search for your school. then ask your program director if you are eligible. -
Order Status : Order is approved
moving along very quickly once it got sent to backorder it seems. only took like 2 days -
got my disc today for another pc. But if any of you guys order a w3j and asus supplies a disc with drivers, do you mind uploading them. I want to run vista so bad on my w3j notebook but don't want to have any issues.
-
I think most of the vista stuff was put up a week or so ago.

Good luck with the upgrade =). -
If your school is part of the program, ask your lecturer how you would be able to obtain access to the system.
Legit software for FREE? Yes PLEASE!
-
Even if you are not eligible for the stuff through msdnaa you should be able to get it through your school for a good price. But yeah if you are working towards a more technical major like DTX said then you should be able to get access to msdnaa.
-
The tracking now works so I checked my order and it was shipped from Teterboro, NJ. Mail Express does not give it to USPS for shipping during the last leg, as previously thought, but they actually just give it to USPS right away. My order should be on its way!
-
Well im quite in an odd dilemma. Asus just sent me mail saying they needs my order number which I clearly wrote on the invoice. But then in the site, it says my order is approved..... so what do i do?
-
Order Status : Order is approved
After a month and a half, I am finally content with my life!!! hah -
-
This is for anyone who already received their upgrade: Is it shipped using Priority Mail?
-
ok i have followed rahilm method sent them an email and complain about the late shipment, they finally reply me with
"We would like to sincerely apologize for all the inconveniences caused.
We are presently shipping the upgrade CD according to the order numbers.
Customers who placed their orders with us since last October has just received their CD.
We greatly appreciate your patience and your CD will be delivered very soon."
Damn it!! I still have to wait
I think they will use registered mail and signature is required!! -
Atleast the reply they sent you pertained to the matter at hand. Here is the reply they sent me.

Oh wait, OMGG THERE IS NO LINK ?!?!
/sarcasm
There's no link next to my school's name after I searched. -
For what it's worth, I bought my ASUS A8JP on 3/15, registered for the upgrade on Tuesday night, emailed a scanned copy of my invoice yesterday afternoon, and was validated/approved early this morning. I guess it's not a painful experience for everyone. I can't wait to get my copy of Vista next October! >.<
-
I think you really need to stay on top of Moduslink to get your upgrade. And check to be sure your credit card was charged shipping and handling.
Because the terms of the upgrade have some gray areas and the time for getting the upgrade is coming to a close, it wouldn't hurt to politely inquire as to your upgrade. -
Well I'm still happy because my ordered shipped and I got free shipping.
-
i also emailed them, they're not very helpful
Dear Customer,
Thank you for your interest in the Upgrade Redemption Program. Shipping timelines vary by manufacturer. You should receive your Microsoft Windows Vista or Microsoft Office Vista software within 4-6 weeks. Regards,The Upgrade Redemption Center Dear Customer, Thank you for contacting the Upgrade Redemption Center. -
-
so, after submitting all your information how long does it actually take until your order gets shipped? It seems from the posts that it varies - but I got my POP varified around March 1, so should I be Approved soon and then shipped within 6 weeks of March 1st?
-
Haha you wish mate
Your in a long line like me
I submitted all my stuff on the 15th of february
~18th February is when POP/COA validated appeared
As of 23 march I still have this status >.< -
Are you sure the order numbers are sequential? Anyway, I'm #1799xxx. Got the POP/COA email March 3rd after initial submission. Status hasn't changed since then. I partitioned 20GB in anticipation of the upgrade back in January... stupid me.
-
I sent all that stuff to them in early February. My status just recently changed from "COA validated" to "order received." What the hey! My number is 15xxxxx. Still waiting.
-
mines is 216xxxx order approved, been so for a week
-
Mine is 117xxxx and it should be at my house soon.
-
woohoo, finally got mine today.
The product key doesn't seem like it's limited to asus laptops.
I've did a fresh installation on my old desktop athlon 1.33ghz and it activates fine. -
cool how long did you have to wait between order is shipped and getting it?
-
Pretty quick. I'm surprised that it even arrived on a Saturday morning.
The email informed me that it will arrive within 3weeks but it's not even a week, so I'm pretty happy.
Order Status : Order is shipped
Shipping Date : Wednesday, March 21, 2007
Hope all of you guys get it soon too -
mine is start with 14***** i order mine at the end of feb
-
-
So I posted my order number a few posts back in response to another member's question. I checked my status this morning and this is what it says:
Order Status : Order is cancelled
I just wrote to Moduslink to see what's up... but could someone have done something with just the order number? I figured without the COA and email address it wouldn't be that big of a deal posting it. Guess I won't be doing that again. -
Probably best to wait and see what Moduslink says. Maybe they lost some of your paperwork or have a question on it.
It's doubtful that anyone could have used your order number and borked things. But you never know. It's a good idea to never post anything that someone else could potentially use, though.
I just checked the status of mine. On March 22 they sent an email saying the upgrade shipped. As of today, it did not ship and my credit card has not been charged the shipping fee. So, I sent another freaking message to them and copied Asus on the email:
-
My order is "At Local Unit" so I should have Vista this afternoon when the mailboy comes by.
-
When anyone gets their copy, can you post your location, the first few digits of your order number, the make you're dealing with (ie. Dell, HP, Acer, Toshiba, etc.), and how long it took between the shipping email and the actual arrival? This will give everyone else a rough idea of where Moduslink is at in the processing, and how long we'll have to wait once it is shipped.
-
My order status is now "order is cancelled" too :S
I've sent them an email asking what's happened if they don't fix it up soon then I'll start threatening legal action against them since I've done everything right -
-
thats such bs
why should we have to wait even longer because they stuffed up somehow -
I'm actually very close to filing complaints with the Better Business Bureaus and the attorneys general in Calif., Utah, and Mass. If they cancel my order, it will happen.
I've notified both MS and Asus of how completely messed up this has been. In trying to get at least a timeframe from Moduslink on when CDs will be shipped, I just received the same meaningless email responses of 6-8 weeks (they're not automatic, tho, so a real person is reading/responding).
They're probably just regular working joes who are overwhelmed. I don't blame them, but I do blame the folks at Moduslink who planned this fiasco, as well as MS and the PC manufacturers who believed whatever rancid data Moduslink put in front of them showing they could handle it.
Grrrrrr. -
Exactly. I just replied back and told them that I have never contacted them since my initial order and that I don't wish to submit a new order... why should I get sent back to the end of the line?
-
If someone did use our order numbers they should only be accepting emails that come from the corresponding email address with our orders....
What turds -
What's done is done. At the very least, you and I have learned a lesson. I just told Moduslink to process my initial order. If I get a response telling me that I have to resubmit, then I guess I have no other choice.
-
Hopefully we can just tell them to reprocess that order, maybe just use the same information but under a different order number and hopefully not sent to the end of a very long queue
-
-
EDIT: I started the ordering process on the 29th of Jan, so its been almost 2months now -
So I got the upgrade earlier in the mail today!
I just completed installing it and it is great. If you do a clean install, make sure you delete the "Windows.old" file, it is large and will slow down your computer.
-
I don't know whats happening with mine anymore >.<
-
I recommend creating a new disk image with VLite it has some nice tweaks (and more coming soon with version 1 release) and you can integrate all drivers.
