Looking at Justin review, the bench doesn't look quite promising for Q9000. Also, the code p7350, suspecting the core of processor using a Core2Duo of p7350 with two of them chipped together (I suppose it is called Core2Quad, not a truly Quad Core
) But still waiting for the bench in overclock mode...

don, that's a QX/OCZ issue. Change vistas power scheme to balanced or leave it in performance mode and change minimum CPU useage to 30-40% and max at 100.. Also make sure powerplay is set to high in CCC. This would also be a good idea for Asus users. I'm sure you've seen the AW threads..anyhow lemme know if this helps.

Over the simple fact that the new machine that I received from ASUS to replace my original one has been working flawlessly and meeting my expectations from when I first decided to buy. The sarcastic signature was left there as I really wasn't sure of the purchase due to the sheer amount of problems I had.
I still feel as if I and others were not treated properly by some of the CSR's and techs, but the product is super sweet. -

Got my w90 back and all is well. No problems yet, all games run fine.
I tested Far Cry 2 and got the following results.
With max cpu overclock, and max graphic card overclock (600/900)
1920x1080
All settings maxed in dx10. No AA
Ranch Long test
Avg. 43.88 fps
Max 74.3 fps
Min. 26.91
graphics temps were 64 and 56 C by the end of the test. no extra cooling was used for the test, just the w90 on a desk.Attached Files:

good to hear that bro^^

Has Newegg announced anything about a new shipment coming in? At this rate I might as well wait until summer to get mine. Also, has anyone been able to go over the 15k mark on 3dmark06? I know there was one of the asus guys but highest i've seen in this thread was 14kish .. most around 10k-13k.

avg. 47 fps
how could it go up with aa?!
i'll run the other tests, since the long run has a lot of open spaces.
also, there seems to be noticeable microstuttering in benchmarks, but not in the game itself, is this normal?Attached Files:

It looks like one card numbers to me . here are faisalhero's numbers and we know those are single card runs. Granted his are not 1920x1080 but they seem more inline with a single card.

yeah, but that is dx9 and not dx10
also that seems to be the thing with ati. you start adding AA and they all of sudden start getting better. -

For Far Cry 2, DX10 numbers are usually higher than the DX9 numbers at the same settings.
-
-
haha
But even in DX10, I remember the GT725s getting around 33 fps at ultra high. However, if the settings are maxxed on the W90, then it's scoring lower than 3870s in crossfire with the updated drivers. So it could be 1 gpu working, or bad/poor crossfire support for 4800 series GPUs. -
I'm fairly confident both cards are working. Catalyst shows both cards working normally and the performance is impressive at maxed settings. Besides, that second card gets pretty toasty, so it's definitely doing something. BTW, does anyone know what range of temperatures is acceptable for these cards under load? I wonder, because the cards in this replacement unit are running about 6 C hotter than the last w90, which seems like a big jump for what is the same hardware.

they probably switch your 4870 cards with 4850 cards and overclocked them to look like 4870 cards. -
Newegg sucks, been chekin all day long, nothing so far. MSI gt725 is more and more attractive, Justin when are we gonna have a look at a new p5797 with 280m??? Got 2 weeks left
-
Another way to test is to disable crossfire under the crossfireX tab in catalyst. If you are getting the same results with it disabled, then we'll know what's going on. -

here is my old farcry2 benchmark with my t9400
http://i41.tinypic.com/5bea2u.jpg you can compare it to yours. everything stocked. -

bill.. Lemme preface what I'm about to say. I'm a condescending a$$ sometimes. I can be cocky on occassion. Also, I am not one to bite my tongue to spare feelings or save face. With that said..
Why do you continue to compare these to desktops? Ever seen anyone else do so? Does anyone really care how these cards compare to a desktop? It's not a desktop. These aren't desktop 4800s. It doesnt really matter what a desktop does, compared to this system. It doesn't matter what naming schemes are used, what temps are acceptable, which screen size is optimized for the setup, and really.. There shouldn't be a Single comparison drawn between this system and a desktop with hardware sharing a similar name. People don't buy a Lexus and claim they just have an expensive toyota. They buy a toyota and say they have a cheap lexus. My point being, you're an intelligent dude.. You are even a cool dude.. And I know you have the best intentions, but PLEASE stop drawing comparisons between a lexus and toyota, or a desktop high-power card with liquid cooling and an ambient forced air induction notebook. Stop comparing the two all together. It serves no purpose. None. If someone wanted a desktop with ATI cards, they'd probably be visiting http://desktopreview.com - and now that I'm as much of an a$$ as most people probably think you can be, but don't say anything.. Please feel free to drop the comparisons, unless you intend to compare me to something that isn't relevant - such as a nice guy. -

Graphics cards. Srs bsns.

I've gone around in circles in this thread on why RV770 and thus desktop GPUs are relevant, but there is only 1, maybe a handful of people who understand the point I'm making.
It's not worth arguing over, so complain all you want, my info does pertain to this thread. If you want to keep complaining about all my posts that's certainly your right, but you're not going to drag me into a silly internet battle. -
no battle man. I don't have the time. Just asking that you recognize what is, and what is not relevant. Then, based off your educated conclusion.. decide what is worth posting and what is not worth posting when drawing comparisons. Fried catfish isn't sushi..
-
RV770 is RV770.
It's very simple. -
Mobile chips are desktop chips. Why deny yourself the understanding of this?
It's altered in whatever way necessary to fit it into the mobile specs, but they aren't dropping millions to R&D brand new fabrications just for us. -
well... 95°C are 95°C, doesnt matter if meassured on a laptop or on a desktop. and if the rv770 can take 95°C it doesnt matter if the chip is pluged in on a notebook-card or on a dektop-card, as the chips come from the same wafer.
needles to say, that you cannot compare the cooling systems of desktop or nb-cards, but that was not the point in this discussion...
just my 0,02€ -
Specifically in ATi's case, their mobile chips are directly derived from their desktop chips with a few exception. The M98 is directly derived from the RV770 and the M88 (Mobility 3800 series) is directly derived from the RV670. -
What are the chances that future drivers can be modded for these cards? I don't want to be stuck at 8.551 and it seems Asus will not be making new drivers considering these issues were fixed with a bios update. -
y not give this ones a try
-
bad idea.. evidentally there's an issue with them. For whatever reason they won't install properly. Gives error 43 I believe, similar to the issues reported widely about most drivers after 8.12 when it comes to 4k series in crossfire.
