2010 XPS Configurations and Delivery Dates Here

How is that idiotic?
If they did it like some companies all shipments would enter where most other Chinese made products do, California or Seattle.
Then anyone on the east coast would take 7 days to receive their package.
This way the planes land directly next to the FedEx distro centers to send out on local shipments.
I think it makes perfect sense.

 

i meant more from the standpoint that the tracking of each product begins in its second stage. instead of from china, which is where pretty much all other forms of tracking would begin

 

Yeah, that is odd.

I wonder if they aren't FedEx planes?
Or they could be just cranking out so many laptops right now that they would rather put them on pallets and get them to the US/UK/NZ/etc asap and scan them once they get to their destination country.

 

even if they aren't using fedex planes there is still transport, assuming they dont just put things on planes without making note, then there are records too. which i can only imagine are electronic, thusly extremely easy to duplicate and publish. either way im still happy ill be getting mine tomorrow. just have a thing against incompetency

shipped yesterday and getting it in.... < 4 hours!!

 

My replacement has been in production for about 10 days now, I've been advised that it should ship shortly. The changed me up to an XPS 17 from an XPS 15, but in exchange upgraded the components immensely, since the XPS 17 does not have a 1080p display. That was nice of them.

I'm getting a reasonably tricked out XPS 17 pretty soon then heh.

I dontt wanted to wait another month, otherwise i would definitely gave them a call to add backlit keyboard!!! 21 days gone, still stuck on 'work in progress'. old edd was 18th which was delayed to 25th. not sure if the pace continues (delaying mate, not delivering )!!!

I'm not gonna skip class, honestly, especially since I don't need to. The package is being delivered at my campus mailbox, which means there will be someone to pick it up anyways.

Purolator says it's on a truck for delivery, so it should take as long as it takes the truck to do it's run. I really hope it's not too long.

The description though looks like FHD for Full HD

 

yes, it is. I had the same line in specs and I've got myself 1080p

 

Mine arrived this morning at 10:30, I picked it up from the mailing room at 11:45. It's SOOO much better than I expected, and my expectations were HIGH. The screen is amazing, the sound is great. Keyboard is really nice, I love the big touchpad and buttons. I'll post more on the XPS 15 owners lounge.

This email is to inform you that your order is still in the process of assembly and we aim to deliver on or before the estimated delivery date below. [which is 25th nov]

the subject is 'manufacturing notification'. is that mean they just started the manufacturing? great!!! guessing, next monday/tuesday then :SLEEP:

I called d sales person nd he told he was about call me ( had i not called him today...He wud have said d same if i call him 2 weeks later )... He said der was som prob with availability of software nd der wud be slight delay in delivery date .... nd he said he ll send me the order confirmation mail again with new quote no....

Aft 2 min i got.. but really got pissed ... n dat d order date is 2day(17/11) and EDD is 14/12.....

hi everyone...I'm from India.
I ordered it on 4th nov. And EDD was on 12th nov.
But still I'm waiting..on 12th they said it will reach by 16th...and now they are saying that due to some compatibility issues due to introduction of nVidia card they are just not able to deliver anyone...they said wait till 24th and call back on that day for the status....I've to go back to my native on 26th...and it really sucks.....don't know when they'll finish up with this compatibility issue...

 

I ordered my XPS 15 on 9th nov and 2 days later on 11th nov I reveived my order confirmation. Since then it's stuck in "work in progress". I think that means they are waiting for some parts because the next step will be "production" where they put it together. But 6 days for that status is pretty long. But my EDD is 30th nov so they got some time left....

 

Mine is "out for delivery" should be here in a couple hours! Ordered on 10/27 in the US...

your status will be changed in any moments i guess
you will get an email before it changes! so dont forget to check it frequently, instead of checking the status!!!

 

Yeah only in my dreams would Dell ever actually contact me to inform me of something! Still in production so not getting my hopes up! Ohwell I suppose if they live up to the second EDD (29th) I can't complain too much - at least the new EDD would have been accurate and realistic!

friday: delivered

even, it could be earlier!!! i know how it feels, specially stuck in a 'wip' without any updates...
