know when u get mine as well hopefuly it wont take longer than what you are expecting. ive also ask them if theyre is alot demand for this item it sounded like their is so if anyone dont want to wait another month after release date i suggest they pre-order, i have high expectation for this laptop im current using the latest GPU from nvidia and i gotta say its uses half of the power my older gpu uses and performs marvelously the only this i see as a draw back is the it had only 3gb i have read all post no body is really concerned with this, but i got say more ram on the gpu would be nice specially with the new DirectX 12. i was really on the wall on this i still chose this asus laptop cause of the ips screen and over all quality of asus laptop, i have a asus laptop that i bought 4 years ago it has gone through hell and its still working my wife even put it a wet carpet over 12 hours it didn't want to start for the 1st day but the day after it worked again like nothing had happened to it i was shocked i for sure thought that i had to buy a new one, but no still working like a champ, so if anyone out there reads this sorry for any errors, but im sure this is the best buy over all anf if any one wants to see of this laptop go to fry's electronics they have the older models there its okay compared to the this new version, this new model from what i read so far is far superior.
too long of a comment!!ZerockX likes this. -
How much did you pay in the end?
Try using basic grammar and paragraphing then, perhaps?
-
How did you get it for that price? I want to buy a JY version for less than 2k in the US.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
-ca would suggest Canadian to me.
-
Could i upgrade the optical drive? I want a bluray burner, but i want the model with 970m.
Could we see the keyboard without light at night? -
If you are at minimum luminosity, you can't. But that is why keyboard backlight is there.
-
aware, which is why i added the part about buying it in the US.
hopefully there is a drop on black friday to less than 2k -
I repeat the question:
If you are without light in the room and the Keys without light; could you read the keyboard?
Now i can read my Hp keyboard because the keys have white letters, but the G751 letters are without colour.
Could i change the optical drive to bluray burner? -
Anyone?....
-
I don't get what you are asking... without replacing the optical drive for a HD caddy there is room only for 1x M2 SSD and a SATA 2.5" drive, or 2x SATA drives.
-
Then why does exotic show 2 msata ssd and an extra Bay for a ssd/hd?
-
Lol!!!
Email from Asus: "The G751 will arrive december/january to Spain" -
Wow..
congratulations .. Do u know, if Canadian version of ASUS G751JY DH72 ( $2999) is available, if yes what will be probable price..? also Did u buy online or store ? Actually I was nervous to send 2500$ online .. when the price is so tempting.. (I am not in Canada .. I will ask 1 of my frens to buy it n ship it to me) thnx
-
I have a question, if you buy from the US or Canada will you still be entitled to the standard 1 year warranty and is it possible to get the extension warranty as well?
-
can someone point out where teh 2nd msata port is as per xoticpc customisation saying there is 2 msata spots & one sata slot for a 2.5" ?
-
I started a thread on the ROG forum out of curiousity to ask why ASUS are using the 4GB versions and not the 8GB... http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...not-8GB-for-980M-Not-in-line-with-competitors
Lets see what they say.
Please don't repeat yourself, you already posted this question above and you need to have some patience rather than expecting people to reply to you within 10 minutes
See the official ASUS forum for information and do some research, rather than just believing everything you read: Notes before buying G751 series
"> Only one of the drive bays has an optional M.2 slot. Both have SATA ports. You cannot run 2x 2.5" SSD + M.2 for example, but you can run 2x 2.5 inch or 1x 2.5 inch + 1x M.2. (The G771 can run 2x 2.5" + M.2 however!)" -
@ Richdog
The 4GB 980M is soldered to the MOBO and the 8GB 980M is not and is MXM (upgradeable)
As to why they don't use the 8GB card it's probably cheaper using the soldered 4GB card. -
Guys I was looking at the GT72 thread, the overclocked performance they get out of the 980m seems to be very nice... up to 20% in some situations! http://forum.notebookreview.com/msi...ro-gtx-980m-review-htwingnut.html#post9808656
Sweet.
Ahhh ok that makes sense, thanks! To be honest I don't think it's a huge deal then... it's not as though I won't upgrade to a new machine in a couple of years when the warranty runs out. By then I'm sure we will be at the next gen anyhow. -
If you want it for the sub $2000USD you'll most likely have to get ot from Canada, until the US prices come down to earth. The only issue is sometimes keyboards in Canada come with an English and French keyboard. Usually it doesn't, but the Windows software has an option to switch it from one to the other. Just a pain.
I just got mine, shes big n' sexy. -
I have just spoken to my friend in Canada and he has told me the Asus G751 is not in shops but has to be purchased online and he also stated the price of $2999. Is what he is saying at all accurate?
-
Ncix.Com. $2199. They have online and store stock.
-
Arent stores over in Canada selling this laptop yet?
Would you say that website is the cheapest in terms of price?
