What do you think it would include?

LOL, I have free rent . (I'm 16 ) I don't want my parents to help me out because then they have authority over it and can take it away at there whim. So I want it to be mine. Its an independace and wanting to own thing .

No no no and for the other 10 models of the G51 we dont know yet either. We have a list of compatible parts and thats it. By the time we know, you will have read all about it.

Yes because instead of pluralizing the OMG acronym to represent a little girl screaming "OMG OMG OMG like OMG". We come up with a non existent acronym and then convince really strange people to use it all the time!

 

probably the $1200-1300 will only justify a better processor i.e. p8700 and a increase in HDD space.

I don't think there will be a better screen rez b/c of the fact that there's only two screen rez thats been suspected of being possible which are 1366x768 and 1920x1080.

Who knows maybe they'll come out with 1600x900 though ;D if they do, i would see the newegg putting it at the same 1300 price point and moving up the res to 1600x900.

Depending on income and time frame isnt terribly hard. I assume sooner then later though. Need to make 40 a week for a year to save a little over that

I think my average $ph will be like 7.50. So if I work some where for 40 hours a week, and payday is every 2 weeks I would have to save up for, 7 paychecks. . . .lol. That's like 14 weeks(math may be off, lol.)

Hmmm, whats that . A higher end computer. I want 2k so I can get like an 1800 computer and then have like 200$ to buy accessories and stuff. Then the next pay check I could get a huge valve play pack, and some games.

 

i'd say $1700 will probably get you what u want unless blu-ray is important. The screen rez upgrade is whats really important for alot of peops.

Tito i just meant saving money in general. If i rolled like I used to I would just find odd jobs todo to make 40 bucks a peice, do that 52 times lol. Oil changes, brakes and small repairs, used to make 50 bucks a peice just installing microsoft windows for people.

 

he gets 600 bi-weekly and then u minus taxes which i have no idea is hot much so lets say 550... so around 2 months he would get over 2g to spend on his laptop.

 

Every job I ever worked average 18 to 20 percent in taxes I just figure .82 X 600 barely 500 bucks. Varies by state and then how you filled out your W4 and stuff.

But I would assume he has expenses so.

I was thinking of doing local lawn work like I mentioned in my other thread. I just have to do 52 small lawn jobs or(since I have done a 200 dollar job before) a big job 10 times. That seams way easier but in my area home owners association rules, and other landscapers have there spot. . .

I was just showing an example, I could make more I could make less, I could have a "wait till the end of the month check". I was just speaking hypothetically.

Well i really wanted to shuv a 2.5 inch drive in there but not enough room for it unless I want to put it where the air is lol.

OH, you know what, I can put my tv tuner and bluetooth adapter in there while I am at it!

Nah, the fans are rated together to draw 560 mah which is 60 over a single usb. Dual connectors to provide the extra power (gonna have the connector come out to where the G50's dual connectors are that I never use). can easily remove the limit on the power (forget what it is 400 or less).

Should move a little extra air for all the added heat j/k. Theres plenty of sectioned off room inside the zalman. With the connector i am adding it also free's up the usb cable compartment.

 

Tito you can also buy the base model and upgrade it later .

 

Lol I'm very impatient. I want to do it all in one blow so I don't have to worry about it later.

 

Plus its actually cheaper that way and you overtime have extra money for the toys to duct tape on it j/k.

I know some of us ask for a lot but that just means we are really interested to see what this baby can do before buying.

those specs on the 71 seems too good to pass up for the 51. i think i just might get the 17". from 2 to 2.53 ghz is a huge leap and 2 more gigs of ram? bring it on

 

I think there might be a miscalculation is specs.. For $150 more than the G51 you get More memory, Faster processor, More HDD space, and a larger screen.. Its hard for me to believe but then again best buy has done some crazy stuff.. I will be checking on that today and fill you all in more about the G71.. I will be posting Vantage Benchmark tests because of the DX10 but if you want the '06 then I can do that too.. wont get the chance until tonite since i have work today..

Well the extra res boost won't really give that much better of a display...I mean how small do you want your text to be! I'm fine with a 1024x1024 max display. Games look great..and with the smaller resolution, games should have a higher FPS rate within crysis and others.
Also, won't the g51 overheat like crazy? A GTX260M!!! Inside a laptop! I don't think this will last very long at those high heats, but I've seen laptops like the MSI with a 9800M and according to NBR, it achieves output heats of 130F, so whatever. As long as this laptop lasts for 4 years without a hardware malfunction, I'm good.

masterwares - I played some crysis on it and it does warm up a little but that fan really does a good job.. It's a little loud when it kicks in but its a powerful and does the job..

Yeah 2.0 is definitely too small so that's why I wanted the 2.53 one. I'm not sure if Quad Cores are optimized yet for Crysis are they?

Well CPU is swappable so it's not a big deal if you want more. considering you're getting a GTX260M for 1000$USD I wouldn't really be complaining lol Buy a separate CPU and swap and it'd probably still be cheaper than another machine with a GTX260M >.>

 

Oh, looks like the G71 has the OLED again.. Sure wish they kept it for the G51 even if it didnt serve much purpose.

 

Agreed, except that I've seen some cool uses for it like displaying operating temps etc.
