Just got the e-mail from Asus confirming payment as well
Date: September 2009 (Sent PoP in)
Country: Australia
Model: G51VX-RX05 -
As for your request,
Date: August 2009
Country: United States
Model: G51VX-RX05(a.k.a. Best Buy White Version)
Others who, like me,live outside the US and ordered online can take solace in this,as the ball is visibly now rolling. It took forever,as my order sat at this annoying "Pending for POP" status until Early-Mid October, but things finally started moving. If everything's rolling for me,it means there's no problem sending an online receipt as a PDF or XPS file format.

My order status disappeared today. Was Pending Proof of Purchase (despite my having submitted it twice, by two methods, months ago). Now the box has no text in it and has sort of collapsed. I guess the change at least implies there is somebody alive there.
-
So I think that makes 4 G51 owners with emails so far. I have already got my two coppies from BB, preordered at the 50.00 price..........
-
Got my E-payment confirmation today. Sent it off Oct14/09
N51VN-A1 -
Sent proof of purchase in October 19th and status moved to "pending for payment" today so it looks like things are starting to move ahead.
-
Sent PoP on 10/10 and status has changed in "pending for fulfillment". My other order from July 19 has changed in PFF as well, but I've never sent the POP for that one. (?)

PENDING FOR FULFILLMENT! WOOOOOOOOT!!!
Will i have to uninstall windows and reinstall 7? -
I bought myself a external 500GB Hard drive and backed up EVERYTHING off my G71GX - just in case the transfer doesn't go over well.
@Sahugani: You might want to check your status throughout the day and tomorrow, it seems Asus has woken up from it's slumber and decided to update statuses recently. -
Can i borrow your external? lolol. i wish i could back up all my music
-
@da1writer: i cant exactly check my status as i stupidly deleted the email with my order number. though its probably safe to assume that i will get it within the next week or two.
-
yep, same here... finally changed to Pending For Fulfillment for me as well after sitting at pending for proof for months
-
Me too, Pending For Fulfillment. So.... you guys are going to do the transfer or a clean install of Win7?
-
-
What ? how would you need to purchase them? there are many keyfinder programs out there that let you pull your key from the registry.
-
how would u clean install the upgrade disc?
and YAYZOR im finally at pending for fullfillment...they are finally off their asses.
man, i want win7 so badly rite now, i need some1 to post a guide of how to install it tho..idk wth is going on rite now.
do i pop that upgrade disc in, and boot it up and it will copy all my stuff from vista to win7 ? is there way to clean install (i would like to do that). i got a 160GB hdd to backup important stuff, still needa buy a 1tb external. games i will reinstall, will buy a fresh 1yr copy of norton 2010 for 20bucks. things look set fo me.
nice DP element, how did u make taht? photoshop? -
Pop in the disc, click custom install, decide on your partitioning scheme, install. bam you have a clean OS with all files moved into the "windows.old" directory. backing up of files is still recommended though. And yes, made in photoshop
-
haha yea just read it on sevenforums. i didnt know that they all files get backed up into that .old directory, that is awesome! cant wait till it arrives, what was it...nov? dam the wait is gonna kill me.
btw for partitioning schemes, i have it set @ 300GB C:/ and D:/, when i install win7, does it chose how much i want to allocate to C:/ for the windows partition and leaves my D:/ unchanged? Say i want to make C:/ 150GB, can i allocate that space and put it into D:/ to make it a 450GB partition? -
No. those 2 300GB partitions are on 2 different drives.
-
wait...so when i insatll it will it basically open up a screen like the Computer Management tool in vista taht allows to expand drives etc? then i can change things from there?
cuz when it install win7, it will go on my 300gb C:/ rite...or does it amke a new partition specifically for win7? -
what email address did you guys send your PoP to.
I've sent mine twice, and i still haven't gotten a reply.
[email protected] -
oh and also just a note...be sure to put Order Number - xxxxxxxxxxxx and not just the # I think this might be what the huge delay was in getting my status changed.
@ accuracy, I sent to that email as well. -
-
just got this email:
Dear Customer, Please be informed that the Windows7 Upgrade Kit will be available in December 2009. You will be notified by email when product is available which will be followed by a payment notification email. We thank you for your kind understanding and patience. -
Ordered aug13th, still on Pending for Fulfillment
-
I sent my pop via email a few weeks ago and it came back as undeliverable mail. I have printed everything out and will send it via post office return receipt tomorrow. I got an email yesterday that it will be december before the win 7 upgrade kit ships. I don't like it but what can i do except be patient. I bought 2 laptops in Sep, a g71gx for me and a k50ab for my wife. I am getting ready to build a gaming desktop but i am re-thinking the asus components because of this customer service issue.
-
the fact that i havent heard ANYTHING from asus about when this ships or if my pop was accepted is very irritating. i might as well get win7 from other sources.
-
what?
where do you check -
There is a link in the email they sent you.
-
oh. since i guess since all they've sent me me was an email that told me that my computer was registered and one asking for PoP, i didn't get that yet.
Has everyone else gotten theirs already? -
Yes, you did. Its in the email they send you asking for PoP
-
from [email protected]
-
below that should be:
"The proof of purchase must include the following information:
o A clear description of the product.
o The product's date of purchase.
o An invoice or receipt number.
o The product's price.
o The reseller's contact information, and if possible, the reseller's company seal or logo.
o The proof of purchase should also include the product's serial number, if the reseller normally lists serial numbers on their invoices.
To check on your Order Status, please login here." and here=hyperlink -
Well...Here it is...the email we have all been waiting for:

Boo! That is poor customer service!!! -
You're right this is a totally unreasonable delay and I would say this will certainly guarantee that no one will ever buy a new computer again once an announcement has been made about a new operating system being launched.
Absolutely deplorable service and any responsible company should be totally ashamed of themselves if this is the best they can do. -
BTW, the telephone # is 1-909-930-0800 extension 778 just in case anyone wants to call them, and maybe ream them out!! A December 2009 date is completely unreasonable in my eyes as well! Good luck! -
I recieved the same email with a Dec 09 ship date. Whats really sad is I already recieved my Win 7 upgrade for my Acer laptop. I guessing the delay with Asus is driver related

skygunner27 A Genuine Child of Zion
I too am also at the Pending for Fulfillment status. I got sick of waitiing for ASUS to confirm my proof of submission I had Bestbuy do a clean install of W7. For those of you who don't know: if you purchased your PC at Bestbuy and is eligible for the W7 upgrade all you have'f to do is pay 40.00USD and show your recipt. They will do the install clean or upgrade and give you the retail edition of Windows 7 32bit & 64bit in the box with the smoke plastic case.
After the upgrade was done alot of my ASUS utilities did NOT work. So I tried to use the drivers disk that was bundled with my G71 and most of those weren't compatible with W7. So I had Bestbuy do a clean install and I downloaded the drivers from ASUS's support page. Everything is all smooth sailing from there.
I too am still waiting for my Free copy from ASUS because I have a ASUS netbook 1005HAB that needs W7 HP.
I hope all of you people(myself included) recieve your copy of W7 Free from ASUS soon as promised. -

Thanks for the heads up skygunner27, hopefully we will all see our disc before their projected email has mentioned (Dec). I really want to take a stab at Windows 7, loved RC! It's also good to know that if my patience grows real thin that I can get Windows 7 from Best Buy easily.

Did some checking and from Asus's rating at the Better Business Bureau I think we may have bought from the wrong company at least in terms of how they respond to customer problems/issues:
