Although we honor BBB complaints like any other complaints. We do not have any control about their grading or rating system.

Within the period of 36 months according to their site, we have received 165 complaints, 104 of those have been closed. They are also comparing us to companies which fall in their category of small due to our original profile showing only 10 employees. We are working to gain BBB accreditation and our company profile properly reflected on their database.

We are not disputing any of their records, we are merely pointing some inaccuracies that currently exist.

That's what this thread is all about - funny how he was so quick to defend the Company's standing with the BBB but didn't bother to provide any details as to when the upgrade disks would be shipped....

If I had information about the shipping dates, I would gladly provide it here.

Unfortunately, being my home office is US, I do not have logistical information regarding the upgrade program.

I can inquire as to what order batch is being processed, but I do not have access to individual orders to verify which position they are in the queue.

One question to anyone who knows, since I had to call the distributor to get an email verifying my POP: What's the web address to check the status of your order? I never got the original email with that link.

I can appreciate that but can you at least confirm orders will be shipped before the December date mentioned earlier in this thread.

The link to check the order status LINK

mod please remove link if not allowed. tnx.

The first batch of shipments will be Mid November for US. The December date is a worse case scenario since the shipping dates will coincide with the busy holiday season for the US and Canada markets.

Its not their fault, its them getting the short end of the stick whilst Microsoft distributes the upgrades, if you want to complain email someone over at microsoft.

what would u do if some1 was trying to discredit you...not defend urself?!?

and...as mentioned, he wont try to skip a question for no reason, obviously he doesnt have enough resources to answer the questions...

and yes, asus is not to blaim, the fulfillment part basically means, "micro$ are being lazy/overloaded and we aint got the upgrade from them yet," therefore they are waiting for micro$ to fulfill the windows 7 upgrade promise.

offtopic/ dammit element, how do u OC @ 610/1000/1625!? i crash within 20sec of 3dmark...my highest is the sig clocks, now i feel even worse, you gotz ultimate temps, ultimate OC abilities, ultimate luck...what dun u got?

I do not think it is only M$ fault here. Asus needs to create and distribute all those driver disks to the outside provider who must package and send them out. Alot of those drivers became available late september so there are alot of disks to make and distribute. All these disks are besides the top priority ones that have to be packaged with current laptops too, and yes we are second rate where there is current money to be made.

This all falls too that we were never promised timely updates, just updates. Shame on us for not expecting the delay, actually I did but that is because Vista had already taken this bite out of me once before. As they say live and learn, and remember to use your future purchasing power to let the companies know your wrath............

I don't think Asus can blame the delay entirely on Microsoft - if you check the Acer board for one, people there have already started receiving their update disks.

yes but where does it say that all companies recieve there disks from Micro$ at the same time? asus is located in taiwan, that not helping as well...iuno tho, acer is also taiwanese but just saying, asus could be recieving disk much l8rz than acer.

Unfortunately, no one is to blame regarding delays. There are numerous steps that we have to take in order to finalize a driver for release, let alone an image ready for press.

For notebook drivers which are received from device manufacturers, it requires to be tested by our engineers, then passed WHQL certification - these basic steps can cause a delay of up to 2 weeks per step if issues are found, Granted the delay is caused by us. Disc pressing and shipping is another possible cause for delay, I cannot elaborate much on it since I don't know the specifics of their processing.

We are doing our best to meet the demands of our end-users, resellers, and distributors within the US and Canada. I am sure our other offices around the world and the doing the same.

Okay....here's the latest info that I just got by calling mmedia. I was just told that Asus upgrade kits were released last night. Of course I have a reason to be skeptical, but they told me that we should start receiving the upgrades in about five business days.... We'll see if this comes about or not...... Also Asus Customer Care? Thanks for at least posting to keep us updated, it's appreciated. I do have to disagree with you though on your statement about drivers......First of all 99.9% of all Vista drivers work with Windows 7, plus Asus support has the Windows 7 drivers posted on the support download site.....So that being said, I have to dispute your post!

no i believe we count as the G60Vx section, because if you go see your order, it is named as the G60Vx instead of G51Vx under the "product number"...so 11/13-11/30 estimated

I've recently had a clean install of W7 HP 64bit on my G71GX. The reason why I had a clean install done was because the upgrade caused ALOT of Asus programs to malfunction. Then I tried to use the drivers/utilities disc that came with my pc to fix the problems. Nope. Almost every driver/utility would not install and the ones that did had problems. So then I downloaded all the W7 drivers and most of the programs installed fine but the Direct Console 2.0, ATK Hotkey, Realtek and EIO all had serious problems with W7 and they were the W7 drivers/utilities.

To remedy these problems tech support told me that I had to install the ATK Hotkey then Direct Console 2.0. It had to be in that order or it would not work. They were right!! The CSR had to find somebody else to explain to them how to fix. These problems were not something that could be fixed by the average tech.

Maybe this info can shed some light :)

I understand the delay, most others aren't as apreciative of the multiple issues involving releasing all new DVD drivers and disks etc. I have to say though to Asus "Shame on you!". The beta and later RC and then RTM have been availabe for a while now. As a corperation you have had more than ample time to get the drivers ready for WHQL, publishing and release. Asus, along with some other manufacurers, has seriously dropped the ball here.

I don't believe Asus, or the other manufacturers, sincerity though until I see a public anouncement and appology for their error! For this reason those that do not own up will never get a hardware recomendation from me. Essentially if you can't own your problems I will never recomend anyone EVER owning your products........

Edit; I'm sorry "No one is to blame" does not cut it. Ultimately for the drivers it is YOUR responsabilty! All the engineers, publishing, subcontracts, timely release, etc are you, not someone else. Now again I understand it may be "No one issue is to blame" but all these issues ultimately are your responsability!!!!!!!!!!!!

Count me in.Received the exact same e-mail today, with the only difference being the carrier and the 6-10 days estimate.Forge,a stab in the dark: perhaps us US outsiders who had to actually pay for the shipping are catered to 1st and U freeloaders are left out to dry ;).On a more serious note,it's just a thought, but it might be possible.U shouldn't get yours delivered after ours if ASUS respected their announced FIFO policy.Perhaps they prioritize the ones who had to pay.

Or another even more outlandish supposition is that different branches of the company are handling different regions,as Australia and India are relatively in the same geographical zone.I make this supposition because I received mine from this address:

    [email protected]

Notice the sg for Singapore. If FuniGTR can confirm he got his from the same address, that might be a reason.

All speculation, really. The ASUS rep on here may shed light on this issue.

YIKES!!!! I didn't realize that these upgrade kits were being shipped by model specific. Sorry about my post earlier about getting my email that Asus had shipped my upgrade kit. I don't have a laptop, I have a desktop, but when I searched on google about the Asus problems with windows 7 upgrade, this forum came up......sorry if I created any confusion, and good luck with your upgrades.
