You can start ordering the Envy 14 on June 27th. Might take a few weeks before it gets to your door though if you customize it.

I am in the same boat. Waited for the ul30vt silver version til January, then they announced the ul30jt in CES and later the N82. Been playing the waiting game ever since. I will pull the trigger on the Envy 14 if there is no news on the N82jv until then.

I think Envy14 will be launched on 17th June.

Again, Do you think Asus/ Dell are not watching any movement of HP for the market share ahead of school season ? They may come with big bang before even Envy 14 comes. Then we can see real tough competition. Its high time for asus now to launch N82 and for Dell to launch new Studio/Studio XPS with usb 3.0, switchable graphics etc...... If they both miss with their launches then HP may take major slice of the this years business .

It's a mystery to me why they can launch in one country weeks or months
before another. Are the differences that major between the country-specific
versions? Or is it not a production issue but a marketing decision?

from my experience USA is always last...like PS3, computers, DVD releases, video games and other technology...we are usually the last to get it for some reason...
must be because it is imported and usa has some more regulations than other countries?

Live in India then you will have to change your version ;)
I think we are the last getting the actual benefit of any new technology/innovation quickly. :(
Any model which starts goes out of market, that model, the company start selling as new innovation product here :(

It may be due to the demand/supply formula.
Here we are little price conscious and hence companies might have this policy here.

That sucks, yeah I definitely dont think USA is last to get things. We are actually 2nd most of the time I believe. Either way, it is annoying but not a lot we can do.

Does anyone have any idea when this notebook will come out? Because soon the other major companies will have released their own laptops that match or beat it overall.

We will not sell it in the UK.

I would recommend you look at the UL30A.

    Kindest Regards,

I have had a look and it is however for sale in Germany and other parts of europe currently!

    Why so restless dear ?
Do you think this model is better than new HP Envy 14 interms of specs/design/price ? I think Envy 14 will outperform than N82 (correct me, I want to know the advantage of N82 over Envy14). Looking at the design/specs of N82 and comparing with Envy14, I think the price of N82 should NOT cross $900 USD :D

i will never buy another HP product in my life... i have buyed two hp products before and both were having problems...
the first one the wifi suddenly stop working and hp service say to me that i have broken it and the warranty doesn't apply.
And the second notebook, has another problem, that i resolved myself by replacing the memories...

anyway, i live in spain, and now i see a news that the envy 14 will cost 1400 € that is out of my budget...

 I am shocked that US is still not launching this laptop! Actually two weeks ago I actually tried one in the Buynow mall in Beijing. It is for demostration but It was a brand new one as I saw it got opened from the sealed box. The sales said that it is a very new type, and the price they was RMB7800, about USD1150.

i guess you wont need a translation... :D

if they really wont realease this in spain, i guess i would get the portuguese version... or a US version would be the best!!!

the problem with the US version is that the row from A to Enter in the keyboard has only 11 keys, so you won't have a space for "ñ", as Spanish keyboard has 12.

Actually, as the news is there that, Asus will release its bamboo series and other multimedia models on 13th May, I post it here. And we know multimedia laptops from Asus are mainly "N" series laptops. So lets cross your fingers and keep an eye on Engadget to give us the news first :D

I almost just want to buy the MSI GX-640. What do you guys think? Better GPU, better resolution. Worse CPU no USB 3.0. I am torn but i think the i5 430m is fine for me. What would i need a i7 720QM for? And how is MSI's reputation, i dont know much about them?

The problem is that Envy 14 will be released for 1500€... you guys in the US get way cheaper laptops than here in Europe. I've personally been following the N82 for months, but the Envy 14 is a way better laptop...
