    NFS:mw
Update: I finally installed 12.11beta (no ocing) @1366x768 I get 35-50FPS (avg 42FPS) at same low settings mentioned below with older driver. So it's official, this game requires newer drivers to play. I was able to improve to medium-high settings (eg. vfx detail high, geometry detail med, ambient occlusion on)and achieve playable 25-40FPS (avg 32FPS) depending on the complexity of the scene and traffic. Shadow detail caused the most slowdown, so just leave that off for smoother playable framerate.

Old Results: With older12.7beta oced to 2.4ghz @1366x768 I only had 30-38FPS (avg 35FPS) --but only with custom lowered settings:
High Rez textures on, Motion blur low, shadow level none, ambient occlusion off,
reflection low, vfx detail med, geometry detail low, light scattering off. (if any of the underlined settings were increased higher I lose 5-10FPS to laggy 19-25 FPS)
So the upgrade to12.11beta was worth it, and NFS most wanted looks great!

just a heads up for those of you interested in undervolting, i have this system running at 600mhz with only 0.7v going in (8,4,0.7). I will try to get it lower, but this is great for battery squeezing and leaving your comp on overnight for a download or the like. however i cannot tell you that these setttings will work for you or tell you that it may not damage your cpu, as every one is different.
    blah blah discaimers. pix B-low.

I open it yestarday, removed old thermal paste and put new one, some junk I had in house(used it on phenom II x3 720 BE and worked great for it).Made few holes under cooler. After that I overclocked at 2.3 with temperatures under 90,around 86-87 when testing new OC with intel burn test.Best temps I have with 1800 (like in pic). But now I have it set on 2350 now, ganged, based on highest loded core to test more.

    I'm using stock thermal paste, 1800mhz - 0.9625 .
    When I play NFS MW 2012, hit 83C !
may I know what's your surrounding temperature? roughly how many degree.

Maybe don't use these tests, but open hwinfo in background and play some games- mine CPU overclocked to 2,4 GHz with tuboboost of 3.0 GHz+ gpu overclocked (667/ 1000) never exceeded 75° C during these tests, but when I'm playing Max Payne on high details(custom- some settings are maxed out, others are on medium) , mine cpu reaches 83° C on table (that is max temperature I have recorded after 2h of gaming), 70°-80°°C on lap/ any uneven surface, where front (where are air intake vents for cooling) is lover than the place where the fan is.

P.S. My advice- never let air intakes be higher than the cooling fan (if you hadn't done any cooling mods), once I left my computer in bed standing on screen , so airflow wouldn't be distracted, but my lappy with "Alan Wake" still open and running reached 93° C.
P.P.S. My lappy doesn't have any cooling mods/ thermal paste hasn't been changed.

I'm currently using 128GB Crucial M4 SSD . I feel that I'm running out of space , planning to grab another SSD and put it into caddy .
I've checked wikipedia, the chipset in this laptop , which is A70m support raid 0 , and raid 1 .
Is that possible for me to enable raid 0 in this laptop if I've installed 2 SSD in the laptop?

Up to you really. I can do prime95 all day long at 2.3GHz, but if I change to 2.4 or above, the CPU throttles down. Makes it hard to test higher frequencies for Turbo settings when it does this. Maybe I just need to set all p levels to the higher GHz so that it can't throttle when it hits the magic temperature and instead crash and burn! >.>

Good luck with your higher clocks.

That is fine, 1.075 is the typical value for 2.2ghz and probably can undervolt lil more, but there is nothing wrong upping it a bit to ensure stability.
Depend if you have a 60W or 90W adpater, gaming with anything above 2.2ghz may not work if you have a 60W .

I installed Windows 8 x64 on this laptop and I have the same problem as described a few pages before. The 12.11 beta drivers were working perfectly and I played through NFS:most wanted. I then installed COD:Black ops 2 and tried to switch the game to the high performance mode in the switchable graphics settings, but the CCC immediately closes when I select "switchable graphics application profiles" so it just stopped working for some reason. Switchable graphics global settings open fine, but the selections are empty there.

I tried uninstalling and cleaning the drivers in safe mode and then reinstalling different drivers like 12.10, 12.11 beta and 12.11 beta .net 4. I have now idea what to do know :)

    19V * 3.42A = 60W, right?

if so, can you please link me to a 90W adapter? I was wondering why my power button would start flashing after a couple minutes of gaming with a 2.2 ghz OC

If when gaming, suddenly it change from AC to battery, then that mean not enough power. Not sure about flashing though, had no problem with 2.2ghz and some GPU OC.
90W is easy to find on ebay, but may not worth it if it do fine with 60.

do you have any idea why my system index drop to 5.3 and 6.0 for graphics?
before i format my laptop it's 6.6 for both, exactly same as yours .
is it because of it was using integrated graphic card when benchmark?

Need For Speed The Run 83°C/25↔33FPS/ULTRA,NO Vsync
    Medal of Honor Warfighter 75°C/15↔25FPS/Medium
    F1 2012 75°C/25FPS stable/Medium-High
    Prototype 2 79°C/14↔25FPS/Medium-High
Call of Duty Black Ops II 70°C/20↔30FPS/Medium
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier 75°C/14↔25FPS/Medium
Fifa 13 Bought it,but not tested yet

Didn`t test thise games for long periods(10↔15 minutes),that`s why temps didn`t raise over 75°C,but i`m sure
max would be less 85°C(from previous testing)
    All games runs ok.
    No CrossFire,overclocked(see my previous posts).

I take it out whenever I'm not needing the portability or always near an electrical outlet. Heat from the laptop will reduce the performance of the battery faster over time. Sometimes very rarely I even stick it in the refrigerator to prolong the life of the battery (this is only if I know I won't be using the battery for very extensive number of months.) But most of us will move on to better laptops within a few years, so all of these precautions are probably overkill.

edit: Has anyone tried out the new graphic drivers 12.11beta "7"? I think it came out in the past 2 days.--only useful for those with COD Black Ops 2 since it includes all fixes in prior 12.11 betas.

I finally fixed this by installing the 12.8 drivers. These drivers don't have the "switchable graphics application profiles" setting that always closed on me and I can now assign these profiles via the older "switchable graphics" menu option.

I'd appreciate any help with figuring out my BSOD issue with my k53ta. Yesterday I finally got around to buying an SSD and RAM to make it run a bit quicker. So I hooked up the SSD and replaced both sticks of RAM with a new set and then installed a fresh version of Win 7 Professional. Then I went to the ASUS website and downloaded all the drivers they had, and then went to the AMD website and downloaded the latest Catalyst. The problem is that I keep getting BSODs(have had at least 8 since yesterday). There are two errors that I've been able to read of the BSOD. One error ends with F4 and the other is a kernel stack inpage error. I hooked up the old hd and it works. I haven't had a BSOD since, so my problem must be either with the drive, or my installation.

Does anyone know if I'm missing any drivers? I checked the Centon website for drivers for the SSD and they don't have any posted in the support section. I can also reinstall the OS again, but would prefer not to have to do so.

Thanks in advance for any help :)
