The german keyboard is virtually identical to the spanish one it has the same number of keys and many symbols like - . , ; : _ ) ( are in the same keys. Just change the keyboard distribution in Windows to Spanish.
Check Wikipedia for QWERTY distributions and compare, you'll see.

En serio haz eso, yo ya lo tenía pensado :)

yes i have tought that... but the most anoying of german layout is that they have the z and y inverted... its a qwertz layout... and then they have the ß and the ä, ö, ë in the region of the ñ... i dont like it... i guess i prefer an portuguese, but the portuguese is a core i3 like the french one (i have seen today that the fnac.fr has the n82jv, maybe spain is next!)...

Actually I think going for an IdeaPad Y460 is the best option if Asus does not release this laptop and if you cannot afford the Envy 14. It's got HD5650 and presumably a better screen than the N82

Yeah I'll probably wait. I need a laptop for the next 6 years at least and I think that the Envy 14 will suit this. In my opinion spending those extra 500€ are worth the retroiluminated keyboard, the better screen, the better viewing angles, the aluminum unibody and the i7.

BTW, the Envy 14 has i7 right?

If you'll keep the laptop for 6 years, you might want to stay with the N82jv to future proof yourself since it has USB 3.0, which I think will be very common in a year or 2.

yes, if you are willing to carry an external drive with you.

But for USB 3.0, you will just need to carry a flash drive.

It's not a very big deal though ( at least to me).

I don't think they will release it here. I wanted to buy the UL80Vt few months ago and they did not even know of its existance... For some reason companies in Spain do not like to distribute 14 inch laptops... Did you try contacting Asus Spain?

no i just asked for the n82jv and they told me that they couldnt event tell me the release date or if they are gonna distribute it... nothing nothig...

anyway, all the information that i found at engadget or so, they only talks of the n82jv, but the n61jv too, and they are selling the n61jq... i dont know... im confuse...

If you don't mind a large laptop, go for the N61Jq, definetly. The problem is that for that size you may want to start looking at other companies and gaming laptops... Though if you need a portable laptop (what an irony...) I think the best shots you got now are the Asus N82Jv, the Envy 14 and the IdeaPad Y460.

Does N61Jq have switchable graphics? Does the N82 have a version with ATI 5650?

N61JQ does NOT have switchable graphics and it has 1366x768 resolution in 16" screen. So be aware of that. And it has quad core i7 (without on board graphics). But its sibling N61JA had i5 processor with blueray drive, but Asus DISCONTINUED that model in USA.

I don't think the N61jv gets much better battery life either. That was the first notebook I thought about buying, but the battery life sucked too bad.

So, I decided to wait for the N82 and since it still isn't out, I'm going to see what the new HP Pavillion DV5 and Envy 14 are like and probably buy one of those (actually 2, one for the wife). Assuming HP actually ships machines they announce unlike some other vendors.

This kind of stuff hit the market really soon in my country.

But it's still a shame that asus took so long to release it.

This is actually what I call a good build. The keyboard and the touchpad are solid(good is the right word).

I'm not shore about the screen quality yet.
