I got 32-bit vist installed on my A8Jp and everything seems to work except the quick launch button above the function keys. Actually the bluetooth button works, but that's it. Any ideas?

Also, what exact is the ATK media download and what does it do...also want's TPM?

Thank you so much, guys! I was dying for some driver updates (I've had Vista for ~3 months) and this was exactly what I needed. You rock. =P

Everything works perfectly on my W3J except for the TPM stuff, which seems to make lots of other stuff FUBAR.

Does anyone know why ASUS hasn't posted the drivers up on the official download pages for the different models?

The 100.54 vista 64 bit drivers at laptopvideo2go.com work on the G1 7700. You must use the modded INF file to get them installed but they do work fine.

The laptop is Z96J, but should work for most Asus notebooks, also the Windows UPdate will install the BISON webcam, the sound card driver must download from 1st page of this thread.

Hello, I gave another shot at vista, as most of the drivers work now, but the only thing is Ricoh 5in1 car reader, which has drivers, I installed them but it just doesn't work. And another thing is still the screen mode change, as i did on xp change between theatre, normal, gamma, etc. I have a7t laptop and still waiting for free upgrade cd.

Which version of ATK0100 are you using ?
Am I right in saying that a version already comes with Vista (at least 32bits) ?
I too managed at some point to get these animations but now I no longer do so I'm going to start installing everything from scratch, again.
Any tips on maybe the order with which we should be installing all these applications ?

BTW the version of ATK0100 I tried to install after the one coming with Vista is 1043.3.2.31.

    Cheers

installing the new ATK the hcontrol on startup uses like 100% cpu i.e. 50% in task manager cos of dual core processer :D so i had to go back. ATKOSD2 doesn't work properly either.
Power4Gear works, just add batterylife.exe to startup and then p4g works fine. Its doing a better job than vista's built in mechanism

    This is very confusing...

Can someone please clarify for me what exactly i should install on an Asus A6KT ? ( http://asus.com/products.aspx?l1=5&l2=24&l3=134&model=1035&modelmenu=2)

I have absolutely no idea what system drivers (chipset drivers) i have to install for Vista. Sound card, camera, video card and others are not a problem locating and installing, but the system drivers are.
Also, what does the ATK utility exactly do (never really understood, but then again i'm a new Asus owner) and which one should i install?

    Thanks!

I am using the 1043.2.15.66 version or atleast trying to. I have a z96j, however on all of the 64bit atk0100, i havent found an installer to install is product. It just gives me like 3 files, and no installer. I found a 32-bit installer, but doesnt work.

    For Vista x64 users:

To install the Atk Driver you need to go to your device manager and update the driver on one of the Unknown detected devices. After i installed the drivers from this page i got most of the stuff working except for three items: One of them was the webcam, another one was a "Base system device" (still dunno what that is) and the last one was an "Unknown device". In my case, the unknown device was the ATK. I used the driver provided o nthe first page ( ATKDrv Vista 64-bit 1043.2.15.66 (Thanks to ladude626))

To install it you just navigate to the device manager and hit Update/install driver in the device properties sheet, select the "install from specific location" option and navigate to the folder where you extracted the three driver files...from there on it's just ok and next buttons.

Thanks a bunch for all the people that put this thread together, you did a great job!

Also, has anyone managed to get P4G, wireless console, media keys (and generaly hotkeys), Fn keys (like brightness and volume control) working on x64?

Just for reference, the notebook model i own is Asus G1

I have a Z96J, and I installed all the new ATK software, but none of my Fn keys work.

Is there anything special you did?

Also, what is the date on the Windows Update you have for the BisonCam? Mine gives a date of September something, and if I have it installed, Windows Live Messenger hangs when it launches.

    Thanks

Just install all 4 of these drivers and utilitys:

ATK Hotkey Utility for Vista (Thanks to BENDER)

    ATK0100 ACPI UTILITY
    http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/R1F/ATKDrv_Vista32bit_070126.zip

    ATK_MEDIA Utility

    ASUS ATKOSD2 UTILITY
    http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/G1/ATKOSD2_Vista32bit_070125.zip

You might need to reboot twice because one of the ATK drivers required.

Read my reply to daneel3001, there are some new drivers links and I already updated, install all 4 ATK drivers and utilitys and it'll work.

Also you'll need to isntall Touchpad driver in order for touchpad enable/disable key to work, for wireless button you'll need to isntall WirelessConsole.

    GenTechPC:

Thanks, I will give that a go tonight.
I noticed that sometimes (not sure if it's after a fresh restart or coming out of hibernate) the animations from ATKOSD2 show up and sometimes they don't, so far it seems random..

I'm having some problems when machine comes from hibernate, HControl.exe then goes berserk and uses 100% cpu and I then have to kill it.
PS: not sure if it has anything to do with it but I usually have two users logged in on the laptop and I recall somebody who reported some problem with HControl.exe and user switching..

I have the new ones you posted installed, but it still doesn't work. Before installing them, I had uninstalled the previous versions to make sure they weren't left over. I'll try doing a big search of my hard drive and registry for anything left over, and manually removing it.

    Thanks for your help.

hey, i have an A6T and i have just installed vista ultimate. everything works perfectly all the fn keys, brightness, sound, powermizer modes, mail, internet, wlan/bluetooth everything. all the other features work fine (possibly the card reader, i have no sd cards to test it with) and also the webcam and wireless aren't recognized at all by windows. i was wondering if anyone had any idea what i would have to install to get them working, mainly the wireless but the camera would be good as well

**EDIT: if it helps at all, in xp i remember the camera was just USB2.0 1.3M or something like that the driver cd has drivers for a D-Max and Lite-On cameras, as the Chicony drivers say they install, but says that the installation failed, same error if i use the A6T windows XP camera drivers from asus. and the wireless was an ASUS MIMO 240mbps. thanks in advance!

ah-huh! i got it working, i had to add in the PID of my wireless card that vista recognized into the inf file of the xp one and i can connect to my wireless network now. so if you have an A6T laptop try using these drivers:

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WJV1VCWP

**EDIT: i still need help with the camera driver!

    Hello ! :)

I have big problem with my ASUS F3F-AP075. I have bought and install Win Vista HP 64 bit and 3 things are still doesnt work - Bluetooth ( no good driver for 64 bit), Camera ( no good driver for 64 bit ), and the biggest problem is about SOUND. This model - i think - have Sigmatel 92xx music chip. the device is found by the system and instaled as "Device compatible with Hight Deffinition Audio". Everything looks great, there is no any conflict but ... there is no souund from the speakers and jack. I tried to upgrade drivers from support.asus.com but the device is no work properly - the are conflict in device manager. Asus worldwide and asus Poland cant help me :(

Hi Ken, I am running a 64bit version of Vista, I am wondering if these 32 bit drivers will work?

By the way, is the ATKOSD2 file for the card reader? I don't really care about the webcam or Asus quicklaunch buttons but I do need the card reader for ReadyBoost.

Hi Gator, the ATK0SD2 is not the card reader driver, you can try this one here:
    ftp://ftp.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/W2P/RICOH_Vista64_070117.zip

The webcam driver can be obtain by using Windows Update, also some other drivers should be vista 32/64 compatible.

xboxes have an internal usb port on older modles (completely off topic) but maybe a usb wlan card was cheaper than a mini-pci one for some reason so they used that with an internal usb plug. but i have no idea for the drivers

    Hi there :)

I have an Asus G1 and am working on getting all the devices installed for Windows Vista Ultimate x64

So far I have gotten most things working, but the links on the first page do not work for the drivers. I scavenged through the FTP site and was able to find vista drivers for the camera under the VX2 directory, and the ACPI link I found on the board worked great. (Atk0100 for Vista)

The only thing I have left is 1 unknown system device and I need to get the hotkeys working.

The hotkey link on the first page is dead, does any one have a updated link?

I will keep checking the FTP in the meantime.

Thanks for any help that can be provided :)

If you replace the front links with ftp://ftp

they all work - Still not sure what the "base system device" is though

Err...the link isn't working, when I browse their ftp directory it appears they only have the 32bit version for the card readers. Also, does it matter that this is in the W2P notebook section?
