Hey dondah do me a favor and run some Vantage marks on your machine for us when you get a chance . just the basic performance one at default . We have been using this score alot lately to really prove a systems power.because its not heavily influenced by the CPU at all.

Disable the second GPU in the device manager and again monitor your temps forget catalyst AI or anything else . Run crysis tell me if your temps move on the second card ? and again when you pulled the cable did your second card heat up or not ?.

If your running fraps it will crap out at the end so turn it off . and also just run the GPU tests and disable the CPU ones.

ok i didn't it was fraps the whole time. Lol. ok i will but i am going to disable the card in the device manger 1st for crysis. and then post and then run vantage.

edit: disabling my card caused my system to run at 800*600 and i couldn't set it to native. i heard that disabling AI will turn off the slave.

ok rerunning benchmark and i do not remember what my temps were when i pulled off the cable. if i find a screw driver i don't mind doing it again. i just don't want to pull out the gpu since i don't have thermal paste to reapply and i am alittle lazy.

ok wait...your telling me that crysis does not support dual ati crossfire 4870 cars on the asus w90 and it runs @ 30fps very high 1920 1200 res while the sager 9262 can get 50fps on high with that resolution and ur telling me the asus is better?

can anyone confirm this? does crysis support crossfire 4870 dual? what is the fps maxed out or high for 1920 x 1200 w90 asus if it does support on crossfire on actual gameplay compared to the sager 9262?

I'm going to order a w90 from xotic pc, but my only dilemma is the processor, I really like that qx9300, but the price keeps eating away at me. I keep telling my self to go with the q9000. Whats the consensus around here, is the qx worth its price???

The QX9300 is certainly not worth the price for most consumers. The Q9000 is plenty for now, and with a bit of overclocking, you can even surpass the clock frequencies of the QX9300.

If you still feel inclined to getting the QX9300, I'd suggest purchasing one a ES QX9300 from ebay for $399

Heya, well 1st of all I dont post much but have been soaking up all the info here, great stuff, have owned my Asus W90VP-A1 for about 2 weeks, got it from xotic.

Couple questions...where can I get a second power supply for this beast, I lug it to my office every day and home at night, and well, just would be nice to leave a power supply at each place. Second, I have the OC'ng guide with the new setfsb, wondering, if I bump this thing to say 2.5 or so..how much risk am I takeing of damaging the cpu ?

Thanks all, and even though I dont have much rep to spread, its all much appreciated.

Crysis is working with crossfire, when I did a single card run scores were lower, however it definitly does not scale as well as Nvidia SLI on that game, but its a Nvidia optimized game so what do you expect?

Crysis is pretty much the only game this laptop does not do so well in, if you plan the entire future of your gaming career to be playing the same 6 hour game through over and over again, then maybe it should be a big factor in determining what laptop to buy, otherwise back up some and look at the big picture and other game benchmarks aswell.

Oh man this one had me rolling hard . The game is awesome at highsettings and no one in there right mind looking to the play the game all the way through is going to be playing @veryhigh thru the whole of the campaign because there are parts of the game where it will bring any laptop to a crawl.

exactly why i say bench crysis in high mode. this is a good starting ground for that game. benching very high is to show it can run it. magnus seemed to be one of the best tweakers of that game. have you getting like 30 plus frames on a dell d600 or something...lol

Maybe somebody should bench crysis with the CCC pack installed, I never used it but its supposed to raise FPS a good amount while retaining (or even gaining) visual quality.

    Think about this:
In three years netbooks will be playing Crysis at 40fps on all high. I remember changing my GPU on my desktop for NFS3. This is a never ending story but I am glad you guys are making everybody to want one of these powerful machines. That is how you sell a laptop to the same customer once a year.

Uninstall your turbo gear vga driver from the add remove programs then just reinstall it if you want . it has no real value to the performance but some may want it there for peace of mind or what have you. I did not have 3 instances of the EIO driver like you did i only had 2 .

nope. not i. my laptop is still a conder at this point. but what im missing or lacking rather is cpu/fsb over clocking. so thats what was grabbing my attention. and these new systems coming out have that, where as mine doesn't.
