oh whats that in the oven? smells like lawsuit!
-
Anyway, STI-R mentions the possibility of a lawsuit.... -
Heh.. they still have not revalidated my POP after I followed their own instructions about referencing my previously cancelled order etc. They sent me a message asking me to call their 800 number. Ay ay ay. If someone wants to start a lawsuit, I'd happily join.

Guys
I have a friend, ZH Koh.Well...he ordered last year (5th of December 2006 for a 32bit Vista) and for the next 3 months, he did not send in his POP reciept to moduslink. It was till April 4th 2007 when he sent in his reciept, and he recieved it today (he came back from Kuala Lumpur today). I think his order was approved long time ago.... -
You assume that we WILL all get our upgrades.. I am doubtful at this point.
Moduslink seems to be making it prohibitively hard for me to redeem my promised upgrade, which I would hope theres some sort of law against.
If they would just validate my POP which I have already sent them numerous times, I would wait as patiently as anyone. -
-
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, I had to let out a bit of frustration.
-- Order submitted January 9 -
Just to let y'all know, there may be light at the end of the tunnel. Whether it was patience or persistence (from sending email after email) they finally put my order through to the office.. and Im in the Order Received queue now.
So keep up hope, and if they give you hassle about verifying your POP, just keep emailing your info back to them again and hope you get a better service rep the next time around!
thanks everyone for listening to my rants. -
Mines still POP/COA validated.
April 2nd till today, April 10th
Total days - 8 Days.
336XXXX -
03-24-2007 "COA validated"
03-26-2007 "COA/POP validated"
03-28-2007 "order received"
04-09-2007 "order is approved"
this was after i had resubmitted for a 32bit vista. -
Is this normal?
It has been 10 days and my POP has yet to be validated.
If it is, then I can always wait, no problem.
Thanks... -
-
Mines is POP?COA Validated still.....
Its been X number of days since my order....
-
OK, now that Moduslink has shut down the option of going from XP Pro to Vista Business X64 for those of us with 64 bit processors, does anyone know if there will be an inexpensive (ie just the cost of media) way to get from business x86 to business x64? My sole purpose of waiting an extra month and getting a 64 bit core 2 duo was so I could upgrade to Vista X64.
P.S. - OP needs to update post to reflect current upgrade options. -
After all, everyone does it near the end! He-he. -
YAY!! Im FINALLY on Order Approved
crap this took a while. ok, next step is shipping. taking into consideration moduslink's fantastic service, I guess I should be receiving my order January 2008? -
Don't get too excited strong. I've been on "Order is approved" for 4 and a half weeks.
-
@ just mark : There is 2 ways to get the x64 media. The legit and the non-egit way. Go figure.(Since you already have the key by the time the 32bit media, it should not be a problem.)
Me still POP/COA Validated. -
-
Has "anyone" actually received their upgrade yet???!?!? And if so would you mind posting your country/location ? -
DrewN someone has actually received it! Check back the previous pages you will see...
-
OK, I think it was poeter, who is from Australia, and it was on page 20 something of this thread...
Anyone in North America get theirs yet? -
Kenny
im from australia and i havn't recieved my upgrade yet but its currently in melbourne and ill have it in the next couple of days.
modulink set a deadline that you would recieve your upgrade 4-6 weeks after your POP documentaion was validated. Anyone who has waited over 6 weeks should call moduslink 1800 603 517 - Aus Only (TollFree) and ask to have the matter escalated. I submitted my POP 9 weeks ago and had the matter escalated. The next day i went to order recieved, the day after i went to order approver and hen the next day my order was shipped.
Moduslink Asia are definately better than Moduslink North America. Apart from the fact that my order has been slow the only other thing i can complain about is the fact that when i placed my order i never recieved an email confirming my order. I had no difficulties validating my POP (sent by email, was validated in 2 hours)
Anyway best of luck to everyone here. Hope you recieve your upgrades soon! -
Still POP/COA validated...for me....maybe im really moving to the timerstop Vista instead.
-
mine is at "order approved" after my first order got cancelled due to wrong version, and cancelling my second order to change the shipping address.
-
-
-
Has anybody had any luck contacting Moduslink North America by phone?
If so, what number did you call?
Thanks in advance -
I have received mine and im located in Canada.
-
Would you say the turnaround time was as expected? I just realized I am still within the 4-6week period, but I am closer to 6 than 4.
Moduslink's communication also stinks, which doesn't help.
jywc, I'd like a NA number for these guys as well. -
http://www.agearnotebooks.com/Doc/ASUS_NB_VISTA_Upgrade_Program.pdf -
Theres an escalation email address there which I'm going to consider trying due to this dodginess
-
Just out of curiosity, has anybody in North America had any luck contacting Moduslink by phone? If so, how was the service? I'd just like to brace myself for what kind of experience I might expect if it comes to a phone call...! -
Ok wtf Ive been verified forever, but now i come back to check a week and a half later and its says that my info is invalid so i can't log in to see my order.
I ordered this on Jan 30 -
moduslink said i will received in Mid April. now already mid april, where is my order? i emailed moduslink! lol
-
I'm still POP/COA Validated. Ordered on the end of march. Still...
-
Emailing them is pretty much useless. I've tried emailing them several times but always get those automated messages that don't provide any information. Anyone have a phone number for Moduslink in North America?
-
moduslink is the biggest joke in mankind's history. I already got my copy via www.powertogether.com for FREE 2 months back and yet, i still dont get what i paid for.. holy cow!
-
where can i find my "order number" ?
and btw, im using a W3J with i think an XP Home....
if i ever decide to buy a vista, should the -Vista Home Premium upgrade- work for my W3J ? -
Yuppiii..... I actually received it today... ALL IN ONE drivers cd.. and Instalation guide... I will be installing it in a few day or maybe tonight, still dont know.. But sad part is that i have to install windows xp first and then upgrade.... I still dont know if it is possible to do a fresh install...
Edit: Installed Upgrade... It is nice that Asus provided all the drivers for it, so i dont have to look around anymore. -
-
I AM Freeeked out. still pop/coa validated. and guess what, i'm busy with college work now and i've to remember notes + check status of Vista Express Upgrade. Stresssssss.....
-
Ok, here's the deal:
My order has been sitting at "Order received" for almost 8 weeks now and I originally submitted my order mid-January. I've continuously sent emails asking for more information and contact information for a supervisor, but keep getting 1-2 sentence replies without anything helpful. They definitely ARE reading the emails, and not all of the responses are automated, but they simply aren't willing to give out any more information. So, I decided to call the number that was provided earlier in this thread. The fact is, aside from Moduslink's poor customer service, they really don't have much to do with the delays we're experiencing. The fault lies squarely on the shoulders of Asus, who neglected to create the necessary drivers and OEM packaging for Vista in a timely fashion. This seems to be common for most manufacturers involved in this process. They have had plenty of notice from Microsoft to prepare them before the launch of Vista, but they simply didn't do it. Now they are all scrambling to get things finished. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was very respectful and tried helping me the best he could, but the end product was giving my contact information to a supervisor so they could, in turn, contact their corporate office to find out what's going on with my order. He said I'll be contacted within 3-5 business days by a supervisor, but I'm not holding my breath. ;-) He did mention, however, that NOBODY in North America has received their upgrade (from Asus). It seems that until Asus gets their s**t together, all of us in North America are out of luck.
At any rate, I'll post my progress with this mess as I get more info. -
Wallace - excellent info and thank you for posting it.
If moduslink had bothered to inform anyone, it would have helped. As someone above said, there's enough fault for them all to share. Someone somewhere needed to do a better job of estimating when this would be ready.
Heck, if they originally told us the upgrades would ship in June and we all got them in May, we'd be impressed instead of ticked off. -
Thank you for the info, wallacegsr. I'm sure it required substantial patience and perseverance to obtain it!
It's very interesting and disappointing to hear Asus' role in this debacle. One of a gradually growing list of disappointments, unfortunately.... -
SWEET!
Order Status : Order is approved
Didnt even see it go to the other statuses -
-
Better than POP/COA validated
-
Anyone know how long it might take to get to the shipped status?
