When did you order? What was the original EDD?
Any upgraded specs like 1080p, quad core, etc?

Ordered 26th October from the UK. Bog standard i7 / 435M specification, and the only thing changed from default configuration was the addition of a Windows media disk.

Original EDD was 12th November, current delivery prediction of 10th November.

 

In the UK, ordered the i7 / 435M with Bluetooth and Blu-Ray as extras today (November 8th), the delivery estimate is December 1st.

 

so finally some of the 15's are getting shipped?

just got an email for my inquiry with 'format ready' kind of reply.

"Kindly be informed that the reason for delay the delivery is due to part shoratage"

dont know which one! i didnt upgrade the screen but added 9 cell and tv tuner.

So basically we're getting a free trip around the world with this notebook. All other machines I have received from Dell out of Shanghai, took a much more direct route...

 

Ooh my boyfriend's took two-three days to arrive a couple of years ago.

Mine went into "Production" today, ordered in the evening of 4th November. Hope it'll go as fast as some other people have it here.. Geez looks like everyone is getting it shipped right now . I envy you all!! Haha

 

It seems like most of the ones that have shipped are UK or NZ customers.

That's very interesting (about the map) I'm not well versed on the backend of computers. So I'm probably in the minority who ordered the xps 15 with the core i3.

Edit: It's in Poland now. slowly getting closer.

it was a system replacement. the agent ordered it around Oct 26.

 

Just ordered an XPS 15 today...looks like the backlit keyboards are back. I think I got a good price with my EPP (Student) discount.

Mine said that too when I clicked on the Purchase ID link, but when I click on the Order Number link in the email it still says 12/07/2010.
Not sure which to believe.
(its been like that since the day I ordered it)

 

Welp I got a canned response back. So I basically replied with a "Well it never took HP this long". Which is, true. Also mentioned I've never ordered a Dell system before (also true) and if these kinds of delays are to be expected with Dell.

I doubt it will go anywhere, but we'll see.

My EDD was Dec 2nd, but when I called Dell the day after my order, the agent told me he'd put my order under some "expedite delivery" idk what that does, but anyway.

Does anybody know if I go to the change details section and Change the name of the recipient or bill to name, will that cause the whole thing to be delayed?

I put my order in on Monday, had to change the credit card details over the phone today, but got a confirmation email today with the order status showing a tick for Order Received and an arrow for Work in Progress

Now, a little delayed, EDD 02/12/2010; after all, my first order, wich took place on october 22nd, was cancelled and re entered on nov-5th, so, one week more is not gonna be that bad, since i don´t really need it with hurry...

Also, i had ordered a basic config, with the 720p screen and the 320gb HHD, now they charged the premium for the screen, but i noticed they´ve upgraded the HDD to; that was a good one.
