How much you all want to bet that the G73jw with Nvidia will have perfect working vBios with perfect Powermizer downlclocking in 2D and 3D mode perfectly?
Wouldn't surprise me since Asus is traditionally an Nvidia company. The G73jh is the first notebook from Asus with a ATi GPU good enough for me to consider. -

So should i go wiwth the 10.8 or wait for the new vbios? Heard a lot of people are having the same GSOD problem with stock vbios and 10.8

Update -
Nothing new so far today on GSOD or the Missing Keystroke events, but I think we are getting close to a cure but more importantly an exact reason as to why they occur on some systems and not on others. I have been down several rabbit holes this week but thank you to those who have answered my questions, we greatly appreciate the help. -
-
Did you check why is MSI vBIOS working without GSOD? -
-
I'm like itching to get this thing at 100% I'm about to update to 209 as soon as I can find my flash card....

From Brian@ASUS:
"we are currently working on a beta vbios that has not had GSOD issues, should be out shortly either in beta or confirmed" -
-
Please post if you have gsod or not (yes or no) and your gpu number in this thread. number should be similar to 60-NY8VG1000-Cxx. just open the bottom lid (only two screws). Just want to see some more results.

my g73 has been hard locking all day, even at the windows login screen

thx trying it out now -
Rather than the comment 'we are working on a beta bios that has not had GSOD issues' I would like to hear something like: 'We found the reason behind the GSOD phenomenon (for example by closely examining the behaviour of MSI and Clevo vbioses) and made the simple fix that eradicates the problem (and should have been apparent from the release of the model)'.
Listening to Gary's comments it seems they still do not know the real reason behind the crashes
The beta vbios Brian mentioned might actually be the one we already have, it hasn't been officially released even as a beta yet... -

I don't wanna get anyone too excited, but I thought this might interest some of you.
Please don't ask me for more information, because I honestly don't have any. I am not beta testing anything for them and I am not under any kind of NDA from Asus. This is simply something I found interesting in a private email I received. So what I'm posting here is quite literally all I know.
I've been in touch with Gary himself for a while now, and he just turned me over to one of his co-workers who shall remain nameless.
His co-worker emailed me today (if you want me to be more specific, I got the email Sept 2nd around noon, eastern time), and one line in particular caught my eye:

Update -
1. New vBIOS coming next week
2. New Synaptic drivers coming in about a week -
-
Yay updates?
Did you ever pin down your power theory, or why it only seems to happen to some units? -
-
Even though SODs, that`s a respectable posture.
Thank you. -
edit - unless u mean two scrolling available with asus symaptics. -
-
Two finger scrolling enabled shouldn't be too much to expect in a premium product though (here's hoping
).

Thumbs up m8!

Finger crossed.

(Since they don't work on weekends)

Well, Gary has been on the forums for what, 3 weeks? That's not bad for 3 weeks of work.

Update-
vBIOS - If it passes qualification testing this morning, well it will be out late today. If not, next week. -
Gary,
Can you offer any insight as to what the new VBios addresses. I think this will set some of our minds at ease. Based on a comment about power settings in a previous post, many are concerned that your team may not have identified the exact issue. Knowing what the Vbios changes may quell some of this.....Nothing too deep, just a sentance or 2 -
Yeah, regardless I'd definitely like a changelog.

OMG NEW vbios im going to JIZZ XD
