Hello !
I have big problem with my ASUS F3F-AP075. I have bought and install Win Vista HP 64 bit and 3 things are still doesnt work - Bluetooth ( no good driver for 64 bit), Camera ( no good driver for 64 bit ), and the biggest problem is about SOUND. This model - i think - have Sigmatel 92xx music chip. the device is found by the system and instaled as "Device compatible with Hight Deffinition Audio". Everything looks great, there is no any conflict but ... there is no souund from the speakers and jack. I tried to upgrade drivers from support.asus.com but the device is no work properly - the are conflict in device manager. Asus worldwide and asus Poland cant help me

Hi,
I am not sure if anyone has posted this already, but Intel has now all Vista32/64 drivers for ASUS S96J and Asus Z96J on its download site plus a new version of Bios.
Sorry if it has been posted already -
Thanks yeah it's on Intel's site but the one driver I need, the 64bit RICOH card reader driver, cannot be used. It says that S96J owners using Vista 64bit need to use the OS's built in driver for it, problem is there is no built in driver and windows update doesn't have it either. SOB!

I have a Asus Z96JP
Vista 32Bit Ultimate
Did anyone get the ATK drivers to work on Z96J? Eg. turn up/down and mute audio?
I have installed the 4 ATK drivers "GentecPC" listed. But no function.
Touchpad driver dosen't work (touchpad driver installed)
Futher more, Wireless button doesn't work. (Wireless Console installed)
There is no light in Wifi indicator (still i am connected to my WLAN)
Please tell me which drivers to install.
Please note that my bios i ver. 901 (the newest i can find) I cant install the S96J from the Intel site, Winflash says that the bios doesn't match my notebook (S96JP) -
The ATK drivers were the only reason I didn't keep Vista on my machine. Any ETA on when Asus will have working ones? -
ASUS is working hard on all drivers. And imo, they are doing a lot better than many other companies out there.

Can I upgrade Asus Z71V to Vista? (Added for a better hit on Search Engines)Sure, with a few minor hiccups.
I have Z71V (M7V) NB with Vista HP 32-bit. I have installed all drivers but the Ricoh card reader is still not working. I have the Microsoft WPD Filesystem Volume Driver that still screaming for a driver. It goes out to Windows Update but never finds anything. Microsoft Update says the driver is up to date. When I stick a card in it says Not accessible access denied.
The Z71V has the Ricoh 5c476(II) that I can tell. It looks like the drives for others are diferent models?
From what I have seen from those that fixed it they do not know what they did- they just say it works, which is encouraging, but no one remembers/knows how they got it to work. I have reread through all the posts again, but the closest thing that I saw to answer was a default route to C:\windows\system32, which is not the best thing, but if someone can confirm that this pointed to a driver there that works- then I will give it a shot.
Chkmail Utility does not work either....It says initializing after running and an icon appears in the systray, but then goes away. In TaskMgr the process starts and ends in about 2 seconds.
Also The Microphone is not working, The Sound recorder records a file, but there is no audio recorded. Yes Audio drivers work
I have tested everthing else and it looks pretty good. All FN keys and hotkeys work except for 1 - the EMAIL hotkey for some reason, but all other quick keys..Web browser, Wi-fi, Touchpad disable, and P4G keys work.
ATK OSD is a nice change from the old one...
I think that wraps it up. If you have any answers. I am all ears.
For those looking to upgrade the Z71V, then Yes you can Upgrade if you can live with the few hiccups described above, which will be fixed with the help of this forum real soon....I hope -

there is a wlan utilities - drivers updated for vista??
i can install the wlan card with old driver, but i can't turn off radio! -
Strange, I tested Z96J with Vista Ultimate just like yours, all functions works for me and I am using the 4 ATK links from page one, did you uninstall all previous version before install the new one?
-
Confirmed!
You do need to uninstall all previoius version of ATK, Power4Gear, Wireless Console.., reboot and reinstall the Vista Version.
Also works on Windows XP too except Power4Gear Extreme:
-
As for the BIOS update, WinFlash says it's the right update, but when I click flash, it reboots into the DOS based utility and freezes, at which point I have to unplug my laptop and pull the battery out. -
I have A8JP and I installed all the drivers from A8JR for vista 32bit and Fn buttons all work, wireless and audio. (what is that touchpad enabled?)
However I do have an issue with my video. It's not a huge deal but for some reason the vista scores my graphics as 1.0. I suppose it has to do with ati's catalyst for the x1700, hopefully support comes out fo rthat very soon. I'm very pleased with Asus (I just got my laptop last week) Thanks for all teh support on the forums, keep up the good work -
my problem is the wlan too.......i have installed driver manually and the wlan is always activate! and i can't turn off with wireless console or FN + F2
-
i have just installed home premium on imy w3v.
so far i have only used the drivers on windows update.
are the drivers, particularly the ati graphics and utility better than the ones supplied by windows?
i noticed that my graphics score for desktop dropped from 2.8 to 2.2 after updating from the windows update site.
thanks -
Vista ultimate 32bit all working okay on my V6VA. I just installed it and used Vista update for all other missing drivers ("?" in device manager).
Only thing I had to install was the Toshiba bluetooth stack. It prompted to attach bluetooth device during installation so pressing the bluetooh on/off button did the trick i.e. switching BT on. Thanks for the links!
I also managed to get my Logitech v270 mouse working. Double click on the BT icon in sys tray. Switch on mouse and hit the reset button a couple of times before selecting the recommended option. Repeat this process if it doesn't work first time. -
anyone have Asus WL-159 drivers for vista?

Thanks that server works. -
got vista to work with most of the buttons on my w3v (except the touch pad and dvd button) - don't know how but after several reboots it worked. you do not need wirless console to get the wireless button working.
2 questions:
- power4gear does not change the brightness regardless of what i set it too. read something similar for the w3j - any workaround?
- when i press the internet explorer button, the interesting thing is ie7 works but it does so in unprotected mode and all the settings are default. this is difficult to if i launch ie7 within vista as it comes up in protected mode and my customised settings. anyone notice something similar -
The problem was that i was using BIOS 901 (the newest from Asus website)
I downloaded the newest BIOS from Intel's website (BIOS 1201) (S96J) and took a chance that it would work on my Z96J, as the machines is virtualy identical.
And it worked perfectly. Then I installed the ATK driveres form page one.
ATK buttons are now working, just as you said.
But but:
Build in Microphone and Bison webcam is still not working. -
I have my F3Jm working with everything except the Fn + F10, Fn + F11 and Fn + F12 which are Mute, Volume down and volume up respectively. The graphic appears and behaves normally - goes up and down etc and the Mute graphic appears normally on the screen but has no affect on the actual volume
Any ideas?
Does anyone know where I can actually configure those Fn (function) keys?
Also what actually is it that controls those function keys?
Is it ATKACPI and ATK Media Utility?
I sort of went on a mass installing spree of drivers etc and can't be sure which one actually controls those Fn keys. -
try to install ATKOSD2 for vista
-
WinFlash loads fine in Windows, but when I click Flash, it reboots, and it just freezes at the screen that comes up, and I have to unplug the laptop and remove the battery to turn it off (holding power button does not work).
I'd really like to get the new bios on, so maybe I'll try a bootable flash drive. -
-
-
-
But I don't get an option to disable the bluetooth, wireless console only shows LAN on/off. -
OK well I installed ATKOSD2 for vista which A. didn't fix my volume issue (F10 - volume mute, F11 - volume down, F12 - volume up) still displays the graphic but the sound isn't affected at all.
Also the previously the lights for my wireless and bluetooth displayed when active AND the Function F2 would enable, disable bluetooth and wireless lan and now the Function F2 does nothing.
So it seems as though ATKOSD2 for vista doesn't do anything.
Anyone know what this could be?
I just want my function keys to work as they are supposed to with Vista. Thinking about going back to XP at this stage as there a couple of other things that are annoying me. -
my wlan is always enabled too!, what is this problem???? -
One other thing I've noticed is with the latest ChkMail I've been able to find - it has a huge memory leak. Leave it running for a few hours, and I've seen it using over 300MB. -
Did you guys notice any performance increase with 1201 bios, how can I flash bios without going through winplash.
-
Download the BIOS, copy it to some form of bootable media, and run the .bat file. -
-
Updated the BIOS and loaded "defaults in the bios"
And checked that Vista didn't download any driver updates from the Internet
Installed the Updated driveres and wireless console from "page 1"
I have everything working now, execpt:
I can't disable/enable bluetooth with FN+F2
Build in microphone not working.
Bisson cam is working with the new driver from Intel. -
I already had the latest BIOS.
I removed all of the ATK related drivers I had installed as well as the wireless and power4gear drivers.
Restarted.
Then reinstalled those 4 ATK drivers, the 1 wireless and the 1 P4G driver.
Then restarted.
Now all of my Function keys, and other buttons work perfectly as do the little green lights for wireless and bluetooth. I have an F3Jm.
Thanks!!! -

When I uses Fn F2, or manually select the option in the wireless console, it briefly changes the console icon to WLAN disabled, but then it changes back to enabled. -
Can anyone help me? I've got an A4KA, i've added some ram (now I've got 2 GB) and I installed Vista, but I have problems with the various fn+fx...I installed hcontrol and atkosd2...but some shortcuts still don't work, like fn+f2 ( it does nothing, only the animation is shown)..

The wireless console *should* work, but for us, it doesn't. -
but I can control wireless only from the control panel, not with the shortcuts
