    Ziddy,

I know you're busy enjoying your new girlfriend, but when you get a chance can you try a new GPU overclock to humor me?

Drop you memory overclock down by 50-100 and see if you can get your core up by another 50+...

    Thanks!

    Chris

It might be able to be modified to work, but it's not identical. For what it's worth, the model number on the one in my X1 is 13GNY810M12X-1

Yeah, doesn't work for me. I tried 850/900 and within 1 minute of starting FEAR 2, it grayed screened and froze. For now 799/1099 seems the limit for me.

Oh! I didn't know you had gotten to 799 on the core; good job. I bet you could get to 825ish if you dropped your mem down even further. Maybe 825/1040 or something. Thanks for the info!

Yeah I've been playing at 799/1050 or 799/1099 all week, it's stable in Crysis, Mass Effect 2, FEAR 2 and Killing Floor so far. Haven't tried WoW as I'm too wussy to renew my account (I think I'm done with mmos).

Good man. Stay away, they are like digital crack. Actually, more like digital crystal meth. With both, you run the risk of losing all your teeth and self-respect.

    Agreed.

I was the guild leader of a pretty big raiding guild on Proudmoore about 4 yrs ago. If you think playing WoW alone is bad, consider being a guild leader in WoW.... makes it twice as bad. Dealing with politics, soothing egos, drama-> just not worth it.

I quitted WoW 2 yrs ago and I think it's one of the best decisions.

I've had limited playing with OCing. Tried it with my 7900GS and started getting artifacts on the screen and chickened out. Are you guys kinda blahsay about greyscreening, artifacts, freezing that you just keep going? How much permanent damage can be done?

I guess there's threads dealing with all this. I just want a nut shell answer

I'm totally new to this forum and laptops in general. I just got my X-1 today and in my Win 7 I noticed it recognizes only 4 gigs of RAM. It's 64 bit Win 7. Is this right? How can i fix it if it's wrong?

I work with a guy who was the guildleader of our clan, so I know all about it. Managing that many fragile ego's and personalities is more daunting than dealing with the trolls and snipers on this forum. And that's saying a lot. I played and got sucked in for about 6 months 2 years ago. 6 months of my life I will never get back.

Some friends tried to talk me into Age Of Conan and the new WoW expansions, but I told them that my new life was non-refundable and that they should look into buying one.

Download AMD GPU Clock Tool. It is free, and it could not be easier. You literally type over the stock clock values, and that's it. Your clocks go back to stock at every reboot.

I'm with you on the MMO's, but there are some single player rpg's that are fantastic. Baldur's gate brings a nostalgic tear to my eye. Elder Scrolls 3 and 4. Dragon Age. I love em', just don't have time to play em'!

We sacked a guy at our work for being a guild leader. He considered getting in at 11am after all night raids was an acceptable part of his job. The bosses thought otherwise.

I remember the good ole Pool of Radiance :) Came out in 1988?

Diablo 3 is what I am looking forward to ....and maybe some Japanese romance / anime RPG.

Talking about games, I suggest you guys try out "Fate/Stay Night" visual novel game. If you don't know what it is, google :) VN has some of the best games around.

haha, as for getting late to work being a guild leader... hehe, I avoided that, but just. Very sleepy during work lol

Oh, wow. I didn't know we were hopping into our "way back" machines!

My first rpg was pools of radiance and curse of the azure bonds on the Commodore 64. Then all of the goldboxes that followed on my first 386.

Ultima, Eye of the beholder. Oh my, I am getting sentimental.

Hey guys, new to the forum! About to buy an Asus G73JH-A2 and I was wondering if anyone has heard if XoticPC was shipping any yet? They seem to have the best deal and I have had great experiences from them in the past! Would hate to wait a month to get my hands on this one!

    Cool there's a few of us - I don't feel so bad.

I also got a new 1080p TV to go with the G73 (and to watch TV on) so I want the blu-ray! Sure I could put one in myself, but it's all paid for, and maybe we'll get a bonus feature that the others will miss out on.

I keep telling myself at least I'm not losing productivity playing with a new machine, but I can't look away from these damn threads, no matter how irrelevant they are, so that aint workin lol

I've been playing RPG's since the Commodore as well. Still attend a Pen and Paper AD&D Group that meets on the weekends. REALLY looking forward to Dragon Age

Loved the entire Ultima Series, Neverwinter Nights, and Baldur's Gate. I am looking into Guild Wars... However I have never played a MMO before

Sounds good to me. lets give it to the 17th and if and when the bad news does happen that we are waiting till mid-march we can start our own group. Doesnt make any sense that after a 6 weeks asus doesnt have any bluray drives to put in G73's to send out to at least take care of the first preorders

Just wanted to give everyone an update on the A1s that might be a bit relevant.

PC Canada has the "rest" of it's shipment on backorder expecting them on March 4th in Ontario, Canada.

However, when I called, the guy told me that 50 came in last week and went out to their rightful owners and that the 250 they are expecting are an "additional" 250. I asked to make sure they were definitely A1s and he said, "The ones with the BluRay right? Yep - that's them..." So, he obviously knows what he is talking about.

So - the moral of the story...

A1s are out there - they DO exist.
