Wow, that sucks ... for waiting so long and then shows your order is cancelled. Did you contact or emailed them in anyway before this status was shown?

I'm here in singapore and fortunately the process here was not long. I did not email them or contact them in anyway, i just waited. Please see below:

March 9 : submited all documents - COA validated status
    March 12: POP/COA validated status
    March 19: Order Received Status
March 24: Order Shipped Status. I was already given a tracking number and my card was already debited for the shipping fee.

I should receive my package by Monday, All in all the process took around 2 and half weeks. The packaged was sent from Taiwan via the Chuanghwa Post Co and my order number starts with 303xxxx. Hope everyone's orders arrive soon also.

    EMERGENCY!

My status also changed suddenly to "Order is cancelled". Previously it was "COA validated".

I ordered the 64bit version (i hear from the forum it seems to have problem, have not checked.) ;submitted the proof of purchase with the order no.

Do i have to resubmit again? What about the credit card part?

And when is the last day to order this vista express upgrade?
edit - Order no is 2987XXX

    So what happened?

I am considering ordering the 32bit OS in place of the 64bit OS. Really annoyed with Moduslink - Celeron M - . Anyway when the next version of Windows is released, definitely i am going for 64bit release. Wasted my precious time and money.

We'll need some advice here for those whose "Order is cancelled" for no valid reason.

Heh...this whole upgrade business was a disaster seemingly for a lot of people. My order remained at "COA validated" for 3 weeks despite the fact that I emailed my POP at least three times. Now I check today and all of a sudden it's at Order Approved.

Needless to say I'm not holding my breath waiting for it.

I have to say that I'm in total agreement with DrewN. I think in a couple months time when Vista is more stable and have more support I will just install my free Business version of Vista that I got from msdnaa if I haven't gotten my Home Premium upgrade by then. ModusLink has jacked me up way to much, and I don't think they deserve anymore of my time.

It does seem to me like everyone who is in the "Order is cancelled" situation had ordered 64-bit. (so far, at least)
Perhaps they (Moduslink) are trying to buy some time for themselves?

It's too bad all of these problems haven't really been well-publicized... Otherwise, there isn't much to propel Moduslink or Microsoft to do something about it all, I suppose.
Personally, I feel the biggest problems have been: the misleading "Express" description for the program, lack of communication from Moduslink, and of course inefficiency.

Ok. 2 question before i jump reordering again.

Since my 64bit is weirdly cancelled, is it safe assume that they have removed the COA. My credit card has been refunded of the amount i paid for the shipping.

Is it ok to reorder or should i wait a couple of days to see if the status changes from order is cancelled to order approved?

And should i still stick with the 64bit order option or go with the 32 bit one?

My order got cancelled too, if it is the reason that you guys say (64bit option), then thats stupid. I thought the vista dvd had both versions 32 and 64 and you would just have to choose when installed. I emailed lets see what they say.

OK, I was approved and all of that jazz, POP validated, etc and I'll receive the dumb thing in 4-6 weeks (yeah right). What I'm confused about: What's the difference between an upgrade disc and OEM?

Are they saying I can't install Vista from a clean HDD formatting? I'll have to format, install xp, and then install the Vista upgrade on top of it? Is there a disadvantage to this that should sway me from even bothering with this so-called upgradE?

That is only avaliable with Vista Ultimate.

You can install Vista on a freshly formatted HDD, without inputting the CD KEY, and then do an upgrade from within Vista, inputting the CD KEY. Its better than having to upgrade inside XP.

Is that really true? My understanding when I purchased my laptop (with 32-bit xpp) was that I could upgrade to 64-bit (vista business).

    I just looked up http://event.asus.com/vistaupgrade/
According to that page, people in my situation may indeed not be eligible for 64-bit. However, I am sure I read that site thoroughly and accurately before and I was supposed to be eligible for 64-bit. ProPortable's post (the OP) suggests this as well...
If anybody recalls whether or not people with XPP 32 bit were supposed to be eligible for Vista Business 64-bit, please add your thoughts...

It sounds like they've done everything possible to make sure they give out as few Vista upgrades as possible. Including putting the 64 bit option on the upgrade page, and then canceling everyones order just a few days before the deadline. I resubmitted for 32 bit, but god knows if they'll actually validate my pop by the time the deadline passes.

This is the most shady business experience I've ever personally encountered. Hopefully no more corporations will ever choose Moduslink for a fulfillment partner!!!

    Good luck everyone...

This whole 64-bit thing sucks!! Has anybody actually received a 64-bit Vista version through this express upgrade program. What i don't understand is why the hell it has taken them this long to say that selection of the 64-bit version is wrong, AFTER they have approved the order and all.

I'm yet to receive any e-mail saying that my 64-bit business order has been cancelled, but judging by all the other responses in this thread, its only a matter of time.

EDIT: so after the 31st of march no one will be able to reapply???

Guys i think i might have figured out why they cancelled the 64bit DVDs for us. (It's just a guess)

First off, what version of XP came preinstalled with your laptop? If it is 32bit, like mines, you cannot order the 64bit version as you cannot do an in-place upgrade from 32bit to 64bit. So you have to order 32bit Vista to in place upgrade a 32bit XP.

So if you have ordered 64bit the order got cancelled. I think moduslink knows what OS (32bit/64bit) we have OR they do not want us to use Vista's upgrade loophole to get 64bit.

Moduslink. WHY don't you make things clear in the FIRST PLACE?

I guess i'm half convinced. by my own explanation up there....

I just sent them an email asking them if that was the reason why people were having their orders cancelled. I will past the reply as soon as i get it. I also asked if it was possible to change my order to 32bit if the reason for the cancellations was as we suspect, since my order is yet to be cancelled and the deadline for the applications is closing fast.
