Have you tried the newest driver to verify?
    Download
Additionally, can you post the picture of the audio connector?

My first unit's touchpad is protruding in the upper left hand corner. The replacement that I received has a gap same as yours but no dent. So far the touchpad is working, it's just visually not pleasing to see such things. I'm tired of waiting for a replacement. My two problems right now are the audio jack and "Q" key that is loosed. Now they don't want to replace the whole unit and wants me to go to the service center. I'm getting sick of this.

Sorry, we don't have this item in stock so I couldn't verify it on my end.
Have you checked with ASUS about this?

I just got my UX32LN and seem to have the same problem. Did you find any solution? Right now I'm debating whether to send this back and be without my new shiny laptop for weeks or whether to just accept the situation as I barely used headphones with my previous laptop. I'm also thinking to try finding an audio to USB adapter and sticking the headphones to USB port.

I've had the issue with UX303LN, which I presume has the same sound card as most of the specs are the same.

I sent one back because after 3 days it stopped recognizing the audio jack altogether.

My new one has had some occurrences of randomly switching to internal speakers, perhaps 5 times or so, but they always get fixed when you plug it in and out - so far.

I'd be glad to know if you can find a solution.

They're asking me to bring it to the service center which will take them 7 days to "try" to fix the issue.

No solution yet. Even other reviewers of the laptop experienced the same issue but they really didn't focus on it.

After receiving two defect units with two different problems, the first being a defect touchpad and the second a faulty headphone jack, I decided to cancel the purchase and demand my money back. It wasn't the easiest thing to do as they wanted to replace the second laptop with a third because they told me that they basically just "can't" cancel the purchase. Canceling a purchase seems to be the last option they want to give a customer, especially when it comes to laptops. After some bargaining I finally managed to cancel the purchase and receive my money back.

You must have get it wrong. Perhaps you incorporated drivers to the wrong image inside the .wim file. I have put drivers to all images there and it works.
But if it is too difficult, then try my method, I pointed out before... :)
    I feel your pain.

    Hello,

I've been following the conversation for a few months now and it has really helped me a lot. so, first of all: THANK YOU!

    Nevertheless, I have two questions.
I bought this laptop in Germany and I am now studying in the US, so my charger is different to the one here. Does anyone know which one I should get to use it with an American plug? I'm kinda upset with using an adapter.

My second question is regarding the Laptop itself. Every once in a while the computer freezes. No mouse is working, nor any keys. Except the power key. After having it shutdown to save energy or whatever it goes to after having pushed the power button, I can push it again and it will take me there where I left off. It's very annoying. Anyone else has experienced (and solved?!) this problem yet?

    Best regards,
    Rob

Your laptop is hibernating. This happens when the laptop is overheating. Are you using it in any situation where the computer is under high load and the ability to vent heat is compromised?

mhm I don't recall what I did the other day, but I don't think it was anything high load-related. However, I did play FIFA15 last week and it happened twice there in a short interval. What would you suggest doing? I also use Notebook Fan Control.

Thank you very much for your response!

    Hi everyone,

I am sorry if my question is already answered somewhere in this thread but I dont have time to go through it now as I ended on pg 24 few week ago... :-D

Does anybody know about some alternative and better touchpad drivers / software to use instead of the Asus Smart Gestures? I am using Firefox and it is impossible to get the left /right swipe gesture working to be able to go backwards and forwards with a three-finger swipe. Or do you have any tips?

Thanks a lot for any help!

    Hi AndreW,
Strangely for me the three-finger swipe gesture works fine. However, some user on another forum reported this problem and also posted his solution.

Did you have the lid shut? Turn off notebook fan control, it may have malfunctioned and stopped the fans from running. I played a lot of games with the stock fans without problem, and they work better than manual software.

I got the Asus UX32LN-R4086H model with i7-4510U / 8GB RAM / 128GB SSD after doing a laptoplottery for months.

I replaced the SSD with a 9.5mm HDD and it was tight fit. Some improvising had to be done to get enough screw attached around it to hold it steady, but i got it done with 2 original screws and 2 staples hold by tape.
I replaced the soft foam cushions with some tape and thin plastisc sheet. The hard drive doesnt lay in a natural position because of the low height of the SATA port. Now there is a very small bend on the keyboard, but i think everything will normalize after i reinstall the SSD again when im ready to sell this one day.
Right now i prefer that 2TB more then the speed.

I was hoping to find a 1080P version of the UX303LN so i could also have an SSD in it, but it seems to be vaporware.
Hopefully the next version comes with more bandwith for the GPU. Geforce 940M or 950M. 840M seems pretty limited because of it.

Some lightbleed occurs, otherwise the screen looks amazing. I need to calibrate it someday to get the best out of it.

Source Engine games are much more CPU-intensive than GPU. It's just the way they're coded.

My UX32LN suddenly shut off today ( i went smoking, when i came back it was shut down ). Now it won't start again. The Power LED turns on for a short moment (1-2 seconds) and then it turns off, nothing happens. It was connected to power supply.

    Any ideas ?

    There is 2 settings:

    Hi everybody :hi2:,

I write to this forum as I am facing an issue with the HDMI.

When I connect the HDMI to the laptop, the audio output won't go to the connected screen and is showing that the HDMI is not plugged in whereas the screen is showing correctly.

The irony is that the screen is a ASUS MX239h, working out of the box with my N43SL.

Also I have already tried the fix provided below which did not work for me:

Solved Audio Over HDMI Cable Not Working - HDMI Cable Not Plugged - Page 2

Do you face the same issue? if yes, how did you fixed it?

    Thanks a lot!

I have my first problem with my UX32LN today. It won't charge the battery, when plugged in windows says "Plugged In, Not Charging". The LED flashes orange. When it is turned off, it flashes oranges slower, but also doesn't charge.

I will try disconnecting the battery, firing it up on AC and shutting down, and then reconnecting the battery.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Update: It's charging again after reconnecting, everything back to normal :)

The exact sequence was like this: I had the laptop charged, then unplugged it. Something weird happened and the fans were running at full speed although there was no load and the laptop was very cool, so I rebooted and worked on battery for some hours. I connected the AC at 30% but it didn't charge as described.
