I just got off the phone with ASUS tech support and my laptop is ready for RMA. They told me that since my speaker was dead, I can report it as a Dead On Arrival Replacement. I got the same info... I have to fax my invoice to 510-797-2614 with my laptop SN on the invoice... anyone noticed that the SN is not on the newegg invoice? I spoke with the tech support representative and he mentioned that my serial number does not even exist in their system! Well now I am waiting for FEDEX to send me the packing material.. the wait continues :D.

only one will fit. you won't be able to fit the 2nd card in because 1) the HE connector will be blocked by the GPU fan and 2) the W90's crossfire cable is too short.

I'd take the replacement. Seems the seller had to know it had issues when it locked upon boot up, and with the BIOS issues, it is worth it to take the 5-10 days for a replacement versus deal with the issues.

I understand people being upset about shipping time but do you really expect a company to pay overnight? I just shipped my g50v to somebody the 5 day ground for ups was like $40 just to go to 3 day it was like 2x more, for overnight your talking like $200.

I would just be happy that they are paying the shipping and bide my time.

My M17 is at work so I can't do it tonight anyways.

I really want to make sure there's nothing wrong with this laptop before I start removing the cards. They need AS!

So with 17% OC on the cpu the review scores are doable on the 5020 bios.

If it's a hardware issue.. yeah.. i'll take a replacement. I'm really starting to think it's not. Not with mine anyways.

Software bugs are easy to SQUASH!

That's some seriously nice warranty. Other companies should learn a thing or two (looks at you Apple). Don't worry I currently own a macbook pro unibody which I plan on replacing with this asus w90. Raw power ftw! Although I will miss my 6-7 hour battery life and LED screen.

yeah, I'm in Australia. More specifically Perth. That's why I had to cancel my order with Xoticpc since this company is based here. Easier to claim warranty and all that. hehe.

No but that would only solve half the problem, while PS will run on the EEE I do not think it would run that fast.

When I pack the EEE I purposely travel light just the unit & power brick. No mouse, no cable for external monitor, ect. So I am limited if I want to do advanced stuff like that.

Actually did some Sonic Adventure 2 a couple of weeks ago :p

But the best dreamcast games for it that I like are the shooting games: Ikaruga, GigaWing 2, Gunbird 2 and the fighting games like Dead or Alive 2, Capcom vs SNK2, ect.

I used to love Sonic so much, but I never got the pleasure of using a Dreamcast. I always thought Sonic Adventure must be the greatest game ever, but I ended up getting an N64, which I liked pretty well.

I have all 3 of the Wii sonic games also.

Sonic Secret of the Rings (pretty much sucks)

Sonic Unleashed (Mostly good, great "day" stages

Sonic and the Black Knight (just got it only played a few levels seems ok)

All the Genesis games were great and yes both of the dreamcast adventure games are must play games takes sonic to a new level.

hmmm i just lost 12 hours of my life playing with my w90 :(
sooooo worth it! not a single freeze/lockup under vista 32, vista 64, xp 32, xp 64.

now if i could just solve this weird mouse lag problem under vista's....
    its not:
    1.ty mouse
    2. broken mouse
    3. bad mouse
    4. bad driver
    5. driver problem
    6. no its not going through a hub
    7. yes the hz is set to 1000hz
7b. and yes i tried different hz

ive pretty much tried everything relating to drivers, settings that i know of, different usb port, v-sync on/off/double/tripple and every combo there of

its weird, my last w90 didnt have a problem with mouse lag.

and do note, the same mouse, same usb port, same game, works FINE under xp (both 64/32)
and yes i tried uninstalling ALL mouse related software, disabling touchpad etc

anyboyd got any other ideas? *waits for its your mouse because somebody wont read that it works fine under xp on the same computer same port*

The last we heard is they were expected hit ASUS late afternoon yesterday after their shipping cut off :( We already have a email into our rep confirming shipment to us today. :) We will post back once we have the confirmation.

We requested a unit to be sent to us overnight for testing/review.

Since overnight is both what they advertise and what I was told on the phone several times, yes, I certainly expected it.

Even if it wasn't their advertised policy, given the circumstances, it would have helped ease the distaste of the situation. ASUS's warranty is a good one, but their execution of the same, in my case, failed.

Someone at ASUS should have been more active in overseeing and ensuring that those of us who were the first to purchase and subsequently had to RMA our units were/are satisfied in the end. This being with both the unit and how our issues were handled. One call or email from an ASUS employee would have made all the difference for me. I also never received the promised email that the new unit was being shipped.

As it stands now, even though I have a new unit coming, I will have little confidence in both the product or how I am valued as a consumer. The worst being the former as it will be a long road before I can just enjoy the machine without the little voice in the back of my head saying "what was that?" "is that normal?" You get the picture.

Hopefully the new machine's awesomeness will overshadow my doubts and then I can finally correct my signature.

Just an update. I threw in the towel and returned mine to newegg : ( Talked to the guy there, explained to him the situation and how I was hoping to get a refund and not an exchange(cuz at the time I felt the new ones would have the problem too). He said he couldn't but if it failed again they would refund with no 15% restocking fee. They received it and without a word, changed it from replacement to refund(which i thought was great!). Its been a week or so since i last went through this forum so hopefully this hasn't been said already. Just something for those who are thinking about it. I hope everyone is doing well with theres tho cuz I do feel a bit empty inside without it(for the times it did work). I'm a failure, I know but i did get my money back lol : \
