    So I finally got around to sending in my reciept (I know I am a little late to the party) and have been having issues.

    The email bounced back saying the user mailbox exceeds allowed size, and the fax will not go through either. I am pretty sure I dialed the country codes correctly.

    I really don't want to have to mail this. Anyone else have this issue? Hopefully they are just extra busy this week.

    I think I read somewhere else on the forum that they had to wait a week or two to resend the email. Eventually, Asus deletes the emails they read and it opens back up to be sent.

    i havent heard back from them since july. i typed in the info in an email using the val number on my best by receipt. was that not the right number to use?

    I'm having issues to. I placed my order for Win7 like a week after buying the laptop, in august I think, and send the proof of purchase the same day I think. My status was Pending for Fulfillment but I never received the email from Asus confirming the proof of purchase, and two days ago my status went back to Pending for Proof of Purchase. I re-send the email with the receipt, but don't know if it will work. Anyone with similar problems that has solved them?

    Asus better get on the ball and come through for us. I know it's free but they could put in effort in all this, Windows 7 is a freakin big deal of an upgrade!

    I'm waiting for mine too. I noticed that there are drivers for win7 for the laptop now. When Asus sends us the win7 disk, will it have all the drivers to install, or will it be just the windows dvd and we have to dload everything to upgrade?

    More than likely we will have to dl the drivers. Shouldn't be much of an issue though as they are readily available..........

    Last couple of months have I been busy...buying laptops that is :p
    Got a NP8662 and installed a QX9300 for my bro :D
    Got a 2 MSI barebones put in Quads and sold them best part was I get all the free W7 upgrades. :D
    Ordered the up upgrades July 26, Sept 21, and last one was Oct 8.
    Like I said I was surprised I got all 3 at the same time.
    And yes 1 copy will go to my NP9262 :D

    According to the FAQ on the Asus Windows 7 upgrade page, they will send 2 discs: Windows 7 and a model-specific driver disc.

    yes, but doenst mentor handle all win7 upgrades regardless of manufacturer? i just wanted to know how long it takes...and he gave it to me

    and wth, oct, yet u got it so early? cmon...i guess this means the process via user, cuz they shipped em at the same time, and even the late registration @ oct will still let u get it early.

    All the proof I need is sitting on my desk.
    Maybe I missed the point but I got my 3 upgrades when I bought 3 copies of VISTA to install for 3 different laptops.
    I guess you guys get he W7 upgrade directly from ASUS but I got mine directly from MICROSOFT . I used the coupon's inside the VISTA OS's I bought.
    Slight misunderstanding thought this post was for W7 upgrade in general not exclusively for the ASUS W7 upgrade.
    I thought all W7 upgrades came from the same place :eek:

    I've just gotten two more conflicting (surprise) answers on when they will start shipping. The earliest estimate is "starting October 25th" (so if anyone sees their status change, please post) while the other is "early November."

    I still can't get anyone from Asus on the record about what/if the fee will be for US customers.

    Which would be nice. But then someone from Asus mentioned a fee, so I asked for clarification. The only answer that I have gotten is "around $20." They have since repeatedly refused to answer a direct question on the subject.

    Edit: I just received another reply stating that there will be no fee for the "upgrade" but there will be a fee for "processing and shipping." Still no response on what that fee will be.

    THERE IS NO FEE if you live in the 50 states of USA. the fees are only s/h to other nations around the world like canada, australia, watever etc.

    That is not what Asus has repeatedly told me. According to the US Asus rep on this forum:

    If anyone in the US has received their discs, please post and let us know. I am aware that the registration site says "there may be a fee" and lists this as N/A for US customers, but this is the information that Asus has given me.

    well they screwed up, it is a FREE upgrade, the s/h is only going to be for non-US residents, who will need the pay the EXTRA cost that it will take to ship from america to wherever. dont always take what the rep say as srs, sometimse they are wrong, if it said N/A as the charge during checkout, they cannot just put up an additional cost like that.

    I got mine. I think? I got a win7 upgrade dvd in the mail today. NO DRIVER DISK. Does anybody know what drivers to install and in what order to install them? I downloaded all the 7-64bit drivers from the asus site. I want to do a clean installation as I can't see how upgrading the vista 64 I have is gonna be a "clean" installation.

    My order just went to "Pending for Payment" status.
    I'm being charged 22 Euro for delivery to Ireland which is a bit of a joke really!
    At least they seem to have accepted the screenshot of the XoticPC online order as POP, I didn't have a paper invoice.

    they wont respond to my email I sent about a week ago about the unchanged status of my order, and yesterday i resent my PoP, which i havent even recieved a verification from. does anyone know which number i can use to get asus/mentor media/ whoevers a$$ i need to kick on the phone? because email is not working...

    just got an email stating that payment was successful, and another email will be sent upon shipping.

    As for the rebate, they have sent it out and if i don't receive it by Nov. 6 i'm supposed to contact them.

    When did yu put your order in as well? Maybe we should list;
    1.) Date Win7 was ordered.
    2.) country.
    3.) Model Ordered for.

    I noticed the two here have the G51's in the Sigs, maybe the order is either model/DVD driver disk dependent...........
