Same here. I'm using the same backpack. It a nice backpack for g73. You can put everything you need on it. mouse, ac adapter, the laptop, cooler and more. The only thing that is not ok on it is that its a backpack for alienware. so whoever see me with that backpack they are asking me what model of AW do i have and I always answered "It's not AW its ASUS!" -.-

Your reply should be "I don't do Alienware. I do better."

Boo-yah! a bag that is finally big enough for the G73.

Here is the Timbuk2 classic messenger XL:

This thing is listed at 26"X14"-WRONG I measured it flat on a surface and it is 26................X16!! lol.

My pics of it are here.

This thing is very big and in one pic you can see that it could hold 4 G73s easily.

Not many pockets and they are pretty small. Also no padding I know that is a huge deal for some but for me I think the laptop is pretty rugged ,although certain times I will sleeve the laptop in this.

Also I got the timbuk2 foldup totes and will use those and this to do my grocery shopping from now on.

Quality is as good as I have read about ,top notch. I saw some testimonials on years of work and outdoor enthusiast with Timbuk2s bags and no issue on longevity.

Here is a link to where you can get it for a decent discount $62.97 at Real cyclist

Can't wait to see the Timbuk2 sleeve it should fit this too according to Timbuk2.

If you are truly crazy you can custom a Timbuk2 Lex Pack XXL or just L works too.
    The XXL is insane big.

I'm using the STM Large Loop bag:
Amazon.com: STM Bags DP-1107-1 Large Loop Backpack, Fits up to 17…

Holds the G73 plus my work 15.6" laptop (Latitude D630) just fine. I travel internationally a lot, and this bag works like a champ.
I just put the G73 in the main compartment, and my work laptop in the secondary compartment. It is a snug fit however, maybe too snug for some. But I use a sleeve on my G73 as well while in the backpack.

Pretty cheap too, relatively, at $60

First of all thanks for all the reading I did the past 2 weeks regarding the g73 and the Slappa backpack. Both showed up this week and Im getting both ready for my trip back to sea and I'm hoping its a lot less boring with the laptop.

I know this is my first post and hell I wouldnt trust anyone with a first post selling anything but I have my ASUS ROC backpack for sale on ebay. Im not even sure the value of the backpack and Im not trying to make money off it. I just know some people on this forum wanted one. Mods let me know if i need to remove this

Do you guys think that the backpack that comes with the new Crysis 2 special edition will be big enough to fit the G73?

As seen from the image above, the main attraction of this most pricey $200 edition is a 46cm x 34cm ( 18in x 13in) backpack that comes complete with the metallic spine seen on the Nanosuit.

Very doubtful the G73 is 16.6"X12.7"X.8"-2.3"

There is only one bag not Jumbo sized that might do it and it is the Ogio Santo

    18"X14"

It has the compartment all the way in the inside back pad and appears to be taller than the bag itself.

Does anyone know if G73 fits in Alienware Orion "Messenger" bag (not the backpack)?

    Here's a link to it.

I think it fits though? Isn't m17x a little bigger than G73? Some m17x owners use Orion messenger bag.

    here's a link for referencing

I have to admit, that's one nice looking backpack. However, in your pix, it seems that the lappy isn't suspended above the bottom of the bag = dangerous.

Just out of curiosity, is the backpack that comes with the A73JH-A1 alright and of good quality? Also, what colour is it? The picture on Amazon is of a black bag (which I can live with), but is it really orange and green instead?

The backpack that comes with the laptop is pretty good quality and has a little extra room for things.

I ended up getting a Samsonite Xenon messenger bag with my laptop for $40.00. It fits in there real good and has space for extra things. The heatsink/fan end of the G73 is a little snug but still good.

Considering purchasing the MASK or the Scout as it seems to fit the G73 nicely. Which other bags will keep my laptop more protected, will be in UK so preferably one with UK delivery. Will be travelling in airport a lot and hand luggage size is 55cm x 40cm x 20cm so will I have problems with this aswell?
    Cheers

Looks really nice- guessing that's your review up on the site. My only issue is that plastic zipper bit- hope it won't be an issue for you.

Just got back from a trip where I had to fly through to Detroit- ugh, hate that airport. Anyway, I had to throw my Slappa MASK bag in the overhead because I ended up in a seat w/o a seatback in the row in front of me. Fit right in no issues, and again I loved having this bag with me. Now that it's starting to break in a bit it doesn't stick out quite so much, but it still is a beast of a bag.

We were jumping on the plane kind of late due to various delays, and I had the backpack slung on my back and turned around to toss down my bag of food, and I ended up putting the bag in some guy's face, lol. I apologized, but the damn thing is just a bit too thick. Still stowed right under the seat without issue.

Alright, I'm picking up a g73jw pretty soon, and am going to haul this beast back and forth to college, along with 6 adobe textbooks. I need a bag that will fit this monster, as well as all those books at once. I don't feel like having to take books out and replace them every day for different classes, I just want a good bag that will fit all my books and this laptop, and that is all i care about. Each book is about standard letter size, and about an inch to 1.5 inches thick. Any suggestions? It has to hold the power brick, and the mouse as well. Thanks all you helpful peeps out there.

The standard bag Asus ships to you only fits 3-4 textbooks with the notebook+powerpack and mouse.

Hopefully maybe Slappa has a huge one or maybe Targus,

Looking to buy backpack for G73, mostly for travel, was trying to decide between the Targus XL and Everki Black Beacon.

While Targus is cheaper, I heard laptop slot for larger notebooks isn't padded, is this true? Which one would you guys recommend?

    Thanks

I've looked around, and have found different dimensions for the G73... Can someone measure their own lappy and post the actual dimensions (in inches) please? I just received my Brenthaven Metrolite Titanium backpack, and would like to see if it'd fit a G73. Brenthaven is clearancing them for $19, so with tax and shipping it came to ~$26 for me in Cali.

I will also be posting pix as soon as I get my camera from my gf's house, so hopefully by this weekend :) Thanks for your assistance. I know this will help everyone who's still looking for a backpack :)

This is the bag that came with my G73. Its gun metal gray with yellow accents, which is very different in coloring and form from the bag that is pictured at Amazon as coming with the G73. Does anyone know if this is the correct bag (I'm assuming it is given that it says ASUS on it) but I'm concerned now that I think about it because it doesn't seem to have many of the pockets that the pictured bag does. And other than the yellow accents the lack of organization is why I'm sticking with my Alienware messenger bag...

That is actually the Asus W90 backpack made for its 18.4" screen. It looks interesting. I wonder how much space it has over mine.

I have the G73JH-B1 which came with the mouse and backpack. It's decent, but very simple. Not many pockets...just enough for the laptop, ac adapter, and maybe a few extra cables. One thing that bugged me a little bit was that I noticed slight rubbing marks from inserting into the pocket after a handful of times.

Just updating. I got the G73SW-XR1 and have been looking into getting a working bag. I bought the Everki and didn't care much for it. It had a hard time holding anything else but my laptop. Because it's so wide, the zipper didn't want to allow too much more.

I then found that people had been recommending the Slappa KOA M.A.S.K. so I figured I'd give it a try. I received it today and absolutely love it. I have plenty room for all my components.

G73SW-XR1, mx518 mouse, Asus wireless usb headphones, 1TB My book External HD, 640 Seagate portable HD, all the cables, and even if I need to lug my old G50VT-x1.

I would recommend away from the Everki and highly recommend the Slappa.

    Best of luck guys!

Could you comment on the build quality of the Everki? I'm actually looking for a slimmer profile backpack, and was wondering if Everki is one that I should consider (if it's even slim, that is).

Hey everybody, I own an ASUS G73SW-A1 and I'm looking to purchase a backpack or a laptop case from Amazon (yes it must be from Amazon for personal reasons) that will fit the laptop perfectly and protect it. The thing is I wasn't satisfied with the ASUS backpack that came along with the laptop since it wasn't padded and thus doesn't provide much protection for the laptop. So could anyone who has a G73 and bought a case for it point me to a good case that I could buy from Amazon?

I boubt you'll want this, but here is what I use...

    18.4" Everki Commute Sleeve

It is very simple, 1/3-1/2" padding all around, and a large external pouch just big enough to fit the AC adapter and my gaming mouse. No bells and whistles and no real extra storage, just good protection in a simple package. I keep it inside my rolling suitcase or use it as a brief case on occasion. It works good for me.

Quick question : Which 'Slappa' bag/backpack best fits the G73, with the laptop sleeve being able to close?

Moving from Australia to the United States in September, and want to have a decent bag for my laptop. Needs to fit the laptop perfectly in the proper sleeve/compartment, and needs to be comfortable to carry for several hours, while lugging other baggage as well.

I'll probably use it as my carry-on luggage, so it needs to fit other items in there as well.

If you have a better brand then by all means let me know, i just heard that 'Slappa' was the best for laptop bags.
