my dvd drive makes all sort of weird noises as well! i was wondering myself if it was normal or not![]()

I wonder if its a revision from nvidia that doesn't downclock. I know I had an issue with my home 280GTX when I first got it. But the last batch of drivers corrected that. Shoot. Here I was hoping I could just keep everything stock and not worry about "special" drivers.
-
Just to let you guys know, using HDMI output apparently locks my GPU at "Extra" clocks/voltages even at idle so that may the reason and not the drivers.
-
perhaps, but I was only using the laptop screen and not HDMI D:
-
Anyone has a driver for the LAN driver for windows 7? The Asus Lan driver for vista 64bit isn't compatible.
-
Worked just fine for me.
Uninstall the driver and reset the laptop. Windows 7 will find a driver for you. -
Hmm, I got the most updated drivers. Everytime my system goes in system goes in standby and back to windows. My internet connection is gone, only way to fix it is by restarting the computer.
-
^ are you using windows 7? that happens to me on my desktop which is running Windows 7 RC
Another question, is the HDMI output disabled on the DOX 185.85 drivers? I think I read it somewhere.. but I can't seem to find it anymore -
No, HDMI output is not disabled on the DOX 185.85 drivers, I'm typing this right now on output to my 720p TV, and I am using DOX 185.85.

I don't get why i with 200mhz core clock and 120 mhz memory clock getting ~56C. Few days ago i had 49-50 with the same clock speed. :/

Sometime the keyboard keys does not respond for about a split second then respond again. I tried a lot of things, nothing, sadly -
For some reason, I'm getting temps of 75-85 whenever the screensaver pops up (not hibernating/sleeping)
-
On another note, just played COD4 for ~45min at 1440x900 max settings without AA (very nice looking game btw) with the following temps:
As far as i know the GPU temps look normal (stock ASUS clocks), but I'm not sure about the CPU temps. Just curious how my temps are compared to everyone else. I saw the GPU go up to 97C once in GRID -
My screensaver is set at a blank screen. I don't see why that would bring it to 3D clocks :\

Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
My screensaver is an off screen.

My screensaver is a screen.

@FuniGTR
CPU temps are really awesome.....but I think the reseller versions have cooler CPUs than RX05s anyways.....not that CPU temps were a problem before -
But somethimes temperature just pop up for a while when im doing nothing.
I do nothing with laptop and getting ~56C. :/ -

I have consistently seen like high 30Cs or low-mid 40Cs idle for reseller versions compared to like high 40Cs to low 50Cs for the RX05. Also, the load temps are often alot better too.
It might be because reseller versions are using better thermal paste -
my CPU idles at 32-35C and maxes at 63C when OC'd to 3.1GHz. I have an X1A.
-
Actually my X2A had a t series... is that bad?

There are 3 touch activated buttons above the keyboard and right beside the power button. Anyone knows what it does?
The gaming logo, the running man, and a square with a line over it. Lol
I press it and it lights up but I don't see any changes or any notification of anything. -
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Odd.
Square with line through it is the enable/disable touchpad. (Also Fn+F9)
Running man manages power options.
ROG logo manages Splendid settings. -
-
You could I'm sure, but you might just want to wait and see how Clutch's program works.

SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Do you have the programs installed?
-
Hmm.....guys, for the running man, what specific power options does it cycle through?
It doesnt seem to do anything on my comp but the odds are its because I uninstalled the program its associated with -
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
High performance -> Entertainment -> Quiet Office -> Battery Saving (In order from most intensive to least)
-
I'm pretty sure I uninstalled that..... -

I have a G51 which has been really solid for me, except for one small problem. The BluRay keeps disabling itself and I have to go to the Device Manager to enable it, which is annoying. I'm on Windows 7 RC1 x64 and I'm thinking of formatting it again as in some games such as Mass Effect, there are artefacts in certain places. Does anyone know what's wrong?
Scirwode -
ODD disabling itself: could be a software or driver problem / conflict. Without more details I have no idea.
Artifacts: what are the temperatures on your GPU? Do you overclock it? -
Scirwode -
Thats actually a bug with the first DLC on Mass Effect.
There is a work around, I believe, over in the Mass Effect forums in Bioware's site. -

Question about the bluetooth/wireless: How do you toggle between wireless/bluetooth/both/none? I'm wondering if I'm having the same wireless issues. No change with Fn+F2, if thats the way.
-
Hey guys, just wondering how do I turn off the animation when I use Fn key for volume or brightness. I'm sure it was off at first then I must have enabled it somewhere. I think someone asked this before but I can't find the post. Thanks!

Sorry if this is old news, but the estore has the G50/G51 HDD bracket in again.
Just ordered one. More copper here we come. -
The G51 doesn't already have it? -
-
What I mean is doesn't the G51 already come with a 2nd bracket for the HDD? It's pretty stupid if Asus expects all their customers to buy a 2nd bracket.
the new asus g51
