Lol wish i could my friend but i have my work cut out for me until i get an understanding of how these ATI drivers work. To many years of Nvidia so this is going to take some getting used to . But so far the machine is very nice, its built like a brick **** house
Overclocked to 17% and got a 15324 3d mark
nothing special yet but its a start . Most of all no dead pixels that i can see or find /happy dance . -
But yeah a 2nd stand could be needed and maybe some cross braces too -
BTW, Here's a few pic's of my setup
-
Jamiee thats a biga** screen you got there!!
Looks awesome. I can imagine running games like that, must be nice
-
Does anybody have a direct benchmark comparsion in crysis between the ASUS W90Vp-X1 vs the W90vp-A1
-
-
-
Yeah Mine does 17% too.
(Which apparently seems stable now after disabling SpeedStep in the BIOS) -
At some point I'll have to try hooking up the W90 to it.
I just installed Synergy the other day so now I only need to use one mouse and keyboard across both computers. Excellent bit of software IMO! -
oh that is awesome 40"screen! Is it 1080p? Does performance of a game decreases drastically on that screen?
-
-
So long as your PC can handle 1920x1080 res. Gaming shouldn't be a problem.
I certainly have no slow-downs gaming on it -
Lol ya it would and it would be even crazier if he never bothered to check his CPU speed in any of the applications he ran . Stranger things have happpened .
-
-
maybe he didnt notice those either -
I want ONE!!!! WHen????
-
Sorry
I broke down
-
-
-
I don't want a quad.... I've been chasing X1 for 3 weeks now
-
Maybe after looking, he's too embarrassed to post...
...did we guess it?!
:rofl
Asus April Fooled him? -
Like others out there I am going nuts waiting.
In the meantime I am looking for a decent HDTV/Cable compatible tuner for it. Currently I am leaning towards the AVerTV Volar Max, but I have never had one before so I am flying blind. Any suggestions? -

When I left it enabled I had some crashes with monitoring applications, I can't remember which ones. With it turned off, I'm stable. Glad yours is solid but I know it didn't work completely on mine and there are other tales around the internet of similar situations.
-
all comes down to what other software one runs on his or her's computer...
-
Anyone have a screenshot of this 1080p Very High Crysis run that shows 30fps? The one on Xotic's forum only shows 21fps, but I've seen a 30fps run referenced in several topics.
-
yeah, it was ran at half gamer and half mainstream

However keep in mind Crysis varies greatly depending on the stage your on and what is happening around you. If I remember correctly the snow stage was the lowest fps and almost nobody will bench it since its later in the game.
The best thing to do is run the benchmark and loop it 3+ times and take the average. Then post the low, avg, high numbers.
I'll do this for sure but probably somebody will beat me too it. -
i just addressed that vicious... in the review thread.

everybody knows about the origianl crysis benchmark tool, I should mention there is one for warhead out also but it seems to be less known.
-
the .24 to .32 benchmarking tool is garbage
-
here is the link to dual 4870s with heat sink off. the one where no one wanted to take the paste off.

nice i'll check it out. though I plan to bench the first crysis not warhead since thats the one I own, also its supposed to be less optimized so should give us a worst case situation.
I played through warhead and did not like it as much as the first one. -
man, any thing you bench, post, examine or run though is more than welcomed with open arms!
oh, and quadzilla will be putting it through the paces as well. -

i'll have every game I used in the g50v review and that was like 10 or so games + a few others possibly.

3dmark06
3dmark08
geekbench
hdtune
vista wei - lol i know
it will be broken down into 4 or 5 games + apps pure stock drivers & settings.
Then everything will be optimized with overclock & drivers (if I manage to change the drivers) and done again so you can see the gains.
Thats the plan for the basic review, then I will probably revisit with Windows 7 results to see if they are higher/lower for 4 - 5 games again + apps.
Add the usual massive photo shoot and write up that could pass for a college essay and call it a day (or more literally a week or two) -
the hard core benching begins...lol -
Sounds good. Can't wait for your reviews. Probably ditch my G50VT-A1 for this W90Vp by xmas. Looks like a BEAST!!! -
Guys can someone pm Justin and ask him when p5797 will be coming? please.
-
how come you can't pm him?
-
I figured he'd give me a generic answer, and maybe since he knows you he would give you an honest answer.

Ok, so if I can get the NewEgg model (A1 I believe) actually ordered I will be happy. Can someone take a photo of this think next to something for reference lol, like another laptop or hell even next to your iPhone. I am just curious about size is all. I have found the second HDD i want (7200 RPM 500GB Seagate) and I cant find any bluray players from places I am comfortable purchasing from online (tigerdirect, newegg etc) anyone have any ideas of where I can pick one up from? Congrats on getting your machines guys, looking forward to getting mine in the future (cmon NewEgg, get them in stock already!!)
