    OK,

Now let's talk about my red lines and 3DMark crash.
As usual, I used to use Windows 10 Ghost Specte 21H1.
I think it was the problem...

I installed 21H1 from Microsoft site, cleaned it with Sophia Script.
Then I manually disabled HPET and Telemetry.

Same office temperature, same OC settings, fans 100%, and no more issues :

    Even best score :)

Have you experienced any of your games crashing when you play them with the GPU Base Clock Offset set to 200 MHz in Armoury Crate?

I though that it was a HW problem, not SW.

    Hello,
I use max CPU/GPU settings for bench purpose only.
But yesterday I played 40 minutes Cyberpunk 2077 with CPU +100MHz, GPU mem +150MHz, and CPU at max, CPU Fans and GPU Fans always at max with no issues.
But you have to remember that my office is climatized (21.5-22°C)

After reading through the entire thread, as well as the other G533QS thread on here in attempts to make my system run better, I pulled the trigger on the Kingston (32gb, 3200, CL20) ram that has been recommended here and elsewhere. I noticed a very small improvement from doing so, but I'm still not at all satisfied with this laptop. I just made a backup my my vBIOS and flashed the GE76 vBIOS that has been linked in this thread numerous times. Now as soon as I load up any game, framerates are all over the place, there's a ton of input lag, and the system is just all around worse than before. I reverted to my backup and the issue still persists, even after going back and forth between the different vBIOS' multiple times and restarting each time and using DDU to wipe and then install a fresh copy of the drivers. I've even given a backup of someone else's vBIOS for these laptops from TechPowerUp a try with no luck. What am I doing wrong here? The system is definitely accepting the flashes, so I'm not sure why it's behaving like this.

Edit: For some reason, both version 321 and 320 of the system BIOS were giving me this issue. Downgraded to 319 and it appears to be back to normal, even on the GE76 vBIOS. Hopefully it stays like this.

Why do people goes with "all-mighty moded" Windows shady editions?
It always causes troubles on some ends with updates, xbox game pass, .net framework installations or android emulators
I have seen sooooooo many comparisons between weird Windows aka Gaming Edition vs stock one and the "superb light one" was better in some benchmarks by ~3-5% but real in-game difference was close to 0 or some things were broken on modded OS when on clean one there was no issues.
I do understand people want privacy and debloated systems but these super-light windows editions are ... harmful

Hmm... another post that keeps me away from flashing MSI vBIOS :)

It's not necessarily an issue with the MSI vBIOS, it was an issue with the newest versions of the system BIOS from ASUS. Once I rolled back to version 319 the issues went away, on both the MSI GE76 and the original vBIOS.

    Hello all,
This WAS the good old times...
Now, I just can't pass Time Spy with the GPU at full settings. Time Spy crashes either at the end of the first gpu test, either always at the same moment in the second gpu test :'(

The issue is hardware I think. Something's f*cked up :(

Even now with lower office temp (20-21°C).

    My settings were :
Base Clock Offset : +200 MHz
Memory Clock Offset : +300 MHz
    CPU full settings
Both GPU and CPU fans always 100%
    Office temp never >22°C
    MSI 125W+5W VBIOS

Replacing Ghost Spectre install with stock Windows 10 doesn't change anything.

Now, I have to set GPU +175MHz max and GPU memory +250MHz max to pass Time Spy.

    I'd like your help gurus....

    Thanks...

    OK !!! :D

Tried multiple things at the same time :
-I've unplugged the laptop power supply from my good 21 years old EATON 1200W pure sinus PSU and plugged it back directly.
-I've flashed back my stock VBIOS.
-Armoury Crate, everything set to max (both CPU and GPU), of course 100% fans speed.
-Time Spy Extreme Stress Test => passed all right.

    Then
Flashed 155W MSI VBIOS, uninstalled NVidia drivers with DDU, reinstalled them. Disabled Dynamic Boost.
Ran Time Spy 5 times with GPU@1450MHz (instead of 1385MHz max with 125W+5W), and GPU mem around 7000MHz IIRC : all right !

Flashed back the MSI 125W+5W. Issues are gone away. Dunno what happended... I don't change settings now that it's fine again :

guys, i have one quick question. with the last bios 321 it seems that CPU temps are a bit higher with the 155W and also GPU goes up by a degree or two. i installed the 313 bios and is working fine no temps issue, but when i reboot the laptop it starts to autoupdate the bios to the last version. how do i stop the bios autoupdate?

So now as of BIOS version 323 the stuttering issue has returned. I went back to my original vBIOS backup for some testing, but even with that I still have stuttering issues. Oddly though, my BIOS version is different than what others have reported. Mine is showing as 94.04.3E.00.9D. Can anyone else who has a G533QS that came with the 16GB RTX 3080 and 32GB of Samsung RAM please upload their backup of the original vBIOS. I'd like to compare and test.

Edit: Okay, now I've got some more confusing info and some background info to add. On BIOS version 319, before I ever flashed anything, I had occasional stuttering issues, both on the internal display and on an external display using a USB Type C to HDMI adapter. Disabling fullscreen optimizations globally (I wrote a simple script to enable and disable via a compat layer environment variable) fixed that issue. I decided to check out the GE76 vBIOS after I had purchased and installed the Kingston 32GB/3200/CL20 RAM (My G533QS came with 32GB of Samsung RAM, but I upgraded because I wanted to get the absolute best performance possible). After the first time I flashed the GE76 vBIOS, I began to have issues. No matter which ASUS 3080 Mobile vBIOS I tried (Including my own backup), I was having really bad stuttering issues. One thing I noted was that each time I flashed a different vBIOS, regardless of which one it was, GPU-Z was showing that Vulkan was disabled. I'm not sure if it was just a coincidence, but there was one time where I flashed the GE76 vBIOS and it was showing Vulkan as enabled, and I had no performance issues or stuttering at all. When my system updated itself to 320, the stuttering returned no matter what I did and which vBIOS I tried and the issues continued with 321 and 323. I also could never get Vulkan to show up as being enabled again. I began to grow frustrated with the laptop and contemplated flashing it back to the original vBIOS and selling it or sending it in for RMA, but I decided to try one last thing that I had not yet, and I flashed the GE66 vBIOS. Now, everything is magically working again, and I've even gone so far as to re-enable fullscreen optimizations using my script. Zero performance issues, but for some reason Vulkan still shows up in GPU-Z as being disabled. Not sure why all of this happened the way that it did, but if I could recommend anything to anyone new reading this thread, it would be to make multiple backups of your original vBIOS (Maybe 2 with nvflash and 2 with GPU-Z just to be safe), and then try the GE66 vBIOS before the others.

Purchasing the Hyper X CL20 Kingston RAM is not worth it. You would probably see a increase of 2 FPS in games.

I am using bios version 323 and the GE76 155W vbios and I have not experienced any issues. Vulkan is also enabled on my G533QS laptop:

15" G533QS with 323 BIOS, MSI VBIOS. No issues at all. Gave D Day Windows 11 a try : 12907 Time Spy. Gonna wait a little bit for all needed tools to be available for this OS.

I also have a 155w bios and vulkan is not available, I managed to solve the problem, but I'm not entirely satisfied. If I download the drivers for the graphics card from the manufacturer's website - Asus, vulkan is available, the problem is that the drivers are dated May 2021. If the drivers are downloaded from nvidia, unfortunately vulkan is not available. Performance in red dead redemption without vulkan is much worse :( dx12 is not that efficient :(

Can anyone kindly post how to downgrade bios drivers? I am also on ge76 vbios and noticed temps increasing to 85/95 gpu/cpu in cyberpunk when it was at 80/90 beforehand. Also noticed more crashing and stuttering on v323. I want to go back to v313. Thanks!

I would ideally like both the 313 and 315 and see which one gives me the best temps. I want to use the EZFlash Utility but cant find links to either. I also am unsure if there is a difference between the scar 17 and 15 bios?

I use 3.15 and got 85° max playing in 4k via usb-c dongle in the Oled.

A question. I updated the Armoured Crate and the 3ms refrresh rate dissapeared. :(
I saw some videos in yt and unistalled the app, but in My Asus doesn´t appeared again.

Do you know how to make it appear again the 3ms in armoury crate again?

I assume you use external monitor with laptop's monitor being disabled.
If yes, try to enable laptop's monitor in "extend displays" mode and restart laptop.
Then open AMD Radeon Software confirm that you see display settings.
Then open Armoury Crate and select GameVisuals tab, it should download and install profiles. Another restart might be necessary. After restart you should have your Overdrive and you can disable your laptop's monitor again. This happens after iGPU/dGPU drivers update.

How do you stop the laptop to autoupdate the bios after installing the 3.15? or any lower one for that matter. If i install anything lower than current version, it automatically updates the bios after the next restart or boot up. Thanks.

    Hello,
I always use MSI 125W+5W VBIOS. 2x16GB CL20 Kingston Fury RAM. Armoury crate set to 80/80W for CPU (but overwritten by RyzenAdj, I can send you my settings if you want, I use it for bench purpose ONLY) with fan always at 100%, RTX +190MHz (stopped working at 200MHz), RTX mem +300MHz, GPU Power Saving set as "Default", and GPU fan always at 100%.
The "secret" is outdoor low tempréatures : I opened my office's windows for best cooling, => 18.6°C) ;) Autumn here in France...

I'd like to repaste both CPU and GPU, both with Liquid Metal, but I don't know if I can find it on Amazon.fr and Im a little bit scared, I don't want to damage anything... :(

    https://www.3dmark.com/spy/20591525

And Cinebench R23 : I use almost all his RyzenAdj settings, he said his room temperature was 24°C (is this really possible? With 18.6°C, I have CPU Multi Core score 13506...)

Hi everyone, I have the stock 32GB ram - RTX3080 - 5900HX and I am thinking of upgrading the Kingston dual rank
I don't want to do it unless it will give me FPS boost.
can someone who has them run PUBG on 1080p very low with an external monitor.
I know I am asking too much but I can't afford paying for 0% FPS boost.

I've been following this thread for a long time and I would like to thank everyone here for all the great information. I've been running the MSI 150 watt bios on my 3080 scar 15 and getting a graphics score around 13,500 in Timespy. The core needs around +120 to be artifact free in timespy (red lines flickering onto screen) and I have not tried any higher than +1200 on memory as I have seen +1200 to be unstable in other games. Recently I applied fresh liquid metal to the cpu (thermal grizzly conductonaut) and then to the GPU as well. I used thermal grizzly TG-shield to surround the gpu and nearby contacts in protective coating. This seems to have brought the temps down quite a bit in conjunction with the cold weather. Today I flashed the MSI 130 watt bios because I see it also has great results and I was hoping it might stop my nvidia hd audio randomly not working while using a usb-c to hdmi cable. It didnt fix my issue with the sound but it seems to be giving me better results than the MSI 150 watt bios. I did +150 and +1200 for this score. Not sure if the score is a result of the added memory and core clocks from previous runs. I believe I scored around 13,500 with a stable +120 +1000. Not sure if this even matters as I dont hit those clocks during graphics test 1 or 2. I am typically in the 1700-1800 range for those tests. Only the demo and regular games can bring me to 1900mhz+

Anyway enough text. Here is my score with the MSI 130 watt bios. Getting close to 14k

But this is not my best result.

I also have 13511 that is the best score online for this specific model but it is beaten by Eluktronics Inc. Prometheus XVII model.
But it is impossible to play with this score. Almost everything crashes, so relax and never look at top scores as they are not meant for anything else but achieving high score and place on board.
13249 is the highest and playable score that I was able to achieve on my laptop.
There's many loose records that I left somewhere here in this forum explaining how to achieve best score. But one thing all must understand that CPU and GPU performance is a lottery thing, you can have 2 identical laptops with same set up and one will always perform better just because has a better CPU/GPU from factory.

Are you using the MSI GE66 125+5W vbios? Do you have a download link for the MSI 130W vbios you are using?

Still no way to get a vbios to show us proper power usage?

The fact that it shows incorrect power usage is the only reason that it works. Members here have tried other vBIOSes that did correctly report power figures and did not offer any performance gain. Think of it like a software version of a shunt mod. The system sees that it's not hitting the power limit that the BIOS allows (System BIOS, not vBIOS - This is the reason why vBIOSes that do correctly report power figures don't work as we would expect them to, because the system is able to limit and control it as it was designed to do when it can actually read the values) and attempts to give it more power until it hits the limit that the GPU hardware is capable of.

So, if the 3080 inside the Scar is allowed an unlimited power budget, how much power does it draw? Seeing that the scores are well above 13k here, I'm guessing it is drawing way more than 150W, right? Because I have seen Legion 7i with 11980hk and 3080, even that barely manages to hit 13k.

Hi, I know it is slightly out of topic, but I have a question regarding Ram i g533qs. A few pages back there was a suggestion to buy Kingston hyperx 3200 cl20, as it is not possible to overclock ram in bios.
I've been looking all around, and it is generally out of stock.
Is there any other I shall look for, with 3200 for my Asus?
    For example there is G.SKILL RIPJAWS 3200mhz cl22 f4-3200C22D-64GRS
    ?
There is also slightly slower Hyper X 2933mhz cl17 kf429s17ibk2/64
Will there be a big difference?

need 64gb for unreal editor, I do not play games, just editing/rendering.
